Hi Kristi,
Welcome back! As far as doing it on your own .... well, my personal experience has been that it's much slower and more difficult, but I don't have the financial option to rejoin, so I'm plugging away. I also had a hard time getting to the center when they were open -- I had always wished they had early morning hours, but they never opened until 9. I guess I don't really care how long it takes, as long as I keep working at it and don't give up. I still use my old materials, take max HNS (bought online) and get support here.
I do miss the camaraderie of the other women who were going -- I always seemed to run into the same ones -- I had taken all of the classes, so still have all of that material and review it, and do some of the exercises.
The bottom line is my success is up to me -- I'm the one who makes the choices as to what I choose to eat. I know how my body responds (very carb sensitive) and what choices will benefit me -- and it's only me who can make that change.
So good luck! I believe it can be done, it just seems a tad bit harder.
