Went to the Doc - X-ray shows a undislocated fracture of the bone up near the shoulder! Grrrrrr! The radiologist "calls right away if it's a break". SUre! Sure! Guess he forgot this time because it was not until yesterday that my real Doc looked at the results. Needless to say I am a bit ticked off after nearly 6 days of pain and semi-sleepless nights!
Anyhow, the good news is that it will heal faster than a broken bursa! I'm in a sling and have pain killers and orders to rest so DH is going to have to start looking after ME for a change! Two weeks in the sling, then more X-rays and a visit to a bone doc and then we will see.
I got the egg class started this a.m. and left for the doc - was back by noon to see the results. Pretty neat stuff. AND there were no fights as there might have been if Peach and Jan were blowing eggs at each other. We raised $500 for Habitat.
Anyhow, I am posting this on its own so there will be no wondering about where I am. Technically I am not supposed to use the computer so I am not really here. How the heck did I drive to Ottawa yesterday with a broken arm? I must be tougher than I thought.
Will be checking up on you guys even if I don't post remember.
Lordy, Ruth, that's terrible! All that misery! Boy, then people wonder why I don't trust the medical field....ooops, sorry Liz!
Anyway, rest when you can. My granddaughter broke her shoulder falling off of a horse and healed in record time....but she isn't old and feeble like us! (Ducking while Ruth swings her purse!) Seriously, I can appreciate what you're feeling and I'll be thinking of you.
So sorry about the unnecessary pain. Hope you heal soon. Glad to know that at least you were diagnosed correctly.
When I was told by the radiologist, that I did NOT have a fractured foot (four years ago), and I returned to my walking regimen, it sent me into a downward spiral from which I am still trying to claw my way out. Good news is, part of the result was that I finally learned to use the computer and made a couple of good friends
Incidentally, I know that you have one, but I hope at some point somebody takes pity on me and tells me what, exactly, a "chicken purse" IS. Do I have to go all the way back to 1999 (can I even?) in order to find out? If you DO borrow Peache's steel toed boots will you clash? how does one accessorize? Can one swing the purse AND kick simultaneously? Oh, now I'll be up all night stressing over it...
Oh, Ruth! I feel for you. I certainly hope that everything will be headed in the right direction and that you get some well deserved pampering while you heal and wait.
Quick word of advice: you might want to hang up the metal bra for a few days as to not add any unwanted stress!
Take it easy, relax, rest and call on us if you need anything!
Poor Ruth! I have been thinking about you and everyone here...I have been so busy working and trying to get away...we leave for Mexico on Monday morning and have to leave here tomorrow..Sunday so that we are at the airport on time...don't even ask...hey Tippy if you knew my story you would realize I trust the medical field less than anyone...so no offence taken...take care..Liz
Roofie, Roofie, Roofie- can you pour a Scotch? Swallow your calcium with it, and put your feet up and start giving orders. He'll love it, and you need your REST!
I know you'll mend fast- but we're thinking healing thoughts anyway!
love, dottie
