MANDY ~ I think that I replied to this post before the crash, but just in case you didn't see it ... WELCOME TO 3FC's site, and yes, I really think PILATES, YOGA, TAI CHI, CHAIR AEROBICS, HAND WEIGHTS, and SWIMMING would help you to get into shape again. Just remember that it has only been 9 weeks or more since you gave birth. Someone once said 'that it took you 9 months to create the baby, so you should give yourself at least that much time to heal and get into shape again.'
Sounds like good advice to me, esp if you are nursing; you will need to make sure you are getting enough to eat during that time as well. Hope this is helpful to you somehow; and that we'll see you around the boards too ...
