  • Amyjo - I feel for your problems. Been there before. Just do a lot of planning and careful shopping. The Atkins can be used for everyone in the family, sometimes you just have to add a can of this or that to make someone else feel happy. ie: corn, peas, etc. You can do it. Tuna has been on sale around here and that's always a good cheap meal, and with summer veggies, there's lot of salad stuff and green veggies to cook, plus the squash and others. You can make it. We'll all pull for you.
  • Started Induction 7/8
  • Way to go Leenie!!!

The lady that cleans the wicked witches house asked me for advice on how to do Atkins. She said she needed to do SOMETHING to lose weight. Told her to realise that if she DOES go on Atkins she'll need to do it for life. That losing weight then going back to high/bad carbs would just defeat everything she'd done. So she was going to start this weekend....but her and her DH are going on vacation and told her that wasn't probably the best time to try and start this Told her to have one more weekend of carb infestation and then start fresh on Monday. Gave her my home email addy and phone number to call if she had questions. If she has some I can't answer I'll let her know to come here
  • I am just stressed because how expensive meat and fresh veggies have gotten. I do have to buy a little different since I am the only one in the house that is eating or actually need to eat low carb. DH gains weight on low carb and my DD and DS are not being forced to eat low carb. I have been good this week for the most part, I ate berries yesterday which is not on Induction but I am still am doing all right. I am not going to weigh until 2 weeks out. Hope everyone else is doing well.

  • July 26, 04- Ummmm starting over again.....
  • Amy your not alone, I started AGAIN last week. Gotta weigh myself tomorrow, for some reason I don't think the scale moved AND I have not cheated... will see.

You know what I do is, to keep the $$$ reasonable, I eat what ever is on sale that week, if ckn is on sale stock up. Tuna is excellent to eat and cheap. Add some mayo, celery & onion on some pork rinds is wonderful !!! Plus its full of good oils that your body needs. Fish is cheap this time of year, what ever you can get freeze. I always look at the flyers on saturday night for the Sunday sales. That goes for veggies too, if cans are cheaper then thats what I eat.

Good luck Amy, I'm rootin for you !!!
