Yesterday afternoon.. 3.2 miles on the treadmill... usual incline intervals.. I am working out my schedule .. I plan on waking up early (whether I exercise in the morning or not), eating a healthy breakfast and bringing a nice lunch to work.. above all to take care of myself every way that I can..

Lena!! I followed you into the sign-up challenge thread.. You are credited for getting me of my *** and onto the treadmill.. I am serious....

Now you are going to drop? None of us want you to go or stay because you feel pressured.. but I want you to know that the whole idea of a group challenge is why I joined up. I knew that people wouldn't be concerned about how many miles I was doing.. but how many we had accumulated and how they were doing against their own personal goals.

My legs are just now not feeling sore. I know I overdid it for a few days but I was just so excited an inspired. I don't know what it was about you and this challenge.. but I owe this burst of energy and conscious effort to do something about my health to this challenge and you. I know the rest is up to me... but you got me started...

Lena.. if you do decide to drop anyway because it is too much.. I still want to be a friend.. Please hang around close by..

Monday's mileage: 5 miles

I barely made 10000 steps yesterday. I HAVE to bump it up if I want to hit my million by Easter!

Happy Tuesday!

Michele

PS: Lena--I hope you stay! We can use whatever steps you can add AND we want to get to know you along the way!

Okay, sorry I'm late... I've got my pedometer set up, I think, but I'm still confuzzled about the steps/miles thing. According to the instructions that came with my ped I have a very short stride and 5000 steps is a mile for me (going left-right-left). Hmmm... well, it also calculates milage, so starting today I'll start jotting that down instead of # of steps to make it easier for our walk leaders to add up. So, here goes:

Date: 3/26
Miles: 1 mile

Date: 3/27
Miles: 3 miles

Total so far: 4 miles

Not too bad for a chronic couch potato!

My contribution for Monday wasn't too swell... only 1.28 miles! There's a reason for that, though. I just got a brand new game that I've been wanting for awhile and I literally played it ALL DAY LONG. I had a blast, but today I've promised myself that I won't be playing it at all until after I've exercised for at least an hour. Talk about motivation

Hrm, I just realized that I haven't been keeping with the format I'm supposed to. A day late and a dollar short, hahaha.

Days that the steps or miles were logged: 3/27
Steps/miles for that time: 1.28 miles
Total number of steps/miles, to date in the challenge: 6.52 miles

I'm a little late with contribution as well. Better late than never. I only got in 2 miles of walking yesterday. I really need to get me a pedometer so I can count the steps I chase after my daughter that would add up to alot. Anyways, this is really fun.

Hi all,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I ran 2 miles this morning - speed work for me today. If I can cut another 1:12 off my time, I'll be running sub 10 minute miles. Woo!

Happy walking, everyone!

Cheers!

You seem to be having very bad luck with your pedometers, Misti! Hopefully your Omron will last you a long time. You got the HJ-112 model, right? I absolutely love mine. And I've had no more scratches ever since I put clear tape on mine!
