Good Morning!

Thanks for the pages, Tracie.

Sorry to hear about the boys being abandoned by their Dad. Thank goodness they had you!

And, perverts in church. Well, we've heard about lots of sexual abuse in churches perpetrated by officials. I've met a few perverts there myself. Too bad that they weren't there seeking forgiveness and reconciliation!

Protein: I think it was Sloan who raised this. I have the same issue. I wish I liked soy (don't know if its Core) but I don't really--except fried in Chinese food! You might think about beans. There is a good trick to reducing the gassiness they produce: add a pinch of baking soda while cooking or heating them. And, there's always Beano. I keep some hard-boiled eggs in the 'fridge.

Back to my colleague for a minute: there were just tons of people at the visitation. They seem to have a big family. He is the youngest of 5, so I hope that the families come through for him. That might help him with the actual tasks and help when he can't sleep at night from grief and worry. I so hope he is enveloped by love. He is a very nice and good person. He was the Chair of our department for an interim period and was one of the most humble and fair administrators I ever met.

It's a beautiful summer day here in Toronto and I'm not going to the office but am going to work in the yard.

BBL,
Rhonda

Mornin' chickies!

Rhonda-you mentioned that you don't like soy. Have you tried any of the vegetarian burgers? Week one of the ww material says that vegetarian burgers are core. I do like them. If you had them on a one point bun with all the fixin's you would think you were having a real burger. I do like beans and have them occasionally. Also, your colleague sounds like a great guy; I'm so sad for him. I'm glad he has a large family, hopefully they will be there for him.

I'm off to do errands and spend the day with my DH. It's his day off. TTFN

Happy Monday everyone! Here at work, getting ready to go out for lunch with a new employee. I plan on sticking to core - probably a salad with some protein on it.

Not much else happening. BBL

Hi Laddies

I was too busy to post the morning with all the errand & shopping that had to be done. tomorrow morning I have other errands as on Wed & Fri my DH has tw3 appointments with the doctors.

Paula thanks for staying us up this week. We expecting some rain this afternoon, hope it cools things down a bit. Can't stand this heat, wishing it was winter again.

Didn't do to bad over the weekend with my WPA's only used 6.Now hopefully the rest of the week should be a breeze to stay OP.

BB, unfortunatey I have to work, so the weekends are the only time for me to get things done. After working all day, the last think I want to do is housework and major cooking. It's enought that I have to cook dinner and clean up the mess.
Tracie-I do understand I remember when I was working and keep a household. It hard and it get tiresome. I guess I didn't think, being retired and all.

Quote:
so sorry to hear about your DH. Let us know his name so we can pray for him.
SLOAN-That so nice of you to pray for my DH his name is Leo.Thanks. Right now I need all the prayers I can get.

Hugs BB

Hello everyone! I've had a pretty good day today. Did a little Goodwill shopping but did not find anything. I've decided you have to go often in order find good stuff. I have gotten two really cute dresses for $6.00 each, and two skirts for $4.00 each in the last two weeks.. I'm starting to view this as a game! My DH and I didn't get to spend too much time together, because he ended up working on our friend's car most to the day. We did have dinner together, and now we are vegging in front of the tv.

Rhonda-I've been thinking about the protein issue, and I've come to the conclusion that being prepared is the answer. If I'm tired of the same thing, then I need to have things in the fridge or freezer to choose from. I've got to find several things that I like and cook ahead like some our chickie friends that we chat with. BTW I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes again today!

BB-sounds like Friday will be a busy day. Hang in there!

I did come up with an unusual idea today. I had prepared the cottage cheese pancakes but did not sweeten them or add banana. I used one like bread and topped it with the diet coke sloppy joe mix. It was really good, and that gave me the idea to use the pancakes like bread to make a sandwich or maybe an individual pizza.

GTG fold some laundry. BBL

Hi chickies! Did dinner in the crockpot tonight. Ropa Vieja from the ww site. It is pretty good. I've had it once before and liked it. This time my dbf added whole mini bella mushrooms and I ate most of the mushrooms. No one else really likes them, but I love them. I wil post it for anyone that wants to try it. It's flank steak and it's a little sweet.
Been staying op and did some laps in the pool tonight. My good friend, who also used to be my neighbor moved about 2 hours away but her daughter(Mandy) still lives around here. She came over kind of depressed over some issues she is having with her room mate so we fed her and found something for her to wear to go swimming with us. She was always like a daughter to me. Her mother, my good friend, used to watch my kids for me while I was working so my kids were like hers also. She only lived a few houses down from me so we watched out for each others kids.
I didn't eat a lot of dinner because I was too busy talking to Mandy so I'm getting a little hungry. Think I might have some popcorn and some fruit. Still need one more fruit/vege to meet all my requirements. I also need some oil so maybe I'll do the oil/light butter on the popcorn. Or maybe I'll just do a smoothie and get in my fruit and oil in that!
Hope everyone is doing good and saying op!

Sloan, good for you on the treadmill. I'm on a treadmill too: housework No, I haven't tried the veggie burgers; maybe I will.

