Whats your one weakness???

  • I'm a chocolate girl. I can walk right on by Macdonalds (in fact the last time I had Macdonalds was April 2005!!!), can forgo pizza (because I have yet to meet an English pizza worth breaking the diet for), and can even shun wine (most of it makes me break out in red blotches - it's the preservatives), but I just can't live without chocolate.

I order three blocks of 70% cocoa once a month, and that's my ration. I have been at home for two weeks with a nasty virus, and the chocolate remains intact, that's how I figured out just how sick I was!!!!
  • Peanut butter.

Peanuts. Peanut butter cookies. Peanut M&Ms. And cheesecake, which (alarmingly) is just about the only thing I can cook/bake with any real skill/success. Oh, and anything that comes in a container labeled "Ben & Jerry's."

Also (weirdly) commericals for pizza on TV. Papa Gino's, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, etc. I usually have to change the channel! And oddly I had a somewhat crazed response to the french fries shown on a McDonald's commerical yesterday. But it IS that-time-of-the-month so I blame the hormones.

Back to the peanut thing: my trainer says it seems peanut butter is the biggest trigger food for A LOT of her clients. She thinks there's something in the pesticides used on peanut fields that has an addictive quality. Interesting thought. And rather scary!
  • I buy natural, organic peanut butter and have the same problem. I doubt it's the pesticides which are my trigger.

Peanut butter...straight up or mixed with anything.

Interesting. It is my personal theory that dieting/exercising women (like your trainer's clients) trigger on peanut butter because it's what a body might crave if it wasn't getting enough healthy fats to really satisfy the body. If it were just pesticides on vegetable fields, a lot more people might trigger on lettuce! I've never heard anyone complain of a romaine binge before.

    Hee, hee....hilarious!
  • A romaine binge!! Boy, did that ever make me laugh.

Licorice is my downfall. I can eat the entire 1-pound package of Twizzlers in one day. My control mechanism is to buy just one of the small individual serving packages of Nibs and then savor every bite.
