Hallo everyone!

Not allot going on over here, still OP. I have lost 1lbs since I am back from leave.

Schooby - good for you on the 1.8lbs lost! And enjoy that trip with DH.

Adoannie – we don’t have children but we often go with friends to see their kids in school concerts, we make a point of not missing one of them!

Chickadee – Yesterday evening I really enjoyed my reward meal, I did what you said I didn’t taste any of the food before the time, and really enjoyed my meal. I even had some fruit for desert. I felt satisfied and finished way before the 60 minutes was over. You have lost 30lbs, how long did it take you?

MamaJ –Tight Christmas, I know the feeling, same here in the Southern side of Africa……

Pooky – I promise you I will never ever do that again, I know that it is very dangerous to start with, thank you that I was in a position to be able to share it with someone and to have my bud kicked back on track.

Dondar – following the CAD plan I don’t think I will ever feel deprived again. I just hope I will lose weight on this plan, Atkins did work but at times it is a bit unpractical.

Ruthxx – I hope your day is not that hectic again, take some time for yourself my friend….

To the rest of you have a nice day and here is a hug for all of you…..

Good Thursday Morning to all!

Typical day here, except for the warm days, I was wearing shorts yesterday. Picked up the boys Christmas Pictures from Penny's, and they were great. Showed them to dh and all he said was Don's tie was crooked! He always has some comment like that for their pictures, which I adore. Last year Don's smile was crooked, and the year before that he did not like the white backround. I just hate that, can't he say something nice first.
Oh well, I love the pics.

Ruth, hope you had a nice visit with Hershey.

Hensa, hope cad works for you.

Hey Scooby, I was up at 4:30 coloring my hair!

have a nice day!

Morning chicks!

Great to see everyone up and clucking!

It's a beautiful (but colder) day in the neighborhood. I've been sharing Annie's almost 70 degree weather for the past two days -- and managed to get my porch decorated before it changed. Good girl, me!

Have lots to get done in the next few days. The house is full of decoration boxes, my kitchen is 1/2 painted so all the stuff from the walls is piled on the dining room table. And we're having company for dinner this weekend. Good incentive!

The weight loss is coming along, slowly but surely. I'm so grateful for learning in low carb literature how far some extra protein and a extra fat will go toward keeping me satisfied. I'm learning a lot from my meetings but when someone says they can eat an apple to keep from getting hungry -- I am NOT relating!

One more week of classes! Grading research papers and then I'm done for the semester!! Yee haw!

Have a great one! It's a gift!

Another April day up here in the so-called frozen north. It feels like I should be out there planting my peas and spinach.

I got my shopping FINISHED yesterday and will be done wrapping today- says she, crossing fingers. I got DH some boring clothes - like sweaters, shirts and a "barn" jacket. Also an alarm clock of his own so I don't need to get him up in the mornings by hollering. I am also getting him a GF grill - a gift that I want so it's a double-barrelled gift. We are always planning to BBQ in the winter but it's too damned cold and dark out there in January.

DH went off to get his fasting blood sugar tested this a.m. so I waited to cook my bacon and eggs. How come he never waits when I go for my blood tests? Men have to be the most ego-centric critters on this earth! Anyhow he is home now and crabbing that there are no eggs. Guess who has had the correct change and the empty egg cartons in his car for three days? We get our eggs from a farm nearby. So fresh and they are double yolked at this time of year. Where is that chicken lady to explain why? I think it has something to do with the hens being new layers - rookies who have not perfected the egg bit as yet.

Hope everyone has a productive, relaxing and OP day!

Default Good Morning Chickies!

Hey there gang! I've been lurking but not posting - just too dang busy but trying to keep up with everybody.

I have been OP all week and I'm feeling good about it too! OP for me is drinking 80 oz of water, walking, journaling, counting calories and watching those carbs that I dearly love! Sure feels good to be good!

Hope everybody has a great day and hope I get to chat with somebody in the chatroom *hint* *hint* *hint*

have a great OP day!

hugs, Cathy

Not so good morning here-sigh....

When it rains it pours--not minutes after I spent $350 on paint for the floor and walls in the basement do I discover that I have to take my car to the dealership to get the dash lights and brake lights fixed. Charming, eh? But then again, that's how it always is--2 steps forward to take one step back.

Only one more package to send out and the official Christmas mailing is complete! Now to do the tiny cards for my dd's daycare friends. I am attaching 2 mini candy canes to each card and for the teachers I bought a small box of chocolates for each of them. The whole shebang cost me only $30 and it serves over 30 people!

