Default No longer a lurker...

Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am almost done with Phase 1, down 5 lbs (started at 151 lbs.) I used to be a WW'er but got so bored with it, and felt so hungry after my wheat puff and banana breakfast, that I figured there was something to this glycemic index worth checking out. I am loving SB, and am excited to start phase 2, but am so worried that it won't work. This way of eating is too good to be true.

Anyways, trying to lose the baby weight from baby #2. Had her in January. I was 124 lbs when I got pregnant (thanks to WW) and gained so much weight! 55 lbs! Can't wait to fit into those size 4's again...

Just wanted to introduce myself and hold myself accountable for following through with this,

Don't worry about it working...cause it does!!!

I have lost 7 pounds in the three weeks since moving to phase 2...I am happy and quite satisfied with the results!

Welcome aboard...grab a chair and cool refreshing glass of water with some nice lime!

Welcome!

This is my first day on Phase 1, and I am really enjoying it. I had ham and cheese roll-ups for breakfast (2% natural swiss cheese with mayo and dijon mustard wrapped around very lean ham slices). This was hours ago. That with my tea and I am still full. I can't believe it. I'm the type of person who can eat all day.

I can see why South Beach is so popular. When I was on WW I was starving all the time too.

Welcome, gonnabeamilfagain! You'll find a lot of great support and advice here. SBD is great and very easy to follow. There also are a lot of recipes on this site to keep things interesting. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone. I have 2 questions:

Do those of you who have had success with SB- do you really eat dessert? I love that we can have dark chocolate in P2. How much? How often? I know he says "sparingly" and it can be every day. Really?

Also, I made a ticker with my weight loss, and can't get it to post. How do I do that?

Hi there! I am on day 4 of P1...it's going pretty well. I can say I am not hungry most of the time. I did have a sweet tooth today so I had a mint. Good luck!

I have sf jello and sf cool whip for dessert... I am usually not too hungry at night. Good luck!

gonnabe - to the boards! Sounds like you're doing just great...keep up the good work!


brnagain - I just started SBD on Tuesday. I'm a WW Lifer who has gained back her weight! I just couldn't bare going to meetings this time around, so here I am! Plus...what's that Einstein quote? 'Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.' I thought it was time for me to do something 'different'!

gonnabe - the way I got my Ticker is: I clicked on someone else's Ticker, went through the steps and at the last step, the first box listed is the one to use for 3FC. Highlight the text in the box, copy it, go to your User CP (at the top of the page), click Edit Signature and paste it in the Signature box; then click Save Signature.

bella, I love that definition of insanity! I joined WW over and over and over again, thinking it was me, that I just had no willpower. Now I know it was their diet. Actually now that I think about it, I come from a family full of diabetics, so I figure that because of my genetics I have to be real careful about the carbs I eat. I like that South Beach is good carb, not low carb. I am going to have a homemade spinach soup with garbanzo beans for lunch.

I can't believe this is a "diet"!

Red face Congrats and now I'm gonna do it this time

Hi there gonnabeamilfagain (LOVE the name!!) I planned to start p1 the 1st week of April and lasted 2 days and then went to a fancy restraunt with the boyfriend and that was all over (he is such a bad influence) he does not try to be, just loves to wine and dine me...anyhoo, I am restarting on Monday. Went grocery shopping last night, so I am prepared. Going to the beach this weekend, and am going to enjoy it....I am so excited about doing this and chatting with everyone about the trials and tribulations....

So HELLO to everyone! I look forward to doing this for real this time!

So glad you decided to join us. Please don't be afraid of moving into Phase 2. You will continue to lose weight. It does work! Try adding one food item to your day...a fruit or a whole grain item....and wait a few days before adding one more. Eventually, you will find the balance of what your body needs and what amount will still allow you to lose weight. And, please come back to chat with us each day. We are here to offer any support or encouragement you need.
