OK, here's a tip from the gym rats: NO MORE than 30 grams of fat a day. NO MORE, period. AND, are you ready: no carbs after 3 PM. What? I really don't think it matters when you eat, but I'm going to try the less than 30 grams of fat and see what happens for me. I've been able to stick to 12-1500 calories so far this week.

I got nauseated during my strength training today and had to stop. I had eaten 4 ounces of chicken about 1 1/2 hours before the workout and I felt really bad. The chicken was OK, but my body wanted carbs. SO, Torture Todd said toast and PB 45 minutes before the workout....and, he said that the body really doesn't use protein during the workout; it's all carbs. I should have known that I guess.

I'm off to a gathering tonight at the art gallery and I've made such a beautiful angel food cake. I might have a bite of it later.

I hope you're all doing well.

Maryann, hang on! Kyra wouldn't like to be there at all.

Toast and PB sound good to me. I like Todd.

I just had a plate of cantaloupe. It was delicious. I have a cookbook ordered from Amazon. Saw it advertised on "The Doctors" earlier this week. It's supposed to have 150 dishes 350 cal or less.

ooh, let us know how that cookbook is.

Did you hear that the frozen entrees from various manufacturers do not necessarily have the amount of calories they say they do. That's right, the calories you see on the package may or may not be in the food. The manufactures are allowed a wide margin for any individual package, they only have to have an "average."

I have no idea how I did it, but I'm another 2lbs down this week. I think I've been ever so lucky, what with a barby and a girl's night out to contend with.

Ooooh Tejas An angel food cake... I have to stop now and wipe the dribble off my keyboard.

Ontarget Thanks for the support. I was so expecting to stall or worse, gain this week.

Beachbum Are you still with us love? Or clinging to a flagpole in the next state? Any damage to your home? We've been following the news about Earl on the TV. Even downgraded it sounded pretty grim.

Yes, Maryann, let us know how you are

Congratulations Jojo. I'm envious!

I'm watching the birds gobble up food in the backyard, my normal morning routine. It's cooler today and they were a little slow waking up, and the blue jays are a little more cantankerous than usual for some reason.

All is well here, and I've had my PB and toast. Today, I'm really going to focus on keeping the fat to below 30 grams. I'll let you know how that goes. I should be going to a spin class or at least aquafit this morning, but I don't seem to be moving too quickly.

BBL,
Rhonda

HI Ladies

EARL IS GONE!!!!! EARL IS GONE!!! but left temps in the 70's no damage around me all the stuff on the patio didn't blow away.Going to take a walk along the beach some time this morning.

My friend at the last minute said she wanted to stay, she even walked the beach even as late as yesterday afternoon. She the free spirited one,I wouldn't go down when the predicting that it was around 3 PM but than by the time it really reaches us at 11PM is downgraded to a category 1
I'm happy that Earl is gone,as it would have been my first hurricane alone, and it was frightening, but now that all over I can breath again.

Walked along the beach, for 30 mins ,and than sat on one of those park benches and watched the white caps on the waves moving in. The winds are still blowing, and I got my windows & front & sliding doors opened to get the fresh air into the house.

Thanks for being there for me,being able again to see your post made me feel that you really cared about the approaching storm & me.,Thanks again.

Tomorrow my friend Mary and I are going to see Nanny McPhee,Returns. After that we are heading down to our local pizza parlor.

Monday I'm going to put the BBQ grill for Labor Day and I thinking of either BBQ spare ribs/baked beans are the old burger, hot dog & fries.

Just in time to get to the tv and put the deucshe bank golf tournament. I think they start every over the weekend than they do on the golf channel.

With all this happening around me I forgot to tell you I lost .5 at this mornings W-I. Looks like I'm out of the 170's and hope this time for good.

See you guys some time tomorrow after brunch and before the movies.

Maryann: glad to hear that you are safe and can enjoy watching your golf tournament instead of waiting for the power to be turned back on!

I went to aquafit after all. All is with me, and I hope it is with all of you.

