Cool... so I hope no one minds if I start the thread this morning. I'm always worried people will start one at the same time. Ack!
It's good o be back and I look forward to getting to know everyone.
I'm back on major track to reach 160 by Christmas. I went to the gym yesterday and also banked 4 points. I went grocery shopping yesterday and picked up the best stuff. Lot of low point foods and fruits and veggies. I have THE hardest time getting in 2-3 fruits and veggies... much less the 5-6.
Hey Lisa! I'm lurking mainly today. I've got several loans that are wanting to close, plus I was late this morning, so I don't want to piss of the boss even more.
Will be back later! Have a great day!!!!
Lisa - Nice to meet you! You sound very motivated - Keep it up!! Hopefully some of that will rub off on me! I lost 30 pounds 2 years ago, put back on 5 over the course of the past year and have struggled for months to lose them. I am beginning to believe that my body just likes being this weight!
Stacey - Hi! Hang in there - one more day till Friday!
Trish - No, the boy hasn't called. This is why I hate the dating world. You seem to have a great time and then don't hear from him again - it sucks. Oh well! I guess he wasn't the one for me then. By the way, I also love Ann Taylor and the Loft!! I shop there all of the time (am wearing an outfit from the Loft today!) but have a hard time with their pants. I am 5'8", so not as tall as you, but my legs are really long (34 inch inseam) so I always have a hard time with pants not being long enough. But I wear more skirts anyway and I LOVE their skirts! They are especially cute with my new tall black boots!! (I told you I have a shopping problem!)
Jen - OMG! TEll me about it! Dating sucks. First, I have this aweful admission... I'm 26 years old and have been on only a handful of dates. I think because of my weight - guys thought of me as "their friend." But as the weight has come off, the guys have become interested. BUT - they s*ck! They act SO interested and we have a great time... and then they don't call. I don't quite understand. And when you meet a boy and hit it off, why in the heck would they ask for my number if they don't plan on using it?? The last two weeks have been entertaining to say the least. Then I met a guy at a hockey game on Friday and he was so excited that he met a girl who loved hockey. We chatted it up and he was great. HE got my number and said he'll call and we can go to a game sometime. Then he asked if I'd want to get dinner sometime this week. I said Sure. Did he call? Nope. Sorry - I thought I'd ramble.
Lisa - I am so glad I now have you to talk to about the trouble with dating. Almost everyone else here is married, engaged or with boyfriend, so I feel so alone in this sometimes! I had a blind date last week and we had a great time - we started out at a sports bar watching the world series and ended up staying out until 4 am drinking and talking. Since then, nothing. It is soooooo frustrating! I guess with each one I learn a little more...
Just thought I'd let you know that I feel your pain!!
Jen, if he does call, then act cool and aloof. If he asks you out, do it on your terms! My mom always told me to play the field and I never listened!! Until Brett, and look where it got me!
I agree with Tilley, though. I didn't ever go on lots of dates until I lost the weight...the first time. I did it with Pondimin and Phen...
I was under the care of my doctor, saw him weekly. I lost the weight by eating right and excercising with the pills as a crutch. However, I gained the weight back when the pills were pulled.
It was all in my head, I thinK!!! But, with WW, I can lose without being medicated.
Now look who's rambling!!!
Getting back to work,
Jen, I'm glad too. I feel like I'm the last single girl on earth. Actually, that would be nice, because then I'd have my pick of the single guys. My new plan of action is to get out there. Make new friends... because I think the best thing would be to meet a friend of a friend... to network. I'm getting so sick of being single. Was it game 7 that y'all watched? That was Saturday. Maybe he's the type to wait for the upcoming weekend to call. Of course we can't get our hopes up either. Good luck! We'll have to keep one another posted.
Stacy - that's awesome. Where did it get you. Are y'all married? How long have you been together? Look at those stats. Awesome!
Haha! Brett and I met on a blind date. He called me two nights later. We dated for 2 1/2 years before he proposed. We were married on July 7, 2001. I started WW in Jan of 2000. I'm ready to reach my goal, even though my mind set is not WW oriented!
I snack too much! Oh well, keep on plugging!!
Kim: Have you heard from Belle? She hasn't been around since her BF asked her to move in??!?!!! Belle, where are you??
How about Sarah and Shalyne, too? Kirsty, Lolly, JenL, Tonya,
where is everyone???
I just got my nails done so typing is very slow right now.
I'm going to heat up my WW lunch now, toO! It's the Grilled Chicken with Potato Gnocchi! YUMMY!!~ It's one of my favs!
Hey Tilley! welcome back! I was wondering what happened to my fellow Bostonian!!!! (Although now I live in Shrewsbury!) Glad to see you are still being successful OP!!!
I am doing well this week-mostly OP-I WI tomorrow, so we'll see...I like reading about everyone's dating lives-need to live vicariously now that I am engaged!!!
I think my bridal shower is this weekend-a friend let it slip that she talked to my mom, and then I checked the on line registry, and things are being bought!!! It's so cool....but I am not supposed to know...I can't tell my mom-b/c she would be so upset if she found out it wasn't a surprise
BUT, I can make DF's life miserable trying to get me there IF I were really mean, which I'm not!!! i will tell him that I know, eventually....I am trying to see how he is going to get me there...it should be interesting!!! Bye for now-hi to everyone!!!
Hey girls! Sorry I have been away, but I moved to a cubicle and things were so hectic, I had no time to write!
We got the apt for Nov 15, so I am pumped!! B/f is excited too, which is great….I have not had time to read the posts I have missed, just today, but I'll catch up on the weekend!
Hi Lisa - you sound so committed, send me some of your resolve!!
Lori - have fun at your shower and good luck at WI - mine is tomorrow too , but TOM just arrived, so I am worried!
Stacey - there is hope for me!! Maybe in another year B/f will propose??
Kim - hey, how is it going? Did you post your flapper pics??
Jen - take Stacey's advice, its good!! Don't worry, men are like parking spots - most of the time the good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped, but once in a while you find a good one. I can relate, you aren't alone!!
Well, I have to go to a lunch meeting- pizza….yikes….hard to resist!!
Belle, If my memory serves me right... you had the boyfriend that you were having trouble getting to commit???? Is this the one? Excellent work. He finally came to his senses. Belle, I loved your saying about parking spots. I told that to my friends and they got a kick out of it. But actually... it's not too encouraging because I live in Boston.. and I know how hard it is to find parking. I broke down and paid for a parking spot. I'm afraid if I applied that to men, I might get arrested.
Lori - Have fun at the shower. Shrewsbury, huh. Cool. We New Englanders have to stick together. Did you go to school around here? I went to BU.
Stacey - it's a lovely story. Without sounding too pathetic, I'm wondering if I'll ever get married. My batting average isn't so great. It's not that I'm looking right now... I mean I'm not even close to being ready for something like that. Although I was hoping I'd get hitched before I turned 30 - and the way things are looking, I'm not so sure.
I was almost done with a reply and POOF! It disappeared. I have no idea what I did. Oh, well. Here goes again.
Belle: I was just going to email you! Glad you're doing well. The big move is really soon! No, I haven't posted the flapper pic yet because I can't figure out how to make it smaller. It was emailed to me as a jpg file but when I try to attach it here, I get a message that it's too big. Any advice, anyone?
Jen, Trish: You two have the reverse problem with pants than I have (and I bet Lisa has, too). It's hard to find pants that aren't long! The summer-style Capri pants were great because they came about to my ankles, but they don't really work for colder weather. It's hard to find petite clothes that are above a size 12, too. I have one pair of black pants that are size 16 petite, and I wear them to death.
