Melissa, you are a wonderful cheerleader. Let me return the favor.
GO GO GO!!
You can do this.
There is no doubt you are a wonderful Mom.
Now get thru this test so you can share your sweet natured goodness with other children too!! I bet some exercise-- a stroller walk with Mckensie may energize you.... esp. if you have some iced coffee alon the way

And cleaning? a quick pick up and leave any major stuff for another time!!
And cooking-- get out the crock pot!! love that!! I am eating beef made in a crock pot on salad right now. Yum!

Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah!!

I will be sending you some 'ace that test' vibes, Melissa! Just quick tidy, chuck stuff in a crock pot like they were saying.. and then your mind will be a bit clearer so you can study some. You can do it

I'm moving to the US soon with my Fiance and am looking into education programs.. specifically kindergarten education. Do you need to have a bachelor of education to teach in the US, or are their different routes? When you said teaching licsence it caught my eye I have a degree in english.

Anyway, you can do it! I beleive in you!

Yeah, have you noticed each challenge seems to have a general trend of the majority of us losing, gaining, or maintaining?

Well

I weighed 150 again this morning, but decided to take everyone's advice and switch to a digital scale, so I would know the truth

Well I think I liked living a lie better.

I just go home with my digital scale and yes it is the middle of the day and I was completely dressed but I weighed 155.6

It made me feel so wasted. I know it wasn't because my clothes are smaller but Man!!!!!

Yuck! Guess I will start completely over tomorrow with starting weight and all.

Getting off to go sulk!!!!!!!

Hey Heather, all scales are going to weigh slightly differently. My bet would be that if tomorrow morning, you stepped on the scales one after the other, the weights would only be a couple of pounds different (my digital scale weighs 1 lb heavier than my analog scale). However, it's the difference in weight that matters. You've still lost 5 pounds! Just pick a scale and stick with it, but I would suggest that if you choose your new digital scale, change your starting weight to reflect the amount you've lost, so you don't get discouraged. Just my 2 cents.

kittycat - thanks soooo much! I made myself get up and do my work outs!! LOL! I will be okay its mainly just this test I'm freaking out about!!! I need to study my booty off....LOL... thanks for the advice! Crock pot sounds like an awesome idea.

fauxtini - Hey... When are you moving to America?? Yes you have to have a bach. degree to teach. Every states teaching reqirements are different. In Tennessee (I live in TN so that is all I can speak of)....you can get a teaching degree or if you already have a degree say yours in English...then you could teach English in some schools while they help you get ready to prepare for your certification tests....so really all you would need to do in TN is take your Principles of Learning and Teaching Test....and take your test for your subject area which would be English....as far as lower grade teaching I don't know because I am in secondary education (which is grades 7 - 12)...my focus is Biology!! I love it! I can't wait to teach! I plan on getting my masters and then later my PhD....I would love to teach at the college level....the funding and things you are able to do are much greater at this level

Hi Ladies,

I need to get myself a digital scale as well...the one I have moves too much depending on how I stand on it. I try to get the most accurate reading possible, and go with that. Today I was down to 185lbs, which I was happy about considering what I eat this weekend. EEK.

So my here are my weights and goals.

SW 185
CW 185
GW 180

To get back to 180 would be sooo exciting! I haven't been able to break through to the 170's since I started this whole weight lose journey!! I'm also going to start my running program today, so wish me luck!!

Thanks Jessica! I think I will do that, it will help me

Fauxtina- I taught theatre for years 9-12th grade, and when I wanted to teach kindergarten I went back and got my masters with an elementary education emphasis and I had to take all the tests Melissa is talking about. But I'm from tennessee also. So to teach elementary you will probably have to get an additional degree of some kind in elementary education whether it adds to what you already have or is something you have to start with. Did you already have a teaching minor?

Going to bed, not anxious to weigh in the morning

Can I join you guys? I signed up for a 5K (Aug 24) to get myself into weightloss mode. I have to have a goal to work towards or I lose it completely. I need help and 5 lb challenges seem like they could work to keep me accountable, beside losing 5 lbs makes running easier.
I don't need to win, I choose to LOSE!!!

CW 182.4 (7/22)
