Hi! I am new to this forum and am hoping to get to know some of you better!

I'll start with a little intro then post what I think about the 6 Wk Body Makeover.
I am Sarah, 26, weighing in at 218 now. I was 257 after I had my daughter in August 2004 and when I started working out in March 2005 I started shedding some pounds. I am married and have 2 kids. My children have just turned 1 & 2 yrs old. My husband is struggling with weight loss too, so we are going through this together. I am a stay-at-home mom, do my schooling full time from home, and work part time from home. My husband is on disability for his mental health issues, so we both get to deal with that too. Life is hectic and the weight loss isn't easy!
Well, a few weeks ago my husband and I started the 6 Wk Body Makeover. It changed a lot of things for us! We have figured out it isn't the diet for us. There just really aren't many changes and we have been sticking to it pretty well. I see how it could work for some, it just wasn't meant to be for us I guess. I don't see it as a waste of time, I did gain some things from it. For example, the breakfast I eat is better. Before I had a bowl of Cheerios with skim milk and berries, now I have a bowl of oatmeal, a fruit smoothie, and some sort of protein. (we work out right after breakfast)
I couldn't believe how blah foods taste without salt after having been using a ton of it for years. But I could live with that. I have found spices that help. And Splenda is a lifesaver to sweeten things like the oatmeal for breakfast up. The water is pretty easy for me, I was drinking more than 100 oz before starting this.
In about 3 weeks, almost 4, we have only lost about 5 lbs each. I was highly disappointed by this. We both work out 5-6 days a week at the gym and have been doing very well with following the eating plan. And even when there was a cheat, it was still doing way better than the way we were eating before. And before I was losing about 2 lbs a week. It almost feels as if I am not eating enough on this program. Which could have slowed down my metabolism. Plus I have been so tired since using the program too.
Right now I am starting to read a book called "The Abs Diet", this could possibly be my next venture. I hate following these fad type diets, but am looking at this one as I did with the 6 Wk and hoping that it is something that can last long term, not just for the short time that they advertise.
I wish you all luck on the Michael Thurmond diet! I know it should work for some people. There is something out there that will work for all of us! It just takes time finding it.
