modkittn~ Congratulations!!!
vdaybaby~ Our cats used to tackle our bulbs too, but there was really nothing we could do from keeping them from taking out the tree at least twice a year. My dad finally jerry-rigged a way to tie the tree to some temporary hooks in the wall that we placed behind the tree so no one could see it. Other then that... I don't know...

Down 1.6 at my WI!!! I actually did a little jump when I saw her write it down because I realized it means I finally broke 15 pounds. It's kind of been a mini road block for the past few weeks, so I'm hoping this marks a break through... The night of my weigh in is always my cheat night, so we ordered some pizza. Ironically I'm stuffed after 3 small pieces. I normally could eat a whole large pizza on my own... I'm amazed I lost with TOM and having been sent home early from work because I was sick. I ate lunch later then usual because I slept for a bit, so I was really thinkin I would see a gain...

Kim - you're lucky that your TOM makes you not want to eat! Mine turns me into a Hoover... WTG on getting up and doing Turbo Jam! I think the 20 minute one is just the mini-workout, isn't it? And the 40-minute is the one she wants you to do regularly? I have never once been able to keep up with the cardio workouts, I am so uncoordinated. I just do TurboSculpt, which I love! WTG on the weigh in!!

vday - ah, that doesn't sound so bad. actually I'd say it's pretty good if your definition of binge is shrinking to include a couple bites of mac n cheese and some ice cream! I also recommend fishing line run to hooks in the wall behind the tree - you won't even notice them, and it will keep the cat from pulling it over. We use fishing line if our tree is crooked, but it will work for cats too!

Mod - exciting! A little girl!

I need to work on the eating after dinner thing I have going on right now. For a long time I was really good with just not eating after dinner - I was done with food for the night, I found other things to do. I've re-cultivated that habit lately, it seems, and it is probably my biggest downfall. I don't eat once I'm concentrating on something like my knitting, so I guess what I need to do is just pick up a project or a book and get started on it right after dinner so I am not tempted to eat more.

I look at my husband (who is this skinny little thing and LOSING weight right now for no reason, he's not trying) and wonder how he gets through his days. He doesn't eat breakfast. He'll have something like plain bread, a cup of milk, and a popcicle for lunch, and then twice as much food as I would eat of whatever I made for dinner. He's not eating much overall. He works at a coffee shop, how in the world does he not just eat and drink all day long? Sometimes I look at him and it just hits me how much of a different relationship to food he has than me. He can stop when he's full. If he's not hungry, he doesn't think about food. Even if he is hungry and there is no food around, he doesn't fixate on food until he gets fed, he just waits. It's so strange. Boys are weird

Happy Friday!!

I just started flex this morning and couldn't be more excited!! Finally, I can have my Kashi and OJ and not feel guilty, and why should I, it's healthy I had a friend look over what I was eating on core, and she said I wasn't getting nearly enough of the calories I needed and my body was slowing down. I always thought I was eating too much. Huh.

SuiteJudy- Ugh, men are such jerks lol. They lose more weight than us to begin with. My guy friends are doing a weight loss bet for fun (and beer haha) and have dropped like 20 pounds in a month, and they still can binge on alcohol and fast food and still be ok... I just keep thinking that I'm the healthier person You are too

KimL- Congrats on the weight loss! I'm totally the same way w/ pizza... I use to eat medium pizza's in like 10 minutes a few times a week (thank you prednisone lol) and now I find that the lean cuisine pizza's or 2-3 slices satisify me, especially when I pair it w/ a spinach or romaine salad

Mod- That's so exciting that you're having a girl! Do you have any names picked out?

Hope you all had a good week!

Hi Everyone! :sheepishly posts:

Interesting... I had all these thoughts & things I wanted to share with everyone... and now that I'm typing, my mind has gone blank.

So instead I'll just pretend that I popped in to say "Hello"

So I'm kind of excited about these new changes at WW... not sure what it all means, yet, because I go to meeting later in the week, but I'm very curious.

I got a ton of things done today around the apartment. But there are still unopened boxes... and things left to do... -_- Does it ever end?

