  • Quote: I hope she is okay That's extremely stressful, just take it an hour at a time! Keep us updated on her too! I would be devastated if my boy broke his leg. Poor girl, give her a hug for me when you can
While the procedure is expensive, her leg is being repaired with bone plates (metal plates) and those plates will allow her full mobility in her leg. She'll be able to walk and will only be in minimal pain, almost right away after surgery.

In a way it is a blessing in disguise.. if it had been a hairline fracture, she would have been put in a cast and would have had no use of the leg for 6 to 8 weeks and be put on strict bedrest!

She just has to be restricted from running/jumping. So while it is pricey, it is worth it. It was also necessary, her break was a clean straight-through-the-bone break with full dislocation of the bones, it was not a fracture by any means.

Funny thing is.. it happened by her jumping off a chair. That's all it took. She landed on a hard object when she hit the ground and rolled her leg hard.. bam. Broken.

    Scary..

  • My week one checkin...

I'm a little irritated now with my progress - it's been 10 days of nothing. Is it possible to hit my first plateau only 15 pounds into my journey??

    I just don't get it...
  • One week update:

    SW: 172.4
    CW: 172.2
    GW: 162.4

I had a RIDICULOUSLY salty weekend, and was actually down a couple of pounds before the weekend, so I'm expecting to hopefully see some movement in the next couple of days as the water retention goes away.

Yes! When I first started I lost 8lb the first 4 weeks...then the next 3 weeks nothing...nada, zero, zip, zilch! But, despite my frustration I stuck with it. Then on the 8th week I lost 4 more.

Just keep doing what you're doing...it'll happen!
  • Hi everyone
Hi I'm so happy I found this forum I'm new here and well ready to make changes and take the challenge to lose weight.. By Dicember I want to be 10 pounds less ... By the way yesterday I ordered African mango, has anyone tried it before??? I really need something to curve my hunger , wish everyone good luck and we can do it!!!!! Lots love Cheers!!!

    CW : 160 lb
    Goal: 117 lb
    43 lb to go
  • So far doing pretty good, though a lot of the loss was water weight from bad Halloween eating I had to lose a second time. Feeling good though and every once in a while I catch a look of myself in a mirror and do a double take- I think its still subtle changes but I'm starting to be able to tell!

  • Bahaha!!
1 week into challenge weigh in was this morning.

    Take THAT, you stupid plateau!
So maybe a 1.5 lb loss in a week isn't all that great for trying to lose 10lbs in a month, but its darn good for me! Esp as of late.
8.5lb to go for this month and 15.5 for my mini goal by new years. I can do this!!
  • Btw, does any one know how you get the little icon of the chick for a certain loss amount (like 40 for example)?
  • I'm down 2, from 182 to 180, but I feel like I'm hitting my first plateau so I doubt I'll lose 10 this month. I'm impatient to hit 175, which would be 50 total and would get me out of the "overweight" BMI. I keep telling myself it will happen if I just stick with the plan.
  • I think I'm going to stay in the 150s for months unless I start to exercise. -_- being goal-oriented is helpful but man... I feel so inefficient
  • Hi all! Looks like everyone is edging down! Wooo!

I have been stuck at 251 for days and days.....since I have been really good with my eating and rocking the gym (weights and 30 mins a day on the elliptical) I was starting to get frustrated. I weighed in at 250 even this morning though so I was glad to finally see scale movement. I also sort of laughed, because it was 250.0 and I soooooo want to see the 240's. I mean I am ONE stinkin' OUNCE from the 240's!! Ha! So, we shall see what the next few days bring!!! Happy weighins to all!