It was a very busy day just doing what we have to do here. My house has never been so clean but there is still too much to do. Oh well, I have to go to the office tomorrow so there's a limit to what I can do here.

I gotta try these pancakes! That will be one of the new recipes I try this week.

Nice story about your friend, Tracie. I'm sure your TLC made Mandy feel better.

Have a good night, all.

Rhonda

Just be sure you are not sensitive to soy if you try the veggie burgers. I'm allergic to soy protein, and can't tolerate anything soy, tofu, or a lot of vegetarian meat, cheese, etc etc.

I have a whocking head cold right now. At first I just thought it was seasonal allergies, but it's beyond that now. Bleh. I am trying not to use it as an excuse to eat everything I want.

My girls are bugging me to get a new pet, so we are thinking of a newt. They are small and pretty easy to take care of. So if/when we get our newt, we will have 3 cats, a gerbil, a goldfish and a newt.

I'm off to bed now.

Good morning ladies. Its a beautiful day here today -- humidity is gone. Taking my mom and niece to my MILs for lunch. She is coming a bit early to go over some of the social security paperwork. She was supposed to keep getting my dad's payment but for this month she got hers and not his (which is less). She was a bit paniced last night, but I did double check the ss website and survivor benefits should be his. It may just be a timing thing. This is her big concern right now, just confirming what her monthly income will be. Its just amazing how much paperwork needs to be filled out -- it must be really hard for someone her age without kids to take care of things.

Any who..... I did wi this morning and logged it on line. I was up 2, but its TOM and I am bloated this month. So, I wrote it down, got the sad face on the ww site. Oh well, I need to just write down what it is each tuesday -- if I don't I'm only trying to fool myself. And besides, no one is going to see it. If I'm going to do this using the etools, I need to be honest with myself.

I'm now courious to try the cottage cheese pancakes. That could be my new recipe for the week. I like the idea of making it for bread.

BB,hope dh is feeling better. When will you get the results of the latest test?

Sloan, my gf does a lot of good will shopping. There is one store she goes by when droping her kids to school - she knows Thursdays are dollar days and when the new stuff is put out. She gets un believable deals. She picked up 3 winter coats for me for dd - at a $1 each! One had tags on it still.

Angela, how are you doing? I assume the floods are all gone since its no longer in the news. I hope you and your family did not have that much damage. How is the store?

Tracie, its great that you were able to be a surrogate mom to your freinds daughter. Everyone needs someone to talk to..

Well, off to get bf. Then take the dog for a walk, get drycleaning together and finish picking up. My cleaning lady is coming this morning -- she should be here by now. Then off to MILs, then when we get home, stop at the dry cleaners and Target. Have a good day!

Good Morning Ladies

Well its hot and humid up here again after the reprieve we had last week, wish this heat would disappear. It now effecting me with headaches and my breathing. We have the a/c on 24 day hrs a day.

Good news that I'm staying on program with the core plan wish I would have known about it before the SB & low carbing. I would have gone to WW earlier.

SLOAN-It will be a busy day driving to both doctors.I will be extra careful driving on the highways. We're having so many accidents now that the tourist are up here. Our town is over crowded and the horns are be blown more than any other time on the Cape. People always in a hurry not to go anywhere. At least in the winter people always give you the right of way,but not in the summer months, you take you life in your hands especially driving.

TRACIE-Your lucky you have a pool in this hot weather, wish we had one but we're not allowed to have one in our community.Mandy is very lucky to have someone like you being there for her.

PAULA-I'm feeling ok other than the heat. We're going to the pulmonary doctor tomorrow around 3:30 and we'll get the results at that time.

Hugs BB

Mornin' ladies

As it turns out, I'm not going to my conference today, but I am going to pick up my new glasses! I am so excited! I'll finally be able to read without wearing two sets of glasses! I'm also going to hit another Goodwill store that is in the same area as my optician's office.

BB-I'm praying for Leo to get good news on Friday. You two keep cool

Tracie-I'm sure your friend appreciates the hospitality and support you give Mandy. The little things we do for each other can have a huge impact.

Paula-I'm going to have an "egg sandwich" with my pancakes this morning. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Angela-Hope you feel better! Don't put the newt too close to the gerbil. He may become a tasty dinner!

Rhonda-Sounds like you've accomplished a lot with your house cleaning. I know what you mean about there being so much more to do. Seems like the more you do, the more you see that needs to be done. Don't go overboard!

GTG get the glasses! Have a great day! TTFN

Hello chickies!

Angela, we've missed you here. Hope you are feeling better soon. Don't you hate summer colds?

For anyone that hasn't tried the pancakes, you will love them. If you like regular pancakes, you will like these as they smell and taste just like the real things.

Paula, I haven't had to deal with anything regarding ss, but I imagine that it's a pain, since it's ran by the government. Hope everything works out for your mom.

Sloanie, you go girl! Get those new glasses and go shopping. You can find some great buys at good will, you just have to be willing to spend some time looking.
