Default Weight and TTC

DH and I have been TTC for over 2 years now. Lately my weight has been jumping up - I'm running out of clothes that fit. I think it's probably because of the TTC - I'm on my 2nd round of Clomid and so far, nothing. How do you deal with losing weight and TTC? I feel like I can only concentrate on one or the other and lately it's been the TTC. AF came a few days ago and I totally binged all week - over 2000 calories every day. I just don't know how to deal with it. Food is definately a comfort for me, and I've needed more comfort lately. I really want to get into a healthy weight range - around 130 would be great, as that is right around 23-24 BMI which is considered the best level for conception.
How do you deal with this? What can I do to not completely freak out when I'm stressed over TTC? Oh, and it doesn't help that I've been dx w/ PCOS and probably IR.
TIA for any thoughts.

Does no one out there in all of 3FC have this struggle? Surely I'm not the only infertile one around.

I can only offer encouragement to you. I'm losing weight in preparation to TTC this summer. I imagine that doing both at the same time would be very difficult. My main goals in losing weight is to establish an exercise regimen and to start eating healthier. I gained 60 lbs during my first pregnancy and I want to avoid that during my next pregnancy.

Would it be better to put off TTC while you get to a healthier weight? It would make it easier on you to be healthier when you got pregnant, and it would also be easier to only have to deal with one or the other... Maybe set a month a bit down the road and focus on exercising and eating well.

I'm sorry I can't offer you anything else, hugs to you though.

My husband and I have been ttc but for only three months. I can olny imagine how hard it is after two years. I think the stress of having trouble ttc would make me gain weight. We waited 6 years to start trying so when I would get my period every month I was devistated. Have you tried maybe having easy high protein snacks and meals? String cheese, almonds, jerky. Maybe that would help to keep the calories down. I know I am not much help. I am really sorry you are having to go through this! Also is a side effect oc clomid weight gain? I don't know much about it.

Thank you ladies for your thoughtful comments.

lyterae - Yes, it would certainly be easier to do one or the other. I've thought about doing that, but my IF problem is not ovulating, and I don't know that losing weight will help. Ultimately, that might be a choice I need to make for my health's sake. It's silly, but I'm afraid that if I wait to TTC I'll never get PG, since it's already been 2 yrs. KWIM?

AmbieP - Eating more protein is one of my goals, actually. It helps to keep my blood sugar stable. I need to train myself to think "cheese, not chocolate" when I'm stressed. LOL As far clomid and weight, it doesn't seem to affect it all that much. It makes me a little more emotional, which means I eat more, so I guess it does have an indirect effect.

I wish you both success on your TTC journies. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.
