Good morning!
I'm dragging with a 2nd day of a sinus headache. I did get out yesterday for a walk & we went to a ball game last night. I almost cried when I had to dispose of 2 water bottles going in (I get weepy when I don't feel good. Then got mad paying ball park $ for water! It was tempting to chug a beer or 2 instead, but I did not.
Again, I'm reminded how something's different this time for me. Before SB, I would have grazed on comfort food all day with a sinus flare up, not so anymore, but more emotional for sure.
Since I'm whining, the scale hasn't moved since last week either. 😭 Maybe I should just go back to bed...jk
Your updates are inspiring to stay on track every day. Thank you.

Good morning, chicks.

Cenari, sorry to hear about the sinus problem. I'm glad you are feeling the support of checking in here; that's why the old timers still do! Hope you feel better soon.

The scale and I are in our normal love-hate relationship. Monday I was down, then 2 days up, now back down a bit. I will stay stay the course knowing it will move eventually.

I spent time processing the harvest yesterday. I picked a lot of tomatoes; Some of them I will puree and freeze for winter soups and stews. (I'm too lazy to deal with canning them ) Last night I also roasted a batch of tomatoes, onions and peppers to puree into soup. I have a great tomato soup recipe. I also shredded a bunch of zucchini; some went into the freezer but I also made a chocolate cake; it's a recipe from my Mom that I have tried to beachify. I will wrap and freeze it in individual pieces for an occasional splurge or when the boys come home for a visit.

Debbie, I didn't realize you put rum in your smoothie. lol Have a good day!

Rose, hope DD's first few days of school went well and work is calm

Have a good day, chicks.

Good afternoon,

Truckng through work waiting to see if on Tuesday they will release new org chart, our VP is moving under another one and we are moving with him. At least the good news is I still have a job lol. It's been pretty quiet this week. Tonight DD2 has band practice, her first couple of days of school have gone well, she is getting back into the swing of things and likes her schedule.

Beth sounds like you are being very productive with all of your produce. I am having same scale issues, up and down.

Debbie busy is sometimes good makes the day go by quicker but glad you had a plan

Cenari sorry you are having a sinus headache, I have been having a lot of allergies this year more than normal, normal is only during the spring time and a bit in the fall but this year it has been all summer.

Have a wonderful evening

Morning chicks!

I've got to go in to school for most of the day; I will start some classroom set up and help with wrapping up summer school exams. (SO glad I didn't teach this summer!) I will pack some of that tomato soup for my lunch. Yesterday I got my tomatoes pureed and into the freezer, and finished making the soup. I also put the cake into the freezer to remove temptation.

Have a good day, chicks!

Good morning!
Today is much better.
Ladies, I get the scale struggle, & why I don't weigh everyday. But, avoidance has been my problem in the past too.

Beth, fresh tomatoes are the best! I love to make gazpacho this time of year & need to get on a 2nd batch. My SIL makes a delicious fresh salsa.

Lexxiss, what's this Beth said about a rum smoothie???...lol

Pearlrose, I hope your work worries ease soon.

I must admit, this retired teacher & empty nest grammy, loved the back to school days, but I don't miss the busy pace one bit.
Last night was a nice dinner out, easily avoiding bread & dessert. I did enjoy some wine & few bites of cheesy grits, along with an amazing red fish & salad. I'm super excited to have a weekend ahead with no set plans. Hello, grocery store, pedi & knitting needles! I'm seriously not being sarcastic...lol
Peace, Chicks✌

Good morning,

Well I finally managed a full day of op eating again yesterday. I have gotten in the habit of not eating after dinner, only water after dinner and I think that is helping me shrink my portions during the day as well. Scale went down this morning so that was good news. Today is wfh for me, tonight there is a football scrimmage game at the HS don't really want to go since the band is not performing lol. Tomorrow DD1 is coming over and we are going dress shopping for the wedding next month. Can't wear the same dress as the wedding in May because it's her sister wedding lol.

Beth when does school start for you? I figured it wouldn't until after labor day since you all go so long in the summer.

Cenari if I don't step on the scale daily not a good thing I can easily gain 5 lbs if I am not always monitoring, especially when I am in the mode I am in now where it's a struggle staying op. Weekend with no set plans are always my dream weekends lol.

Debbie hope everything is going well for you. When do you leave again for Alaska I think it is coming up quickly....

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

glad you all read.....on the run typo rum...would not make for a good day!

Rose, glad you had an op day. I got some beautiful dresses befor Cali this rime. One o could actually wear to a wedding .

Ceneri, I weigh every day. With practice it becomes unemotional. For the same reasons Rose stated. I love knitting. What do you knit?

beth, great job with all your produce! I didn’t get too much this year. My 3 trips to California dented my abil to keep everything on track.

i work early at the restaurant both today and tomorrow’s. Hard in the morning much better in the afternoon. Must get organized. I leave for Alaska in 2 weeks. Yesterday morning I went to laundromat for a few repairs and stayedc4 hours. Getting caught up though. Went to Demver after for haircut and new bra. Crossing things off the list early.

have a great day everyone!

Good morning,

Last night after work went out to dinner with DH, then we went for a bit to football scrimmage at HS and then went to the movies to see Crazy Rich Asians, I liked it. This morning, already walked the dog, had breakfast and am coloring my hair. Next up is cleaning the house before DD1 comes and we go shopping. Scaled dropped a tiny bit more so that helps to focus me.

