I am back on Core for the 1st time in a very long time. Been a Flex gal for 3+ years but need a break from the tracking.
I was wondering how people use their WPA points? Do you plan ahead for the week and mark specific days you'll use them (i.e., waffle and pb for breakfast on a certain day), or do you log them at night if you ate a non-Core food that day?
Thanks for the advice. I'm looking forward to getting re-acquainted with folks on this (friendly and always helpful) board.
There are posts from last night on last week's board and there is a post from Elanajel on a separate thread. Make sure you catch up!
Coco, Lytricia has a tip for your DH, posted last night on last week's thread. It's about gout and cherries. I, too, have read about this on a listserv I am on. I trust my source on this and agree with Lytricia...you might want to check out if cherries or cherry extract could help DH. I would ask at a health food store. The MDs are unlikely to know much about it, frankly.
I remember you...come on over to our weekly chat thread. I just started a new one for Dec. 3-9th (you were a day ahead of the rest of us! )
I bet that you will find that some of us use the points, others don't. Some of us plan; others don't! Whatever seems to work for you is what you should do. Our metabolisms are individual and changing, as you know.
Good Morning Chicks! We are waiting for the doctor's office to open at 10 so we can find out if Jim's surgery is on. I'm not going to WW today. If there is no surgery, I'll go tomorrow. If there is surgery then I'll go later in the week or next Monday. I've too many things to do today. The decorating isn't done and I've many errands to run.
Have a great on program day and I'll update later.
Vickie * thoughts and prayers are with you.
Rhonda * Congrats on your pound loss!!! Awesome!!!
Elana * I too turned back to Core on May 26 and lost 50lbs, and have been maintaining my loss for a while now.I feel good!! And my eating habits have changed emensly. It clicked one day and the rest as they say is history.
As Rhonda said, we are all different. Work the program the way it works for you, but the operative words are "work it" It Works!!
I use my WPA on things like 1 pt Dannon Lite and Fit Yogurt, Flatout bread, or 1 pt whole wheat roll for my dee-lish Core burger, and have Fries the Core way..all for 1 pt!! I'll also use it for an occasional weekend drink, but mostly it's the 1 pt breads or a 2 pt snack. I do not make a habit of the snacks though, but will save those for Saturday evening as my treat for the week.
I find core so doable and so easy, like a no-brainer.
I've counted pts for 5 years...no can do anymore, oh course except for the one I HAVE to count.
Coco * I hope your husband is better. Goodness!!
Sandra * hang in there and do some self motivating talk or mental rehearing!! Remember your Winning Outcome!!! You can do this!!
I hope everyone else is doing well.
Jim has finally been cleared for surgery tomorrow. They've changed the time twice and we now have to be there at 7:30 a.m. and the surgery will start at 8:45. The surgery is expect to take 1 to 1 1/2 hours. I'm not sure how long the post-op recovery takes. It's outpatient so we should be home in the late morning/early afternoon. Then I begin to play nurse!
back, Elana. It's good to have you back here. Now to WPA's--I use them as needed. I don't have an ongoing plan. Congratulations on being down 10 pounds.
Rhonda, congratulations on being down 6 pounds. I'm ready to get back on track now. I'm tired of "eating."
Vickie, I'll be thinking of you and Jim tomorrow. Keep us posted when you can. I'm not going to WW in the AM either. I'll go back next week. I know that's not the right way to do it, but.....
I can't quite figure how "they" combined the two threads, but here we are, all on one thread..
I didn't have a good eating day, or, wait, maybe I did...just not a good CORE day
But, I did do some yesterday and today it was all I could do not to fall down on the ice on the sidewalks.
I've got an early day tomorrow, so I might not be on-line until tomorrow night...in the meantime...VICKIE....we are all thinking of you and your husband.
Rhonda, I hope I didn't sabotage you when I talked about what I'd eaten lately. I did 30 min on today. Life is good. Tomorrow it will be better because I'll be OP.
Well I went to weigh in on Monday and the lady there was shocked to hear that I already knew about the new program starting on the 9th and asked me how I found out about it...apparently it was supposed to be hush hush until the official launch (?) Anyway the conversation progressed and I told her about this web site and how great it was...then she went on to warn me that because it wasn't an official WW site I couldn't trust any of the information to be accurate. (Hmmm) I told her that when I was on the official WW site I couldn't find any recipes for core cornbread etc. and she almost popped a vein... apparently..."THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CORE CORNBREAD"... I explained that all of the ingredients used to make the cornbread were core so that's what made it core and she said that once you combine ingredients like that and "process" them they then become non core. Help me out here ladies...what's your take on this...is it Core or Non-core?
Hi Everyone
Well WW didnt go well last night. Gained again. Gained 1 pound.
Hubby is doing better. Finally. Is able to put a shoe on now. And wear it for a little bit.
LYTRICIA Hubby has tried the cherries. And they are to be tart cherries. Not with the sugar. Or at least that was what we were told. And also fresh cherries. But it didnt seem to help.
VICKIE how are you and hubby doing. You are in my prayers. Hope the surgery is a success.
ONTARGET that sounds like fun. Just sitting there on the porch enjoying the scene.
L.J. Thanks for asking. Hubby is doing better.
TEJAS Hope you had a good day.
ELENAJEL WELCOME!!!!
Well I am going to get off here for now.
Just wanted to check in.
Hope everyone had a great day.
I am thinking of each of you.
coco
We're home and the surgeon thinks the surgery was a success. Jim has pain pills and a pain ball. He's happy to be home and have this behind us. We have a snow storm moving in and I'm trying to line up someone to plow or snowblow for us. I feel nervous about doing it at my weight. I'll be back when I can in between nursing duties.
