"A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline." – Harvey Mackay

This motivational quote seemed to be talking to me today, since I have been making plans and have set a couple goals!!!! Pretty exciting for me... I usually avoid this type of thing.

Don't leave me now guys!!!!

Hi, I'm back...

Just finished dinner...steaks on my new George Forman Grill...does anyone else have this and LOVE it as much as I do? While my steaks were sizzling, I washed and prepared a bunch of asparagus, sprayed them with butter spray and sprinkled them with salt, threw them on the grill for maybe 2 minutes...MMM-MM GOOD! We had a salad with dinner and some canned corn (which I probably could have done without, but still need that starchy something...I'm carb addict all the way!) I even threw frozen chicken breasts on ol' George for my daughter and her friend...they took maybe 15 minutes to cook! I may actually cook every night with this thing!! It's too easy not to!

I love your quote, Lucky..."A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline." – Harvey Mackay
Words I plan to live by, Thank you!

My darling 16 year old daughter is having a New Years Party and the guests are starting to arrive...guess I'd better get some goodies together...I will NOT eat a chip!! Keep the goal in sight!

Again, have a wonderful, productive, healthy, joyous, glorious New Year!

I don't like the Foreman grill ~ threw mine out. Didn't even want a friend to have it and get mad at me. REASON: don't like my steaks or other meat "steamed." My reason got validated when I read a review article in a food type magazine. Much prefer grilling on the Webber and it cooks just as quick once the coals are going and the taste is much superior.

Now for those of you who love your GF - you go girls ~ grill.

Have a happy. Maggie

Talking Happy New 2002 !!!!

HAPPY NEW YEARS !!!!!! 2002

It was so nice to find so many posted while I was out for the evening.
We had a wonderful time. I was a little naughty.
I ate some popcorn at the movies. But I didn't eat any cheesecake for dessert. In fact I knew I would if they offered it to me ... so I left the table before they brought a dessert tray out to us. When I returned from the restroom my hubby already had the check. It was sooooo tempting. I just LOVE cheesecake.

I of course lost at the casino. I mainly play the quarter machines... but tonight I went from the quarter to the dime and then the nickel ones. I held my own for quite awhile... but lost in the end. Thank goodness I am not a big spender there. In fact... you could call me CHEAP.
My husband won some but nothing to brag about. Our dinner cost us more than we lost at the casino. LOL

It is now officially the new year. 2002. Everyone needs to be sure and eat some blackeyed peas for luck today.
I am not making a new years resolution. I always seem to break them.
Instead I am dedicating my life to a new life style. A new way of eating. A new POSITIVE attitude. AND I have no intention of breaking it. I am a new woman to go with this new year.

IT IS OUR YEAR LADIES !!!!! A new you in 2002 !!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Here is my Tuesday Tip . This one hit close to home for me because it is one of my big downfalls....BUT NOT in 2002.

Don't go hungry!
This is the most important weight loss tip of all.
Hunger is Public Enemy No 1 for anyone who wants to lose weight.
Kill it, stab it, stamp on it - do anything but don't let it get the upper hand.
NEVER let yourself go hungry.
If you do, you'll reach for something that makes you fat.

Ladybug...that is so true...I did that and then I ate something I shouldn't rationalizing that I didn't have anything for breakfast or lunch or whatever meal and that would counter! Wrong...if I ate breakfast or lunch it would have been much less calories!

I just had leftover roast beef for lunch today and I am still full. I guess there is some theory to the high protein low carb deal. Any comments or experience with this anyone?

Well I need to get the kid some dinner and give him a bath! I usually get stuff ready for work for us for tomorrow too! I'll catch up to you all tomorrow...have a great night!

Good Evening Ladies! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! You all are NOT going to believe what I'm doing while I'm typing to you!!! I'm watching Richie Poo on QVC!!!! Of course, Richie and I haven't been together in over a year, but in 2002 I plan on re-kindling our little fling! He's interviewing a gal that has lost 321#! She started at 515#. It took her 2 years to get this far. Wow, what a story. If she can do this, ladies, so can all of us! Let's go! 2002 is OUR YEAR!!!!

Syn: Glad to see you here! Commit to spending the few minutes everyday that it takes to just pop in here. It's well worth the trip!

LuckyLadyBug: I love all of your quotes. Here's one for your 'fear factor'. I was at a convention some years ago and there was a motivational speaker and I remember this quote to this day, "Do the thing you fear to do, and that's the death of fear!" * George would make a great reward! Good girl, thinking of non-food rewards!

Tazmani: I love the New Year's graphics!

Katrina: I love my George Foreman grill too! It makes the juiciest Chicken breasts in the world. YUM!!!

2cute: Ok, what's the story on the black-eyed peas??? I'm confused. Never heard of black-eyed peas for New Years. I have heard of running around the house barefoot in the first snowfall. It is related??? * Good job avoiding the cheesecake. What a great plan, to remove yourself from the table so you don't even have to make the decision on dessert!

Maggie: Wow, it's good to see you! Sorry, but I like my Foreman, of course I haven't tried any alternatives either. * How was it to be with family for the holidays for a change? Great, I bet!

Mary: How was your son's birthday? Did you throw him a party?

Michelle: There really is alot to having some protein in a meal. It staves off hunger alot longer than anything else. My WW leader says to always add protein to breakfast, even if it's just an Eggbeater or some PB on an English muffin.

I found this in the January edition of Family Circle and thought it would be good to start the New Year with:

No Fear Factor
Your ability to accomplish great things is often derailed by your inner critic, that naysayer who constantly criticizes you or amplifies your flaws. So when the voice of your insecurities gets too noisy, what's your best line of defense? Dina Weinberg, a life coach, suggests a technique adapted from the book The Artist's Way at Work: Riding the Dragon, by Mark Bryan. Pait a picture of your inner critic. "Give her a name, face, personality, wardrobe, mannerisms and modus operandus," says Weinberg. Then, when your inner critic surfaces, face her down. "Retrieve the image you've created and 'talk' to her," says Weinberg. "Ask yourself: Is my inner critic telling the truth about this situation or is she just playing on my insecurities? Listen to her, say thank you, then move on."

I think I caught up with everyone. If I missed someone, please forgive. I'm so glad to see all of you here.

It's a New Year and it's time for each of us to stop saying:
I should've eaten better today,
I would've but something came up and I ate on the fly without planning,
I could've done better, but I just didn't have the commitment I needed.
Post a 3x5 card on your bathroom mirror and on your fridge that says:
I will not SHOULD on myself today!
Let's pitch the should's, would's and could's from our lives!!
