I dont know, i have a hard time following someones rules who has never had a weight problem. Joy is what? 90 pounds? Seems like her solution is eat less, move more.....ya think? I am sure she has great information in it, but my problem isnt knowing WHAT to do, its DOING it.

Hello! I used this book back in 2001 and it worked wonders. I lost about 40 (possibly more-I stopped weighing myself) pounds by following it. I followed it pretty religiously for a month or so, then things just sort of clicked and I knew how much I should be eating to lose weight, and just kept on losing. I figured out a few good breakfasts and a few good lunches and just kept eating them over and over. For dinner, I made some of her meals (and froze leftovers), then I started eating a lot of Lean Cuisines with a salad. I also bought her 90/10 cookbook later on, but I haven't made a lot of the meals in it. So yes, it definitely works if you can follow the plan, or at least the suggested calorie counts. And I know I was able to restrain myself so that I could have a candy bar or wine at night!

It doesn't fit with my lifestyle right now, because I have a whole family and things are just crazy. I think I could make it work if I really tried though. Good luck!

Does the '90/10' mean stay OP for 90% of the time and not OP for 10% of the time? If so, I've been doing this all along and find it works great. Been losing fairly consistently (so far ) and the 10% off-plan keeps me sane.

Yes, that's essentially the gist of it (although the book claims it's all on-plan, KWIM?). After I followed it for about a month like I mentioned, I treated it more like a calorie-counting plan. I was about 1500 calories a day, and 250 of that was a "fun food" with pretty much no nutritional value at all (if you chose, you could always eat nutritionally but I always went the chocolate route).
