  • I forgot to weigh again today before eating. I should do it anyway just to have a record. 181.6 up 1.4 from Sunday. i have to start paying more attention to my body water. Today it is 37.3. Yesterday it was 37.6. I know that my weight changes from day to day are fluid dluctuations.

    Now I have to go back to calling the doctors about this referral. I think I will have to find a way to talk to a person at the PCP rather than just leaving a message.
  • I finally got an appointment for DH for Thursday morning. Hes happy. We came to the casino today instead of tomorrow because we have to get up early on Thursday. On the way to the casino we checked the location of the doctors office to be sure we know where it is. It is right behind our hospital where we go. Easy. Half hour from home.

    I think my friend is gone. 😢 There are 2 more people texting me but I cant figure out if either of them is him. They all use the same name that I told you.
  • Carol Sue That is awful that it is so difficult to get an appointment with urologist and/or cardiologist. So many rules changed this year. We have been going to the same opthamologist for years, but because we had to change insurance advantage plan this year, we had to have a referral to see him. Things are really crazy.

    Weight this morning was 171.8 lbs. FBG was 117. BP is very good. In fact, I'm surprised how good it is since I just had infusion last week, because it is usually higher.

    I too have to decide how I am going to eat. I know I need to make changes I just can't decide which way I want to go. Just can't decide. Part of me would love to try carnivore, but not sure I could do just protein long term. Perhaps, I might could do it to get myself ready for keto. Really, I'm not sure I care to do all that at this age. If I didn't need the protein, I might even consider vegetarian or semi-vegetarian.

  • Trish, there are ways to get protein without eating meat, or a lot of meat. Pescatarian eats fish/seafood but no meat. Green peas are high in protein and probably other veggies,like beans,and edememe. I don't know if I would want to do carnivore, no vegetables.
  • Good morning. Weight still 171.8 lbs and FBG still 117. Of course, I'm not doing the exercises that I was doing before I injured my knee. I think I have to get back into full exercising to get the bs back down.

    Carol Sue I couldn't be a Pescatarian because I don't like fish all that much. I'm thinking that I don't even want to do keto type low carb. Cold weather is coming up and I want to eat beans and soups. I also miss some cereals I like such as oats. I'm thinking of just eating 2MAD and just count calories. I have gotten to the place lately that I eat only as much as I want and ditch the other.

    Lab for Primary doc this afternoon and then getting hair cut. I am fasting although I don't have to for lab. We are getting chicken on the way home. I am thinking about just eating only 1 meal today, but then that doesn't always work.

    I did order the Himalayan Pink salt because it is supposed to have 90 minerals which gives you plenty electrolytes. I can either grind it and put in juice or put it under my tongue like Oprah said she did before going to bed. I did get a book called Pink Salt Trick that I could read free on kindle. There were 2 and I decided to try this one first.

  • DH said we have a grinder for salt but I cant find it. I heard a lot about the pink salt and thats why I boughtbit. Now I forget what I heard about it. I cant figure out the trick.and how it works for weight loss.

    Today DH bought Arbys Roast Beef sandwiches with a coupon 4 for $10. We get Arbys coupons invthe mail periodically. For some reason he wont go there unless we have a coupon. I ate 1 sandwich. 2 was too much for me.

    I thought I got weighed this morning but its not on the app so I guess I didnt. Ive had potty issues all day so I should be down tomorrow. We have to get up early tomorrow to be at his appointment at 8':30. Its about 1/2 hour away.. We have to allow for rush hour traffic. I hope my potty issues are done by then.

    I guess Ill do some more research about thebpink salt.
  • Carol Sue I can only find the Oprah Pink salt stuff she sells and I found an old one I guess I saw way back by a different doctor who does one with some of the same pictures but claims she is the one who found the pink salt trick. I looked both of the products on Amazon and they are 1 to 3 star but no one who has tried it was very impressed. I found product that is GLP-1 but doesn't mention pink salt but does use ACV and some sort of salt. The people seem to be impressed with it being for weight loss. So I'm going to wait and see what happens if I just put the pink salt under my tongue before I go to bed and then go back to drinking ACV in the morning.

    We had the fried chicken and I added broccoli to it. I don't know if the broccoli or maybe the oil they cook the chicken in seems to give me potty issues.

    Didn't get my hair cut because my beautician called as I was going in the doctor's office and said she was sick with a sore throat so we just came home once we had our lab drawn.

