  • My stats:

    Age: 42
    Weight: 142
    Height: 5'4.5"
    Exercise: 5 times/week (usually)
    now out with injury
Calories: 1200-1500ish (only seem to lose when at about 1350)
Metabolism Needs: I sleep 8 hours, eat every four hours, and balance food groups

Special note: I recommend for anyone stalled to consider if you get enough rest, eat frequently enough, and gently work to lower stress throughout the day and week.
  • Quote: That is an awesome weight loss. Just be sure to eat the most nutritious foods possible. You are still growing and your body needs all the nutrition it can get.
Thanks! And yeah, I feel so much better now that I'm eating healthier. I could probably eat more fruits and veggies but one step at a time right?! haha
  • I am about 5'8- 5'9 and i eat anywhere from 1300 to 1600 a day, sometimes I go higher but I guess thats why I am losing so slowly haha.

These are absolutely PARAMOUNT for me.

    Age: 30
    Height: 5'2"
    Weight: 190 12/15/2009
Calories, daily: 1550-1650, with one to two days weekly at 1850-2000. I aim to NEVER exceed 2000, and I am hoping that the 1850-2000 range will be my maintenance amount.
Exercise: Yoga, 6 days weekly for a minimum of 30 minutes. Weights or Pilates 2-3 times weekly. Hubs and I were doing a walk-run program 3 days a week for about 25-35 minutes, but that has lapsed as we moved across the darn country. We also do an hour+ "pleasure walk" at minimum once a week. The only thing that dropped in the move was the walk/run, and I am hoping to pick that up again ASAP.
Average Weight Loss: between 1-2 pounds a week. Most weeks, 1-1.5, some weeks none, others just over 2 pounds. I refuse, refuse, refuse to cut back too far in order to maintain, so slower is fine with me. Eventually I am sure I will have to cut back to around 1350-1450, but darnit, I am too big a fan of food and drrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiinking to go lower than that.

    Exercise: 5 times/week (walking mostly)
    Calories: 2000 + a little cheating
Weight loss (first 3 months = 17 pounds)

Since September I have concentrated on 2000 cals a day. I turn 50 in a week or so, and IMO don't do a lot of exercise - I walk 4 or 5 days a week, 2-1/2 miles a day, and play hockey or run once probably every other week. When I was a lot younger I ran 30 to 70 miles a week so walking is pretty easy to do in comparison.

I lose about 1-1/3 pounds a week average for the last 13 weeks. To be honest, I probably cheat a bit on the cals - but I cheat consistently For example, if I eat a salad with dressing I dont count it. Heresy I know, but it works for me. If it's bad for me I count it, if it's really good for me sometimes I cut myself some slack. I figure my calories deficit is about 650 a day.

The best thing about calorie counting to me is that NRG in - NRG out can't be cheated on in the long run. It's taken me a couple of years of trial and error to get to this point and I am now 1/2 way to my ultimate goal. I don't care if it takes me a few MORE years as long as I eventually get there AND that I get there in a way that is consistent and allows me to slip right into maintenance with little problems.

Edit : Ha I lost 9 pounds since the last time I was here ! Yahoo ! - funny thing tho, I remember being pissed at how long it was taking to get under 210, now I am pissed at how long it is taking to get under 200 - never changes, no matter how well it is going, I'm impatient for it to go better.
  • I am 289 pounds, 5"9 and 41 years old.

I exercise 5-6 times per week and burn a minimum of 500 calories (average is 700 and not uncommon to go over 1000) On exercise days i eat 1800 and non exercise days 1600. Im relatively new to calories counting having lost my prior weight via weight watchers so for me its still a lil trial and error

  • Age: 20 (Female)
    Weight: 154
    Height: 5'10"
    Exercise: Walking a lot.
Calories: 2000 for the first 5 months. Now I try not to eat OVER 2000 but my ideal amount is 1500. I usually end up at like 1700 though.. sometimes even 2000.
Average Weight loss First 5 months: 2 lbs a week. Now: .5-1 lb a week.

I dunno. 1800 cals is good for me.. I'd rather lose slow than constantly eat 1200 a day, but that's just me.
  • I eat an average of about 1400 per day. I currently weigh 223. I lose on average about 2 lbs per week.
  • 32 year old female here, 5 foot 7, 97kgs. (1 kg lost this week so far!)
My calories are all over the map, sometimes 1100, sometimes over 1800. I try to keep them as close to 1500 as possible, and exercise daily for 1 hour.

    6'5'' tall
    in my 30's
    current weight is 327 pounds
    highest weight was 534 pounds
I am 207 pounds lighter than when I started in 2008

I eat 1700 calories per day unless I lift weights then its bumped to 1940 calories because I add a whey protein shake (110 cals for 8oz 1% milk and 130 cals for 1 scoop whey protein powder) on those days.

I go to the gym 4-6 times per week and do between 40 and 60 mins of cardio per day and lift weights on 3 of those days. On the weight lifting days its 40 minutes cardio generally and non weight lifting days is usually closer to 60 minutes cardio.