Anyway, hoping to catch up. I hope everyone is doing super!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone!! I go to the meeting tonight and get my new material for the new plan. I have to admit I'm kind of/sort of looking forward to it. Not looking forward to weighing in though. I just "feel" fat today. Oh well, water, water, water and hopefully that feeling will go away soon!!

Have a good Wednesday and I'll check back on here later. I'm on vacation next week so I'm hoping to be on these boards a little more then!!

Oh and one of my boss's brought in chocolate doughnuts. A lethal combination for me - 2 of my most favorite food groups!! I think I'm in deep doodoo here!!! AURGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

sammi - how are you doing with Flex now that you've been on it for a little while? Do you feel better eating more?

Faerie - I was wondering about you! I hope you had a fantastic honeymoon, and good luck unpacking - that is an arduous endeavor if there ever was one!

Laurie - How'd you do against those doughnuts?

The chat thread has been so quiet lately. I know I've been away because I'm having a hard time staying OP - what's you all's excuse? I know I've said it a million times, but I'm recommitting today. I have already struggled with having a healthy breakfast, but I made a good choice. I went to the grocery store and bought a giant load of fresh vegetables (there was a bunch of "imperfect" produce on deep sale, so I bought a lot - and I hate wasting food, so I'll have to cook it all before it goes bad!). I've planned out dinner for most of the week and have all ingredients on hand. Here is what I'm having:

Peach-ginger tempeh and quinoa
Moroccan Kale and Chickpea soup
Polenta pizza
Pasta with various veg, 'meat'balls, red sauce
red beans and rice
cabbage and corned 'beef' and potatoes

Tonight is DH's work's Christmas party. I have to make three different kinds of fudge to bring - I am going to have to convince myself it tastes terrible so I am not tempted to try any beforehand. Now, avoiding 20 people's worth of treats tonight may be another matter... We shall see how it turns out.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

suitejudyblueeyes~ How did the Christmas party go?

So I had a really hard time staying OP this weekend because my bday was yesterday. My family wanted to celebrate Saturday, my BF on Sunday and my BFs family wants to celebrate tonight. I kind of feel obligated to eat the cakes they make, partially because I feel bad if I don't and also because of the death stares everyone gives me if I start to push the cake away. Must be nice to be naturally skinny and able to eat whatever and think that losing weight shouldn't be hard at all...
So one more night off plan and then I will go psycho OP...

Hi there ladies! Wow, chatting has really been decreasing on this thread, huh? A lot of times I feel like I don't contribute much, at least to the weight loss portion of the discussion We decided on a name - Phoebe Lynne. I can feel her a lot now moving around, its still weird sometimes!

Congrats on the little girl, mod! Beautiful name. I have two little girls myself. I sometimes miss the feeling of a little babe moving around inside me, enjoy your pregnancy!

I've been kind of lax about recording my food here, and it shows in my weight loss. Plus I kept putting off going to the grocery store, and eating a bunch of crap. Time to get better about that!

Kim - You'd be surprised at how 'off plan' once you've been OP for a while isn't quite as damaging as it used to be. I hope you have success getting things back on track, birthdays are tough!

Mod - *nods* Yes, mmhmm, I see you've chosen wisely for the middle name. I speak from experience, people with the middle name Lynn turn out nicely (yeah, I'm a Lynn too). Phoebe is a great name.

Kestrel - I was just where you are now a few days ago! Get to the grocery store and plan out a few meals, see if it doesn't help immensely!

Well, the Xmas party last night was a bust - DH came home and felt terrible so we didn't go. All the fudge I made was just sitting around, and I was eyeing it... I had a couple pieces, then packed it up and took it down to the dang party myself. The only alternative would have been to toss it out - I could not keep that stuff around. DH is feeling better today, I think it was a digestive issue - when he eats poorly he actually gets feverish and weak, it's so strange. I asked him what he had eaten in the past couple days and it included a can of sweetened condensed milk, Ramen noodles, and a Baconator from Wendy's. No wonder!

