Default ? for Wannabe

I know with a 16 pound weight loss in 5 weeks you must be following the eating program pretty closely, but are you exercising too? If so, what kind and for how long? I weigh as much as you did when you started...I'm going to succeed! I am just going to use you for my consience and guilt. LOL You know...if I'd stuck with the program I could be you now.

Lisa:

I do follow the program pretty closely. My personality tends to need structure and rules. As far as exercise is concerned, I am a member at a all womens gym and I would like to say that I exercise all the time however I go in spells..I haven't been in two weeks because of all the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Plan to start back next week--when I am on a regular schedule I try to go 2-3 times a week. My routine is weight lifting coupled with 15-30 min of walking on the treadmill and the other night(or nights if I am really motivated) I take hour long step classes. If I don't go to the gym then I try to take a 15 min walk around my neighborhood, but I haven't done that even in about 2 weeks because it has been cold(and I have been lazy). Exercise is very important, I know, but I think that one of the greatest factors in my weight loss has been WATER, WATER, WATER--I drink about 6 12oz glasses a day. On the average, sometimes more.
My first two weeks in ww make up for the majority of my weight loss. The following is my progress chart
Wk 1 loss of 6.5 lbs(drank more than my quota of water)
wk 2 loss of 5 lbs (same thing about the water)
wk 3 loss of .2 of a lb**this really bummed me out, but a loss is a loss and I had gotten slack on my water intake, so I vowed to pick it up again and went back to my orginial quota. The results showed the next week**
wk 4 loss of 2.7 lbs(I swear it's all that water, plus following the program)
wk 5 loss of 1.5 lbs ( I am still drinking water, but substituting a diet drink for a glass of water now and then.)

I Started at 160.5 lbs and at my last weigh in I was 144.5lbs--I gained 2 lbs over the Holiday--but I am back op--and as near as I can tell I have lost 1 of those lbs , so by weigh in next week I hope to be at the very most back to the 144.5 that was at my last weigh in--if I have lost more then great, but at this point I am just hoping for not having a gain.
Lisa, I know that I have answered more than just your question, but I hope all this information really helps-- I just can't stress the water part enough. We have one guy at my meeting that swears he drinks 2 gallons of water a day(Whew!! I am not sure I could do that) and he has had wonderful success.

Anyway, I hope this helps. If I can answer anything else for you let me know--I try to check this forum on a pretty regular basis. I am also a part of a great group over at the "buddy up" forum--the thread is "I need a challenge-Anyone interested # 23" started by stubby. We all post pretty regular and help each other with our struggles and celebrate our successes--we would love to have you join us or you are welcome to send me a pm.

Good luck to you!!
