lunas and prias are nutritional bar ussualy in the health food section of the store. Lunas have about the same nutrional values as lites.

Remember that the caloric value is added into the plan that you are on. If you choose not to use the bars go to the plan above the one you are using and follow it using the extra amount of food. For example, I was on gold and when I chose not to eat the bars I moved up to the green and ate the extra foods as a replacement. The danger of not replacing the calories is that you set yourself up for deprivation. It also messes with your metabolism. Thats why so many of us can say we actually don't eat that much yet we gain weight when we eat just a little extra.
On the other hand, the danger of eating the bars is that you really do get used to that chocolate fix. I've been on maintainence over a year and I still feel like I need it.

Hey there. I'm new here, and very new to LAWL. I was told that the "soy in the bars helps keep your skin more elastic during weight loss". Is this true or just another sales pitch?

I find the $1,400 they want for my entire program a bit much. If there's a cheaper way to go I'm going to take it.

Stargazer, I've talked to many co-workers (I work in a clinic) and no amount of soy will help your skins elasticity. It all depends on genetics, your age, and how much weight you have gained and will lose. I think it is just a pitch for them to get us to buy the lites!

Thanks for the answers. I figured as much. I'm going to talk to them on Monday and tell them that I just can't afford to use the bars. Plus they give me a crampy sensation in my stomach. Sooo... I think no more bars for me. On a good note. According to my scales I've lost 3.5 pounds!!!!! I checked my scale against theirs and its pretty accurate.

I'm new to LAWL and this board, and I do hate to beat a dead horse, but I have to say, I went to my center last night for my Lites sales pitch, and felt like I was at a car dealership. It was hysterical. Each time I said, "no,thanks," to a package, they had a new angle. We even got down to, "let me go and talk to my manager and see if we can cut you some slack." I told my counselor not to waste her time; that after the amount of money I had given them just four evenings earlier to join, no way was I shelling out $1400. Come to think of it, the last time I bought a car I don't think I was pressured that much. I didn't know they had LAWL credit, either, so that I could pay off the $1400 interest-free within 3 months. They've got it all covered. My little girl was with me, and when we left, she said, "Umm...I think that lady really wanted you to buy more of those candy bars than you bought." I just laughed, and said, "oh, you think? what gave it away?" I bought a box of the chocolate caramel bars, and I will admit that they actually tasted great, but they were so much smaller than the other bars I've tried this week, that I can't believe I was sitting there eating a $2.14 "candy bar" that was gone in three bites. On the upside, at least I was down 5.5 lbs!

Well, I've had my "Sales Pitch" meeting, told them I couldn't do it both financially and because the darn things gave me AWFUL cramps. So, the put me up on the red plan and voided my guarantee. BUT I don't have to do the bars.

Stargazer, crazy question, but I was wondering just exactly what your stomach cramps were like with the bars? I have been using them for just over a week, and I am having the worst pains in my lower abdomen that come and go like bad abdominal or menstrual cramps. I've been chalking it up to constipation, which I've suddenly developed for the first time in my life since starting LAWL, but today was actually thinking it might be the bars. The counselors are a little annoying, because each of them give different advice, which all seems to be a lot of crap if you ask me ("oh, it's because you aren't getting your fat serving in everyday" or "try buying our essential fatty acid supplements" or "you may need to take our tea everyday." I'm not sure how a teaspoon of olive oil or a teaspoon of margarine is going to change my stomach or bowels!!!)

magnes~ the EFA's do help me...I get them from Vitamin world though for much less. flax oil seed and fiber supplements can help too. the bars are soy based and you are having little to no fat in your diet so that is why you aren't having as frequent bowle movements. With the EFA's I have more regular than without them, but I also use smooth move tea occasionally is I notice i haven't had one in 2 days.
If you are missing your fats, I would definitely say to get them in and try something that olive oil for your fat and you might see a difference for a few days.

That could be it. Pretty similar to the feelings I was having, but remember, each person is different. I talked to my Doctor before I was sure that's what it was.
