  • blondie look at you, so close to onderland!!

kelijpa you are almost at your goal, great job!!

    Lisa WOW, what a week!!

ophelia 3 days off plan is nothing in the big picture. I think its awesome that you realize that you aren't quite ready for certain foods until you feel ready, realizing that is not always easy (at least for me!) A couple days back on plan and that pesky 3 lbs will be gone, along with another of its buddies!! You can do this!!

dee I hope that you can get off of your plateau soon!! I think that its awesome that you have maintained, going through a move is not easy and when I get stressed out I want to eat!! I can not imagine what it must feel like to be in the 130's!!! I can't wait until I am there!!

  • ophelia - Way to go! That's an amazing month!

Kfunk - I am getting there! I've lost some of my focus with all the busyness of life. I am praying I don't fall of the wagon cuz I'm leaning off the side!!
  • Ok, so took a little spill the end of week one, and hurt my ankle. Rested last week, and hopefully will be back on track this week. I'm going to revise my goal to reflect the break. I'd like to lose 12 lbs total this month, which means I have 8 more to go.

  • blondie It is so hard to stay dedicated 100% of the time when this process takes so long, but especially when life is super busy! Have you thought about taking a little maintenance break?

shea OUCH!! Ankle injuries are really painful when the ligaments are involved. I hope that you feel better soon!

I don't understand why I gained again....hopefully it is just a normal fluctuation and will be back down in a couple days.

  • kfunk: That's true! Three days really won't add up to much in the long run, lol. It's definitely sticking to me a bit, but I'm sure it will be gone soon. (I've been having frustrating fluctuations, even being back on plan, too...so, I get how you're feeling today, as well!) I haven't been able to get a walk in in the last couple days, so I'm sure that isn't helping. (That and the water.) Last week, our oldest had the week off of school, so I was able to have someone here with the sleeping toddler...so, I took advantage of it since my body clock still had me waking up at 5-5:30 during the week anyway, haha. She started back this week, so I haven't been able to go in the morning anymore and am now back into struggling to find the time between everyone getting home, making dinner for them, and getting out before it gets dark now with these earlier sundowns again. Going to have to figure out a way to get an accurate reading on my FitBit with a stroller to go during the day, I think. Carrying him on my back hurts my hips after awhile now that he's getting bigger, so it's been a solution for a couple trips, but it's not a long-term one.

gardenerjoy: Thanks! I definitely don't think I'll be making my second goal since I have been struggling since hitting my first one, but I'm still going to try...lol.

shea5: Sorry you got hurt, but I'm glad you were able to rest up last week and will be able to get back to it this week. Take it easy getting started, don't want to rush an ankle injury!

    ----------------------------------------

Weigh-in yesterday was down a little to 239.6, but then right back up to 240.6 today...I was on-plan yesterday, but I didn't do any exercise and I barely drank any water, so I think that might be why. I wasn't able to do the walk today either, but going to see if I can squeeze in a shorter evening walk before it gets too dark. Just in case that doesn't happen, I'm going to focus on drinking more water. On a better note, though, I experimented with some vegetarian fajitas the past two days, and I have found a healthier alternative to my cravings for burrito night! It's just about as delicious - and I scratch the same itch for Mexican food - but it is so much lower in calories that I can even indulge in seconds without breaking the calorie bank....lol. So, win-win!

(Update: I ended up getting in a walk this evening afterall...it was shorter, but it was still 3 miles, and it at least made me surpass my 10k minimum goal for the day, so yay!)

  • ophelia Good job getting your walk in last night!! Could you figure out the 5 mile mark and then just take him in the stroller and turn around when you have hit the half way point? I know you wont have an accurate step count that way, but figure it should be close to what it normally is... I did not work out again last night. I have been feeling overwhelmed lately. There is not enough time on the weeknights to get everything done. Our house is a disaster and needs organization badly. Tonight I will make it a priority for sure. I find that it is hard to get enough water in most days, I had been doing really well and then fell out of the habit and its hard to get back into the swing of things!! That is awesome that you were able to find a healthier version of the burritos and even better that they are delicious!!

I know I have only been on low carb for 1.5 weeks, but I am very discouraged and thinking that it is not working well for my body. I will still finish out the month, but probably whine throughout the rest of it lol. I lost 2 lbs. at the end of the first week and promptly gained it back early on the second week. At this point I will be lucky to break even, but forget about a loss for the week.

  • kfunk: That's a good idea! I will have to try that if I know I won't have any time the following evening. I know I shouldn't be such a stickler about the step tracking, because it is the actual exercise itself that counts, not the number on a FitBit...just hoping to find a reliable way to have both, lol. I feel like it is a residual desire to get that "gold star" that we were trained to strive for as children. And, I am having the same issue with the water! I have made that my main goal for the day today, so I'm hoping we both get back on track with it soon. Also hoping that you catch a break with your low carb soon -- you deserve it! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it is a longer-term kind of success and that it will all come together for you by the end of the month.

    kelijpa: Nice loss!

gardenerjoy: Salty dinners always stall things up for me the next day too, lol.

    ----------------------------------------

Weigh-in was 238.2 both yesterday and today. I was hoping to see a bit of a drop, because I was super on-plan with my food yesterday, but I was - yet again - low on water, so I really need to focus on that today and see if I get some movement. Did another evening walk last night and managed to get in a happy medium of 4 miles. Also almost stepped on a snake while out on a back road! (Thankfully, it was not a rattlesnake...I think it was a gopher snake. Still gave me a good jump before I realized, though. Haha.) I need to make sure I pay attention now that I am walking at dusk in Arizona...it's a lot different than when we were in Georgia, lol.

  • Ophelia I can relate to wanting both the step count and the distance to be accurate! How much water are you going to be shooting for today? I am on my TOM for some stupid reason (I had it at the beginning of the month) and that and the antibiotics I am on might be accounting this weeks poor numbers. I am staying on plan, but still think that I must be doing this wrong. Part of me doesn't even want to finish out the month because I am worried about wasting 2 weeks, assuming the scale doesn't budge. I also know my body and know its very likely that I will still get a good drop because there are usually 2 weeks where I lose nothing. I feel like I am losing the mental game lol.

If I saw a snake there is NO way I would EVER take a walk again, and I wouldn't differentiate between poisonous or non... I shudder at the thought, I am terrified of them!!!
