  • Need advice on EAS Advantage Carb control shakes, I read that these are good alternatives. How about the EAS 100% Whey Protein?
Are the powder mixtures of either qualifying IP alternatives?

The EAS Carb AdvantEdge products most closely resemble the IP shakes (unrestricted) in calorie content and carb content - I don't think that one comes in a powder, but I've seen the RTD's as low as $1.25 per bottle. They're also VERY easy to purchase as Wal Mart, BJ's wholesale, and many supermarkets/drugstores carry them.

The 100% whey is higher in both calories and carbs than the Carb AdvantEDGE (150 calories and 7g carbs per serving) - due to the higher calorie count it would be more closely in line with a restricted packet instead of an unrestricted. If that's what you have available to you and don't mind spending your daily restricted product on a shake, then it's workable with IP. That one IS available in a powder.
  • I got the Proti diet Vanilla Wafers and it almost seems that these are the same product as IP??? They look just like IP wafers and they were very good.

There are a few IP products that are private-labeled for other companies. The Proti Diet white cheddar crisps are the same as the IP ones, but a slightly smaller portion. Same with the Proti Thin chocolate snacks! They both even come in the same silver space packaging
  • Quest came out with two new flavors of chips!!! Sour Cream and Onion and Salt and Vinegar!!! I just ordered a box of each and the Cheddar Sour Cream (since I know those are my favorite so far).

If you go to the subscriptions and setup auto delivery you get 10% off of the order. I did that and setup the auto-delivery for every 8 weeks and if I'm not ready for more chips in 8 weeks I will cancel the subscription. Just a way to save a few bucks from Quest.
  • I wasn't really in love with the quest chips to be quite honest. If I had to trade them for the white cheddar crisps or zippers, definitely not. It was nice to try something a little different, just not worth trading for something I currently enjoy.
  • All Proti-Thin products on sale for 10% off this week at Nashua. Use code PT10 (case sensitive).

The macros in them made me love them. Them being unrestricted was the biggest woo hoo for me.

I liked making dips for them too to give them a little something extra.
  • OMG I looooooove the Quest chips! I'm so excited for new flavors! Does anyone know if the stores will carry them? Every time I go into my local store they tell me they don't know.

GNC now has them online (not yet in stores)
I'd prefer to not have to buy a whole box.
I have eating behaviors I need to carefully monitor & some things I just need to be able buy as single servings.
  • Supposedly Vitamin Shoppe is supposed to be getting them in a couple weeks. I follow Quest Nutrition on FaceBook and have been watching there page for this. I went ahead and ordered some online and will eat them as my afternoon snack in P2 if I have some left over.
  • Are there any Quest bars that are not on program? I wanted to try the variety pack but not if Ill be getting some I can't use.

Off the top of my head there are only a few Unrestricted: Apple Pie, Chocolate Brownie, Cinnamon roll (this one has Stevia), and Chocolate Peanut Butter (this one has stevia also). I BELIEVE that's correct. The rest are either too high in % of fat, or may be high in carbs and might qualify as Restricted.

You might want to just check the Nutri Info online for ones that appeal to you before you buy....just to be sure.
  • Ugh! So frustrated....Pure Protein vanilla RTD shakes used to be my go-to as a replacement coffee creamer and milk in my Proti Diet cheerios. The 12 ounce bottles were a little more expensive than EAS but the flavor was great and not too thin in my coffee.

I went to pick up another 4 pack today, and they TOTALLY changed the product. Now they're only 11 oz bottles (at the same price, of course), and seem to be higher in sugar. Still unrestricted, but not as much value as the old packaging.

I guess I'll be using the EAS Carb AdvantEdge from now on...*sigh*
