  • I am thrilled to announce (drum roll please) that I hit my goal for the month on Christmas morning - Merry Christmas to me! I am so excited to start the next month! Got in two 3-mile walks over the Holiday weekend. But, alas, its snowing like crazy today and they are predicting 3-4 inches. Probably no walks this week! Have to get out my WATP tapes or see if I can dig the stationary bike out of the closet.

    Hope everyone had a great Holiday and are all back in the saddle again!

    That sounds like an enjoyable outing for you and your granddaughter, and a nice treat after a good week. I love seeing movies, but I often find myself telling my husband that I don't want to go lately because I know I can't resist the popcorn. When we do go I usually do indulge and have some, and I really wanted it last night, but I wanted this water weight off more, lol. The cinnamon candy worked perfectly to keep my mouth busy during the movie, though, so I'll use that trick the next time I need to.

  • Thanks chickadee32, that's exactly what I needed to hear! Today is my first day to be completely back on track since Christmas. I've been slacking on the exercising, but will take care of that today.

  • Well. Thanks to the holidays I'm back at needing to lose 7 lbs. Gained five over 3 days. But back on the grind an will be happy if I can just lose those 5 that I put back on
  • This has been a very interesting month for me weightwise. I've stuck to my plan, exercised like a fiend, been very active otherwise and my weight hasn't budged since I hit 278. I've spoken with the dietitian and doctor about it and they both said the same thing... I'm doing everything right, just be patient.

    Hoping everyone has a great New Year's eve.
  • well...I was down 4 lbs, then I gained 4 lbs thanks to TOM...now I have a stomach bug but haven't lost anything (oddly enough). Thank goodness there is always next month! Congrats Chickadee and Sutter on making goal!! I plan for my name to be in the RED next month
  • The scale inched down a lb . . . barely, but it did.

    Let's all get back in the saddle and ride hard!

    Ariannag: Has some of that 5 lbs been coming off the last few days? At least some of it had to have been water weight - it's the devil around these holidays!

    Leslie: It's can be sooo difficult to be patient when the scale isn't moving. If you stick with it though, you WILL see the rewards for all your hard work in a lower number at some point. Keep in mind that if you've been exercising more or more intensely than usual, that can make your body hold on to water weight as it gets adjusted to the change (the muscles get inflamed with all that new activity!). Keep at it - you're doing a great job!

    tavvy: Congratulations on seeing the scale down 4 lbs this month!! You know that it's fat you've already lost, and when TOM takes off so will the extra lbs. You're done really well.

    loose seal: Way to go on another pound lost!! Every lb is one step closer to our goals. I see you posting all over the place on this forum, and I think that's awesome - sticking around here is a great way to stay motivated.


    I'm going to get our January thread started, but I hope everyone else will check in and let us know how they finished up the month! Kudos to everyone who stuck it out here through the holidays and everyone who lost weight this month - January should be a breeze by comparison!!

    I went the wrong way on the scale this month. Blah. Ah well January is a new month.