Today is going well for me! I made a yummy vegan version of corned beef and cabbage for dinner last night, and tonight it should be peach-ginger tempeh, quinoa, and broccoli. However, I might go the lazy route and do the polenta pizza or just plain pasta... We'll see what I feel like once I get hungry.

Hope everyone is well!

Happy Tuesday!

Wow what a weekend! I finished finals last Thursday, came home Friday and went to Charleston, IL to visit EIU grad school and came home last night. I can't believe how cold it is! My mom and I made 2 trips to the Cracker Barrel in 2 days. I was a good girl and had the grilled chicken tenders instead of the fried but had a craving for fries. Oh well, I stayed within my points and still have 2/3 of my WPA left. I'm going to be good 'til weigh in on Saturday. Hopefully I will have lost a few pounds

Judy- I LOVE being on Flex/Momentum! I finally feel like I have the freedom to eat the healthier things I was missing out with when I was on Core (Kashi cereal, Kashi waffles and Kashi snack bars). Though I still find my days to cheat a little but stay within my points I just have issues with portioning and weighing on some days, so those are the days I try to stick to lower point foods and snacks

Mod- I LOVE the name you picked out for you little girl

Hope the rest of you are having a good day

Good Afternoon Ladies. Sorry I've been MIA for the past week. I really have no reason for it other than I just didn't post. Anyway, onward and upward I suppose.

When I weighed in last week they told me that the scale they had been using has been "broken" since the beginning of November (when I started). So they said they were going to use everyone's weight from November 5 to start everyone out on Momentum. So at this point I really have no idea how much I've lost but think I'll use the weight on my scale here at home instead of theirs for posting purposes on this thread.

Been doing pretty well sticking to plan and points. Personally, I really don't notice much difference in the way I'm eating following Momentum compared to Flex. I always tried to eat more "core" foods anyway. Guess that means I was following Flore.

Mod - I love the baby's name. So cute!!

Suite - The doughnuts got the best of me but I took one and cut it in half and ate half one day and half the next. So not too bad considering that I would have eaten 3 or 4 before. So I'm counting this as a victory!!

Sammi - How exciting - Grad School!! Will you be moving a great distance?

Kim - Happy Birthday a few days late. I hope you had a good day.

What is everyone doing for the holidays? I had Christmas with 3 of my grandkids last night. Went bowling, opened presents and then went to the school program. Will have Christmas with my DD and her family this Sunday and then another the weekend after Christmas. And then I hope to be done!!! Going to try my best to stay within my points but not going to stress too awful much if I don't. Hopefully by spacing them out like this if I do go over my points I'll have a few days to get it back under control before the next celebration.

Sorry, I didn't mean to write a book here. I'll check back in tomorrow. Have a good evening everyone. It's snowing here - Boo Hiss!!!

Wow we have been HORRIBLE at keeping this post going, eh ladies? I was on vacation for a couple of weeks from work and used my computer at home very sparingly. How were the holidays for everyone? Mine were pretty good. I have been packing on the weight too quickly lately, so I need to slow down. I am up 27 pounds already!

Yeah, this area hasn't seen a lot of action lately! I wonder where all our regulars ran off to?

I'm doing ok - was back OP all of last week and lost a couple of pounds. Went off plan again this weekend, which I am recovering from now. Dealing with some stress at home - long story short, husband is leaving for an indeterminate amount of time. Trying not to eat my emotions on a daily basis; failed Saturday. Getting up, moving forward. That's about it for recent news over here...

I have some good meals planned for this week. As long as I cook in the evenings, I can be certain of OP days. It's when I don't cook that I start having to get last-minute meals be they fast food or random grocery store gatherings... So I'm resolving to not let that happen anymore this week!

I thought that bringing my food into work today would help me stay eating healthy for the day. I was wrong. I forgot that I had Mentos in my bag that DH put in my stocking and I somehow managed to eat 2 packages. At least there is only one left?!?! I was craving sugar like crazy. This whole pregnancy has been like that. I need to find healthy alternatives, like maybe keeping bananas everywhere.

Jaime why is your husband leaving, or is that too private a question? Way to get right back OP though after Christmas!