Debbie sounds like you have a plan to get all got up before leaving for Alaska.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, chicks. Still a bit rainy this morning so we are being lazy and drinking coffee. Later I should probably do some cleaning and decide if I will exercise inside or out. We went out to eat last night but I must have made a few good choices since my weight barely went up; I was ready for a big jump. Maybe I'm kidding myself about my food choices or portion sizes but the weight is really stubborn this month and I am hoping for some scale movement soon!

Rose, sounds like a productive and fun day! You asked about the school schedule; this year the kids start after Labor Day but the teachers have to go back the week before.

Debbie, I feel a little bad pointing out the typo but it was too good to miss! Especially Cenari had recently asked about what you put in your smoothie. Sounds like you are managing your responsibilities well. I don't know if I could keep up with your schedule!

Cenari, after some busy weekends an unplanned one is a nice break. I totally get loving unstructured time.

Off to refill my coffee cup! Have a great day all!

Good morning!
The scale is finally moving again! It went down another 2#s I'm super happy to report. It will probably waiver there another week before any more drops. That seems to be my pattern. Maybe one day I'll weigh everyday. I almost didn't this morning, but realized I hadn't recorded all week. That's been part of my plan this time, and the plan is working it seems. So, I'm determined to stick to it.

Lexxiss, I knit throws & hats mostly. Right now I'm working on a newborn cardi & hat set. I've started over 3 times on the cardi, but think I got it now. I love the soft pink cotton blend baby yarn I'm working with.
You certainly are on the go it sounds like, are you going to Alaska for work or pleasure?
Beth & Pearlrose, I'm amazed you can stay op & on top of exercise with your busy lives...way to go! I continue to struggle finding an exercise routine with no excuses.

Hope everyone has an especially lovely Sunday!

Good morning,

Sorry didn't check in yesterday, thought I did. It was a lazy morning for me yesterday and then last night went and saw Cyndi Loper and Rod Stewart in concert they were so good. Our original tickets you could barely see their faces on the stage but I put in to get upgraded seats and got them and they were amazing and cushioned seat to boot. I am very tired this morning though so didn't get to sleep til about 11:30 p.m. which is way past my bedtime. Today is work with lots of conference calls and tonight DD2 has practice.

Beth hope you enjoyed your weekend and glad the scale did not go up for you.
Cenari congrats on the scale moving for you that is great

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning, chicks.

I'm waiting for the laundry to finish and then will go out and putter around in the garden. I think I am going to pull out the broccoli plants; they are really slowing down their production and I think the rabbits are eating the leaves. I'll let the acorn squash grow into their spot; those squash plants take a lot of room! I need to run to the bank and grocery store later; not sure what else is on the agenda.

Rose, the concert sounds great. Glad you could get upgraded seats!

Cenari, congrats on the scale moving again. Weight loss takes patience and perseverance and I find as I move through my 50s it takes more of both! I tried to learn to knit several years ago and it didn't stick; most days I don't feel very crafty!

Debbie, hope you have a productive day! I'm sure you have lots to do to get ready for your trip.

Off to hang up the clothes!

Good morning!

Ceneri, great news on the scale moving down! I really love SBD as a long term way of eating/living! I, too, knit hats and throws. I lived in Alaska for 25 years and we still have a glorified cabin on the beach. I am driving one of our vehicles up to replace our dying old pickup. It made more sense than buying used up there-plus I got a new car for down here.

Rose, glad you got upgraded seats! Saw RS when I was in college and I think he’s every bit as good now.

Beth, I’m about to pull my cabbages. They got worms while o was traveling and aren’t going to produce. Acorn squash is a great replacement!

First I’ll qualify and say that one of the greatest things I love about following SBD long term is my consistent and pretty high level of energy. I find if I think it I can do it.
So.....I am at the airport waiting to board a plane to Tulsa. I am going to pickup an Okie from Muskogee.....a little dachshund mix named Lily. Found her Saturday night and the time was right. Actually, she seemed right. It’s been almost a year since we lost Kirby. Her owner died and family sent 3 “pups” to the shelter on June 25. Rescue picked them up August 10-covered with ticks. Her two sisters got adopted Saturday. She seems to have made a good recovery and can travel back on the cabin with me. I’m pretty excited!

well I am one the plane! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning.

Debbie, a new furbaby sounds awesome. Hope the travels home went smoothly.

I did not make it to the grocery store yesterday but I got a lot of stuff done in the garden as well as a ton of laundry. I'll take a walk soon before the rain comes and then do the errands run.

Have a great day, chicks!

Good morning!
Yesterday was my volunteer afternoon that I combine with morning errands on the way. It gets me going on Mondays, which isn't always easy.
Lexxiss, I'm still waiting for that energy boost. Your new pup sounds adorable. You got on a plane to get her?!? Amazing! We adopted a 10yo pug mix last Oct. It's like he's always been with us & great buds with our terrier.
Pearlrose, that does sound like a great concert. I'll have to remember about upgrading in the future.
Beth, patience has never been my strong point, nor weight loss, but I'm determined. I packed it on in my 40s & have been fighting it my 50s since.
Knitting came later too & I could have never stuck with it when still working.
Thanks for the congrats, chicks! I'm starting to feel some results too. Of course, my bras get loose first...so unfair!
