Check out the PDFs on his site for different length fasts, within those PDFs are recipes for soups and salads, I think adding in more veg, less processed foods is a good thing.
We've juiced off and on, sometimes just do a fruit and veggie day. As Maui said consult your dr. as Joe did, unless you have extreme issues like he did you probably don't need to be as extreme as he was.