Hensa, I'm glad to hear it. I think you'll really like CAD, I'm doing CALP myself and it works for me

Good Morning to all my chick friends and happy Christmas shopping (except you Ruth since you're done!)

Hi,

I'm a busy girl trying (trying being the operative word) to get caught up at work after being gone for 3 days. Saturday morning I leave for Pensacola, FL until Monday on business. Two weekends away from home without DH is really depressing me.

I confess that I binged & purged Tuesday. I don't know what came over me, but I felt like cr*p physically & emotionally all day
yesterday & my size 12 jeans were tight. I wore 10's just 2 weeks ago. Anyway, I started the Atkins fat fast yesterday & will continue through Friday. Hopefully I'll drop a few pounds fast.

Hensa - As you can read, I am no stranger to purging. PLEASE STOP NOW! I have been suffering with this for a while now and it's no fun. Stop while you can. Don't let it get out of control.

Have a great day all!

Cheesecake, cheesecake, cheesecake -- cheater, cheater, cheater!!! (But, at least it was CHEESEcake!)

I haven't hardly posted this week -- I am PACKING!!! We are moving OUT of my parents house this weekend (doing a SERIOUS happy dance here). DH will be home in just 16 short days and I will be occupied with getting the new house in order! Never lived in a house before, always a duplex or apartment. (Still renting, because we'll transfer in a few months.)

Wish I could stay around and address you each individually, but alas -- got to continue PACKING!!!

Have a GREAT day! Stay away from the cheesecake!!!

Hi Everyone!!! The cold is back!!!!! Brrr!!!!It might help me get my mindset on Christmas though. That warm weather didn't have me thinking Christmasy thoughts--more like grilling out thoughts!! I did some Christmas shopping done and would have to say I am about 3/4 done--no wrapping done though! That always takes forever. I really need to get my Christmas letter written and cards sent out too. Too much to do too little time huh? I made it through OP yesterday also Not weighing myself yet though. I am retaining fluid big time. My rings are even tight. Since right now I am doing CAD, I am wondering if it is the carb I include in my dinner last night

Don't have time to post to all of you--the kids are about back from art---Have a good day and take care of yourselves!!!!

Good morning everyone.
My DD is home sick for the second day in a row. Her stomach is really hurting. Poor baby (even though she's almost 12, she's still my baby!)
I finally got the last of my kitchen cabinets painted. You would think that with as many cabinets as I have that I would never run out of storage room - wrong! I sure have gotten rid of a lot of crap though. We are major accumulators in my house!

Hensa - I've been doing CAD since the first of September, but my weight loss is slowing down now. I know it's to be expected, but I want it all off NOW! I did this program before and lost at about the same rate.

Jenny - I colored my hair last week and the grays are popping out again! I always used to have it done by my hairstylist, but since I quit my job I figured I'd save money. I might have to spring for someone to do it so that it "takes"! No roots though.

Ruth - I'm hoping for a GF myself. We grill all year round and there are days that going out in a snowstorm (even if the grill is just outside the door) totally doesn't cut it! But where to put it in my full, (but clean and shiny) cabinets?

AdoAnnie - I tend to retain a lot of fluid too - like today! So, I'm slamming down as much water as I can because it really does seem to help.

Pooky - Slow down girl! You're making me tired! Paint, craft, wrap, shop, go, go, go. Can I have some of that extra energy please?

I gotta go, but it was nice talking to you all!
Later,
Chickadee

Hi Chicks. Today I went to my women's club annual Christmas pot luck luncheon. I had brought a salad that fit with my WW plan but there wasn't much else that I could eat and stay OP. Some years we're lucky in that we get a nice assortment of foods but this year there was an abundance of desserts. Just what i need....NOT...but I indulged anyways. Yep, I blew it and the day before my weigh-in too, darn it. Now I'm guzzling water like crazy hoping I'll flush that chocolate slice, lemon pie, date bar and trifle right out of my system.
Next year I'm going to suggest that we all chip in on the ingredients for a nice turkey and/or ham dinner and those who cook can do the preparation. Lots of our members are seniors living in seniors' residences where they don't cook or live in their own homes but don't do much cooking or baking anymore. It seems that so often our potluck luncheons wind up being really heavy on starchy casseroles and desserts instead of meat and veggies.
Nice to see so many Chicks reporting in these days. Whether you're doing well OP or having problems, we love to hear from you and maybe staying in touch will help keep us all OP.
