  • Sounds like all good ideas, JG. Keep the faith!
  • Hey everyone I thought I would pop in on your thread. I just finished my 9th week in my second bfl challenge. 3 Weeks to go so I really have to focus and kick butt. Well, I just wanted to cheer everyone on and say keep up the good work.
  • Hey Buff, thanks for popping in. Are you doing anything in this challenge that's new, because, if that's you in the avatar, you don't look like you need any challenges - you could be a group leader - lol !! What results have you seen this time from start to week 9?
  • Buff ... Are you getting good results this time around again? I find you look great in your avatar... It would be cool to see some before (your avatar) and after pics...
  • Hi Hrbabe well this time around, I was able to build up the calves, pump up the butt ( it was sort of flat and saggy...yea I know that is too much information. My waist size has decreased a little, my back is broader, my ab muscles are more visible and I'm a fairly hardbody. that avatar was from my first challenge I have dwindled since then lol. updated pics are in the gallery.

Hey Ilene well I am stronger but not strong enough...growing muscle is harder than I thought It would be

stay focused everyone make those dreams a reality...because you can !
  • Buff -- That's awesome results! Where's the galery that you mention where the pics are?
  • In the members gallery here...I think I joined here when I weighed around 134 or so..so I don't think I have any thunder thigh pics on here lol
  • HAPPY LAST DAY OF JANUARY EVERYONE!!

What are your workout plans today?

For me, it's just a cardio day. I did lbwo yesterday, and this week marks my first week of a completely new weights workout. I've been doing the plan now for close to 5 months and have lost 30 pounds and many inches and a couple of sizes, so I felt it was time to freshen things up a bit. It feels good and bad at the same time: good to pick out exciting new exercises, but bad to leave the familiarity of my first real free-weights lifting routine. But it's all good & I'm so glad to be to this point!!

How are you all doing at the end of the first month of the new year?
  • Got my VersaBells (glowing report! Easy to adjust and switch from real weight to real weight; keeps # of weights organized; great quality and feel; worth the price $135 for pair of 5-25 bells, plus online got free shipping). I will say that on my first strength day (I'm now switching to alternating cardio and weight days), I am astonished and the different feel of free weights to others (weight machines and resistance machines). Nothing compares to it and it is loads (pun intended) harder.

Going to take before and hopeful afters as I settle into my routine.

  • Couldn't agree more JGirl -- about the unbelievable difference from machines to frees. Even now in my new routine I just started, I use a machine for 2 things and while I can make it heavy, it just doesn't feel as good as doing it all myself, with my own body, does with free's.

You got a sweet deal on those versabelles with that free shipping! I was just recommending them (but couldn't remember the name) to the person who posted about starting a home gym.
  • I'll tell ya, Babe, I've always thought of myself as one strong-a--ed chick and the free weights made me feel like I didn't know squat about strength. I feel, honestly?, like I'm starting over! : ( but that can be a good thing.

Anyone in the market for versabells, I'll send you to the site I went to if asked.

Still have to get new bench, but am temporarily using my Bowflex (which will end up being sold at a garage sale or on ebay).
