OK FlSun this is my recommendation on the weight thing. It sounds like you got a good start on the free weights. But if you decide to go and get a rack and have all dumb bells I would highly recommend looking into what we got. It is a dumb bell set that goes from 1 to 100 lbs by locking the weight in. They are so cool. You don’t have a thousand weights all over the place they just take up minimal space and you have everything you need with one thing. My son is a power lifter and wanted them when he was still living at home so we bought them to save room. Plus they seemed to cost much less than a full set of dumb bells. Also if you are looking for a bench and bar with free weights I would look in your classified ads first. People buy that stuff and then don’t know what there doing and want to get rid of it. You can buy them for a fraction of the retail cost. My co worker recommended looking at articles in shape magazine for good workout information with weights. I can not say for sure what is in it as I have not looked into myself. I like Gina’s recommendation of Jillian M’s book. It seems to work for the folks on BL. Good Luck!
Pretty quite weekend for me. To cold for riding. My DH rode to couple of meetings he had this weekend and about froze. I told him he was getting to old for that. I told him I wasn’t going out unless it was 60 plus degree’s. He just laughed at me.
Hi to each of and all of you! Holly glad you are posting more reg.! Well Chicks have a good one and keep on keep’n on!

I soooo appreciate it! You guys are THE BEST!
I do wish I could find a DVD that I could pop in to show me the correct way to do it, I hate stopping to look at pictures in a book!
It's the bad, Bad, BAD psycological thing for me...I see "another new beginning" with the arrival of our Gazelle, so I have been eating things I never would in anticipation of "starting again". That's the thing I MUST overcome! Thankfully, the scale shows no movement, I don't know how!
Well...TODAY IS GAZELLE DAY! I checked w/ UPS and one of those cute guys in the brown uniforms will be dropping it on my doorstep!
...so I'll be hitting it hard to lose a few by then. I know I just have to be careful not to over-do it the first few days
to St. Augustine on Thursday. Should be the perfect day...sunny and 82.

Why oh why did my family have to settle for KANSAS?!?!

. Who well it is still winter.

, reading the websites you suggested and have written down many of the basics I need to do to get started. I ordered Shaping Up with Weights for Dummies...a DVD with the most basic stuff on it. I know I will outgrow it quickly, but just need the basic guidance to make sure I'm doing the forms correctly. Gotta get ready for that Cayman trip!!!
? Sounds like it's working perfectly.
I'd take it back, I hate to buy stuff that doesn't work so soon after I get it.
If you want demonstrations of different exercises go here
Sounds like DH needs to learn not to try to stop a chick in nesting mode...
IKEA is a furniture store from Sweden - pretty nice simple stuff and the prices are decent.
Patricia!!!!
Maybe get some new cookbooks? I have a few vegetarian cookbooks - an old favorite is Laurel's Kitchen...she has a kinda hippy attitude...but good healthy eating.
Hi Patricia!
You guys are all such good influences!
I had a slight set-back...and was disappointed when it arrived and the instructional video was a darn VHS tape!!!
Who the heck has VHS player (anymore) in these days of DVD's?! I got online right away and ordered Tony Little's Crosstraining DVD and it's GREAT!!! If any of you have a Gazelle (Reb?!)...and you're bored with it
...you might want to order this DVD to give you new life on it! The time with Tony flies by and he has chosen some good music. I've been getting some really good work-outs on it since the Crosstraining DVD came. YAY!
Now I am waiting for my strength-training for Dummies DVD to get started on that part of my New Me. I have renewed incentive to stick to my eating plan now that I'm in exercise mode.