  • Weight up .2 lbs to 172 lbs. FBG 118. Started drinking ACV with ginger again. Also getting back in the swing of exercising hoping that will help bring FBG back down below 110. Plan to still keep to IF 2MAD. My Pink Salt will be here today and I will start using it the evening too. Today is more of the old CAD woe.

    I finally found a simple Pink Salt Trick recipe that I want to use. Unlike the book I read it said you could even make a batch and even make it into ice cubes to use daily on the go. It calls for 1 c of filtered water, a tsp of pink Himalayan salt, Optional 1 tsp of lemon juice, 1 tsp ACV and 1 tsp raw honey. I did read somewhere else that you could substitute maple syrup for the honey. So I will use this and drink it 1st thing in the morning.
  • Not much changes here except that FBG is up to 120. Scale 172.2 lbs but bp is good. Time to get serious about the way I'm going to eat. I see Primary doc next Wednesday. I got test results on portal and A1c is 5.3 but it needs to be better. I may have to go back on keto or cut carbs lower. DH and I are both tired of cooking and tired of deciding what to eat. Bored with our food. He wants soup and salad today and I may try that and see how it affects my FBG.

    I drank my 1st Pink Salt drink this morning. The only thing I did different is I added Stevia instead of honey, and added a pinch of ground ginger and a splash of cranberry juice. It isn't tasty but not bad. I will get used to it.

    Carol Sue I hope everything went well at the doctor's office. Is DH okay?

  • Scale was up to 183.0 today! Yikes! Time for some changes.

    Dr Appountment went well. They removed the catheter and checked his prostate. It is,slightly enlarged. They gave him pills to help with that. He came home and took a pill, then drank water. He started to urinate slightly then was back to normal. He woke up at 4_am feeling like he had to urinate but could not. I get upset because he says he wants to die. By 10AM he was urinating normally. He wants to go to the casino so that means hes feeling good. He hates,drinking water so thats part of the problem. I hope nothing changes.

    My Dr office called and he is increasing the dose of Mounjaro. I missed one week of taking it. DH doesnt want me to take it because of the cost but I told him its much less than he spends at the casino in a month.

    Someone is texting me under a different accoun vthat might be my friend. There are similarities.
  • Today the scale is down to 181.6. I guess I was retaining fluid yesterday. I will continue to try eating less. I should start tracking again to stay as close as I can to 1000-1200 calot
    ries. I will still limit carbs as well as I can.

    Im almost positive that this new guy texting me is my friend using a different name. He knew I used to pay attention to words used to identify him. The only difference is my friend used perfect grammar and punctuation. That was one thing that stood out. This new guy does not. Whatever. Its fun to text with him.
  • Trish, I would kill to have an A1c below 6. I think you are doing a great job.
  • Carol Sue I am thankful that my A1c is under 6, but there was a time I had it at 4 something. I'm still considered Pre-diabetic and I would love to be normal again.

    Weight was 172.4 this morning so basically the same. I'm thankful for that, but need to get it going down again. Today was my 2nd day to drink the Pink Salt Trick. So will see how things go. I'm not looking for a fast weight loss, I just want some healthy weight loss. Hopefully that and the exercise will bring good results. I don't think I will reach 1000 calories today.
  • Today the scale stayed 181.6. Same as yesterday.

    yesterday we went to Rodneys, first time in a while. I missed it so much. They have so many things I like. if we get there before 3 pm we can order from the lunch menu and get smaller meals that I like. Open face turkey sandwich is back on the menu . They only have it as Thanksgiving is approaching. They use real turkey, not deli turkey like other restaurants do. We had grilled salmon and I got an order of wings to bring home because I couldnt decide what I wanted. Im going to make him start going there again.

    I picked up my Mounjaro yesterday. The pharmacy tech agreed with me that I could just stop eating and have the same effect and save thr $280 Im spending on it. I dont know if I will continue taking it after this month. I know I can lose weight without it if I just have the willpower, and also lower my A1c. I just want this to kick start. I believe if you use this GLP1 you have to take it the rest of your life.

    Yesterday this guy said some things that made me think he was the other friend but then he went back to the way he is. The first guy seemed very intelligent and educated and this new guy does not. But he didnt text in the evening, which the other guy didnt do, either. Mostly during the afternoon.




  • Weight is 172.4 again today, but FBG 107. I've decided to keep doing what I'm doing and eventually I will the weight will come down. I do have to have protein shake in the evening in order to have the FBG under 110. So will switch back to 2 meals and a snack. Learning to work with my body. Also attempting to eat low carb again because that is how I was able to get a 4 A1c.