Hey chickies! We are having cool weather today, and it is awesome! My DS and I did some back to school shopping for his art class, and I bought all of the paint that I need for my painting class. We are home now, and I am being lazy. I need to do some house work, but my head is in vacation mode 'cause of the Labor day weekend. Oh well, it will get done eventually.

Maryann, I'm so glad you are okay! Enjoy your time with your friend tomorrow!

GTG try to get motivated. I'll check in later.

I hate to be the "debbie downer " poster but...

I was already blue this week and this morning Robin found my rabbit
dead in his pen. Something killed him and tried to remove him through the
wires of his pen... I have had other rabbits but this fella (Dexter) had a special place in my heart... I just hate he had to suffer through something like that.

Right now I feel like I never want more pets ...My wonderful dog is very close to having to be put to sleep ... I am sure after some time to get over it all, a puppy will be a good thing but right now the heartache doesn't seem worth it...

Oh NO, Nancy. I'm so sorry. I know how you feel about no more pets. You might change your mind, but I KNOW the feeling.

When I had to have Anna euthanized in '08 and Jake died in '09 I was just sure I couldn't do it again. And, yet, here we are with 'ole Kyra. And, I'd bet that even she won't be the last one.

Post away, Nancy, just don't eat your grief!

So glad you are OK Beachbum. Hubby and I have been thinking about you and watching Earl's progress.

Oh Nancy, I am so sorry. What a horrid shock.

Sloanie. In the UK a ‘Sloanie’ is also known as a Sloane Ranger. These are rich girls, from super rich or aristocratic families who play at making a living in London (nanny, is a favourite one) and are just marking time until they find someone equally rich to marry. They tend to have apartments in Sloane Square, an affluent part of Chelsea. The most famous Sloane Ranger was Diana Princess of Wales.

Jojo, thanks for the "Sloanie" info. My screen name is Sloanie because that's what my cousins called me when I was younger. My first name is Sloan which was my grandmother's "maiden name". When I was in London 35 years ago, I met a bank teller whose last name was Sloane, and we decided that we were probably related. I know that my grandmother's family came to the US from England, but that's all I know. I can't wait to share your story with my mom. I think I'll pretend that Sloane Square is named after my long lost family

Nancy, are you okay?

Have a great day today, y'all! Oh yes, I stayed op all day yesterday

Hi Ladies

Just wanted to let you know that I going got to the movies in 15 mins with my friend Mary and I won't be back until late this afternoon.

Won't even believe a storm like EARL was here, no damage anywhere with the sun shinning and the cool ocean breezes blowing what more can you expect. I guess Labor Day weekend is going to fine after all.

After taking that sleeping pill the night of the storm gave me a terrible headache the next morning feeling droggy and other symptoms will use the pill sparingly.

Have a nice day,See you guys in the morning.

Hi, Chickies. I can't believe I didn't get here yesterday. I thought I had. Guess I'm suffering from old-timers'.

Maryann, I am so glad Earl is gone. I was worried about you. You had to be terrified--but you showed us the brave woman you are.

JoJo, congratulations on losing this week. You are ding fantastically.

Rhonda, I will let ya'll know about the cookbook asap. I'm guessing it'll arrive Tuesday. I'm watching hummingbirds right now. However, ou bird population is down today.

Nancy, how sad about your bunny. Do you think it was a stray cat? We've had one around here that's taken out our wild rabbits and 2 of our 3 squirrels. Sad. Yours has to be sadder since your bunny was a pet. I'm sorry this happened.

I am thinking of weighing in the morning instead of Tuesday. My goal is to weigh every 30 days. Tomorrow is day 90. I think I'll wi before day 30 is over instead of waiting. (Am I making sense?)

Sloan, you rich chickie you. I am impressed. That is very interesting about the history of Sloanie. Thank you JoJo for sharing.

We are waiting a few more minutes before going to church. They were doing some inside painting yesterday and we are avoiding the fumes.

Have a super Sunday, everyone. I'll catch you later.
