hey gang

how is everybody doing? just thought I would pop in before it got too wild at work. I've been busy but that seems to be the norm for me.

I did walk the past 2 afternoons after work so I'm glad about that. I'm desperately trying to get back into my walking routine before I bust a seam on my jeans! yikes!

I've got errands to run during lunch and youth services at church tonight so there won't be any grass growing under my feet today

Hi everybody,

Didn't do much today but mow the yard. It is supposed to rain off and on through Sunday. Saturday is my fiance's b-day, but I think he is going to be working, so I can't make any plans for him. He is still working till almost 10pm every night. Makes for a lonely evening.

Buddly: Been thinking about you. How are you doing? Feeling any better? I hope so.

I'm okay, but have had a nagging headache for a few days... I think my sinuses are trying to fight with hay fever and the pressure changes in the weather. It makes me tired and sluggish, so my focus this week is on what I eat rather than how much I move.

I have to take my car in this afternoon to have the windshield resealed. When it was replaced on Tuesday, they must have left a gap somewhere b/c I can hear air coming in. Sounds like an exciting day, huh? Not doing much else unfortunately. Still not dieting either. Help me!!

I'm feeling a little better, at least the totally encompassing fear is lifting a bit and I feel like I can breath a little, always a good start .
A and I stopped in at my mother's place on Tuesday and she gave me a box with some of my grandmother's costume jewlery that she would wear when she went to her dances. (in 1979 when she was 64 she would go to five dances a week) I remember loving the jewlery so much when I was little that I would dress up in one of her long dresses, put on one of her wigs and all the jewlery. Anyway, its nice to have some of the pieces.

Sassy, can I ask what medication do you use for your PCOS? My 19 yr old has that and is on Diane-35. It helps regulate her cycles and it has helped a little with the hirsutism. Anyway we got a little shock when we went to get her prescription filled and for a three month supply they went from $71 up to $96! So I'm just wondering what else is out there that might be a little more affordable. Especially when she goes off our extended health.

Sorry I haven't been around, between work and the tornado that hit our street the other day, things have been crazy... everyone is safe and no damage to our house...finally got power back yesterday.

I walked after work yesterday but won't have time after work today. I'm just doing what I can when I can.

This weekend is another busy one. We are honoring the 12th graders that are graduating so have lots going on. I have to be down at the church early in the morning so I doubt I'll get in a walk first.

Tonight I'm supposed to go to an Elliott Yamin concert here in town. He was the third person left on American Idol last year and performed this past Wednesday on Idol as a guest. He is from here originally and I used to work with him briefly. I'm trying to support him as our hometown guy. It has been raining off and on today and the concert is unfortunately outside. Not too excited about that with the cold I have coming on.

I am on Fortamet, 500 MG Twice a Day. It is a form of Metformin, which is the Generic of Glucaphage, which is very popular and I beleive Metformin is affordable, if I remember. I just couldn't take it. The side affects of Glucaphage/Metformin are not fun, just let me tell you that upfront. But I have no problems on Fortamet at all. It varies from person to person though. I'd ask your dr what they recommend.

P.S. -- Also you can ask your dr for samples, saves you money and they get them free from the drug co.'s. So ask!

Cathy- The concert was great. His voice is incredible (who knew from our old days of working in a restaurant!). He sounds just like his CD and better yet, he is just a nice, grateful, and humble guy. I'm just so happy for him. It goes to show that you just don't know what life has in store for any of us.

Cathy Love, its sooooooooooooooo good to see your back. KUDO's on the exercise. I'm having a rough time too. Gained 5 lbs back but sasssafrasssss I'm determined to get it off. Thats my winter gain if you will. I never ever ever lose weight in the winter but now that summer is here, I'm in a much better frame of mind to start losing again.

Sassy, your doctors visit is Monday right? let us know what he/she says darling.... and if he's not nice, let me know, I'll send my joisey bruther vinnie to pop his tires jk jk lolol Feel better sweetie.

Buddly, I really do understand that dark place your in. I get that way too and kick myself in the arse b/c I don't understand why I'm there. Usually w/in a week or so it subsides and I feel better. How are you today? Aww your G'ma sounded like fun. I have some costume jewl from my DH's G'ma, and its so pretty I can't part w/it.... you really can't wear it but its to pretty to toss, so I'll give it to my DD to wear.

Heather, working on one thing at a time is great, when I try to do to much I always blow it b/c its just to much for my peabrain. So if I can do good with dieting and I'm doing good for a while, then I'll "TRY" and I use that term loosly "TRY" to exercise. One step at a time... we can do it !! How did you make out this week?

Hope glad you enjoyed the concert. I never watch that show so I don't know who he is. Actually I don't watch much TV unless its a kiddy show LOL. But its neet that some one from your home town is a star.

Its going to rain here this weekend so I'll be doing a lot of cleaning. I need to clean the house b/c in 2 weeks we're gonna head on off to Hershey Park for a few days and my friend is staying at the house....don't want her seeing what a slob I really am LOLOL So I'll start cleaning today (since the weekend is all the time I have to clean oy).

The tornado did damage to the neighborhood but missed my house THANK YOU LORD !!!! Sitting here looking out my front window, all I see is a massive tree busted in half laying in the road. It took down my neighbors chimney, rooted up trees, wires were on fire in the streets...look like a war zone that day coming home and the storm was a quick 1/2 hr long MAYBE. I think the rest of the folks in town have power now.

Anyway...thats about it.

TY Leenie. Yes my appt is Monday and my dr is always nice, it was the stupid ultrasound tech who was not nice to me! Got our blood drawn today, he's checking my AC1 (blood sugar), cholesterol, etc and checking DH's cholesterol. So I will let ya all know what he says. I'm kinda nervous because I feel like I am going to the principals office! lol. I know it won't be good, but oh well, my dr is a very nice and um hmmmmm very patient man to put up with the likes of me! lol.

Anywho. I am getting tired gurlssss. Beddy bye time for me.......
