I would love to join this thread! I'm running an average of 3-4 miles about 5 days a week. This was a perfect idea because there is a pretty substantial difference between running 1 mile or 15

I did 4 this morning. I'm still adjusting to the new shoes I bought last weekend, but I'm thinking I might be in love with them! I feel like I'm running on air sometimes

I actually got myself out of bed at 4:30 and out for a 3.99 mile run before work. My body is playing tug of war, one side being happy that I got a run in before the heat of the day and work, the other side now feeling like I could easily take a nap. All in all, not bad problems to have, right?

Welcome, angiemama and well done on your consistency! You're racking up some good miles Like you, I fall in love with each and every new pair I buy so I know exactly how you're feeling!

I ran HIIT intervals at the gym this morning...my running is weather-dependent this summer because if it's nice I have a 2.5 mile route that I run in the early morning outside (mostly run, a little walk)...and if it's raining or, like today, pouring buckets then I go to the gym in the early morning

Whoa, looks like this thread needs a bump and some action!

It's been a very busy week at work for me. Three consecutive days between two different work retreats. Somehow I feel that even though I've been away from my desk, the retreat work was much harder. It's one thing to be alone with your thoughts and tasks, it's another having your thoughts and input actively solicited without crossing lines or inadvertently hurting someone's feelings in the process.

Good to be back at it. Ran 4.09 miles after work this evening and it felt good!

How is everyone else doing?

We're having some unusually cool and pleasant weather in my area. Ran 4.09 miles during my lunch hour. The mild summer rain felt refreshing and helped to keep me cool. Can't ask for much more, right?

I get up at 5 a.m. and do some sort of running....either outside if it's nice weather or at the gym...I run from 5:30-6 more or less....then I go home, make DH his coffee, get washed up and ready for the day and out the door by 6:45 a.m....I work 7:15-3 p.m. straight, no lunch break etc although I can eat while at work....then I go home, pick up younger son and run errands...then I go back home, clean up in the house and take a break before dinner busy busy

I've been MIA from this thread for a while, but am still here and still running. After my last post my knees started to give me some problems so took a break, continued on with other exercise, and have slowly returned to running. I'm doing the July exercise challenge with the goal of 100 miles in any mileage exercise combination. However, I want my running mileage to be the most. We'll see. Hoping to stay healthy in mind and body.

I'm an inbetween runner. Glad to see there are others out there like me!

I have taken a break from running (I had some surgery in May) but I'm trying to ramp back up. I'd like to do my first half marathon at the beginning of next year.

Welcome to the fold, grneyedmustang! I'm glad you found this thread because lately I feel like a voice in the wilderness when I post. I hope you're healing well from your surgery and will be back to running as soon as your body gives you the green light. While I haven't had surgery I think I've struggled more this year health and injury wise than I ever have. My running seems to be one step forward two steps back, but I persist

"In-between" definitely describes how I feel about my running abilities. I've been running for 2 years on and off. There was a point last year where spontaneous 15k jogs were normal for me. I've been struggling with shin splints for the past few months and haven't been able to get past 5k for a while now. I've decided to work on my 5k time for now (I've always been more of a distance runner).

I ran 4.5 k last night in exactly 30 mins, which is an improvement from my 40 min 5ks 2 months ago.

Welcome, beth1789! Ah, yes, shin splints...I struggled with those myself last year. They weren't horrible, but definitely noticeable enough to curtail my running for a few weeks. Along with not running I did R.I.C.E. therapy and that helped.

Sounds like you're getting back into things at a good pace and for what is good for your body. Great job on your run last night! I hope you keep posting

Since ya'll mentioned shin splints, I know that running is hard on your body (was diagnosed with runner's knee a few years ago) - and I've noticed that since I haven't been running my knees don't bother me.

Does anyone have suggestions on dealing with runner's knee and overall joint issues? I take glucosamine and chondroitin, which seems to help some, but it's amazing what not running has done for my joints.

Also - how often do you run during the week?
