Default Just getting started

I just wanted to say hello. I am a new member who is looking for support. I am starting my New Year out on a diet. I try not to say diet, because that is a depressing word. I perfer the words cutting back. At this moment I am depressed. It seems as though I just keep eating, and hoping the weight will go away, silly I know. I would be grateful for any encourging words.

Thanks,

Metoo

Angry Don't be depressed...you can do it

Hi there metoo

I hear what your saying about strting the year off with a diet...now for as long as I can remember I have started every year out the same way and last year was no exception. the only difference last year was that I had failed by 3rd January....that was until 9th february when I finally got my act together.
I weighed in on 9th february 2001 at 355lbs and as of my last weigh in which was 28th december I was down to 234lbs, making a total loss for the year 2001 121lbs.
So don't lose heart you can do it if you really set your mind to it.
I still have 92lbs left to lose to reach my final goal of 142lbs, I am determined I will do it this year, so once again I am starting the year off as I always do...only this year I know I will reach my goal before I give up.

If you would like to keep in touch for moral support I would love to be there for you.
Please pop over to my webpage, the address is at the bottom of this post to read more about me and also to look at my gallery to see how I am doing.
If you would like to email me you can find my email address on the page too.
how much weight do you want to lose and what eating plan are you following?

I wish you luck in reaching your goal

Welcome to 3FC's Metoo. You have come to great place for support. It has been really slow in here during the holidays... but I guarantee it will pick up after Jan 2nd.

I think we have all suffered from depression as a result of our weight problems. But let that be a thing of the past. Join us in an exciting journey of losing this weight once and for all.

Ali... what an inspiration your story is. I can't wait to go check out your web page. Congratulations!!!!

Default Thanks for Responding

Ali
Hi, and thank you for responding so quickly. I was not sure about the site, but now I am glad I signed in. It was great hearing about you, and you have done so great I know you will meet your goal. Just keep up the faith. I know with your encourging words I can do it. I am going to try to drink lots of water and no sweets. It has been where every time my mouth opens, I shove something sweet in it. I know I am out of control. I knew when I was telling myself as long as no one could see me eat it they would not know. But the truth was that they could see, because the pounds were showing up. I am going to try to lose 60lbs with Gods help. I hope we can keep in touch I would like that.

Thanks Again

Metoo

Hi, MeToo,

I'm also new here as of a few minutes ago. I am also trying a fresh start for the New Year (aren't we all??) and prefer to think of it as my new 'healthy lifestyle' rather than a diet. To me, the word diet is connected to punishment somehow.

Anyway, I do this every year - no, wait - I do this every WEEK. A couple of years ago, I joined Weight Watchers and lost 30 lbs., which was about halfway to my goal. But I've gained it all back +, with a vengeance. But instead of being depressed, let's take charge of our lives. Whaddaya say?

Need2bfit and MeToo Welcome to both of you....

I currently post on Non-Diet Approach and 300+ threads so jump in whenever you want.

MeToo I know what you are saying and, for the first time, have been spending a lot of time planning for this year - making charts and setting goals.

I am proud to say that I have actually journaled my food today for the first time ever. I keep telling myself this is FUN!!! I hope I believe it.

Anyway, I hope to see you posting on the same threads I do or just jump into anyone of them that appeal to you.

Hi everyone

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Meto, I definitely have faith in myself that I can reach my goal this year, and I also know that if you have enough encouragement and support you can reach your goal too...everyone can.

Need2Bfit...I agree entirely with what you say about the word diet feeling like a punishment...to me a diet means there is something you can't have and that just doesn't do it for me
You have the right attitude too...don't beat yourself up over gaining back the weight you lost with weight watchers...just climb back up on that big ole wagon, dust yourself down and start again

LuckyLadyBug...congratulations on starting the new year off with a plan....knowing what you are going to do is a big help.
I know I wouldn't have got this far if I hadn't kept a journal, and that is the one piece of advice I would give anyone...nothing gets into my mouth before I have written it in my journal and worked out how many calories are in it and how many I have left

good luck to you all as we start the new year...lets make this one the year we all reach our goals
