Good Evening to all!

Father's Day was a great one for me! I got to see my Dad and sit b/t him and my DH for the church service. There was a speaker there from India, a Bishop actually. His testimony was really seeing into another world.
Eating was ok but not great....I never eat enough when we are traveling and it just throws me off every time.
Meowee~~I spoke with a friend of mine in Nova Scotia tonight and I think the fires are about out now. They have reached water for the most part and with the fog that is expected tonight maybe they will be out soon. His son is with the FD there and that is his take on it anyway. I feel for the two homes that were lost and the families in the fives of thousands that were displaced.
CHRIS~~I hope BOTH you and your daughter heal quickly! My prayers are with you.
BOB~~ I am jealous! I so want to see The Bucket List!
TONI~~When you talk food MY MOUTH WATERS!

Good Morning . . .

My day is looking decent -- both the weight and the blood sugar went in the right direction this morning

More importantly that fire has finally been contained (as Peggy mentioned) and all but 50 of the 5000 evacuees have been able to go home and damage is relatively minimal for most people, although not for the environment of course . The firefighters finally got a break and the wind shifted and blew the fire back where it had already come from and it quite literally ran itself out of new fuel.

So . . . although it is rather overcast this morning, at least the fire haze has blown away and I can get out to at least get some groceries if nothing else. Other than that -- nothing new or exciting in my plans -- hopefully I'll get back a little later to start that book review thread I mentioned the other day. In the meantime, have a great moving and shaking kind of day, everybody.

Good afternoon everyone. We spent a nice Sunday out. Steve got a new barbecue grill from Lowes and got to look at all of the man things with me dragging along. UGH! We looked at tool and tool and did I say tools. Of course he has every tool known to man. But ended up with a good ole Weber charcoal barbecue. And yep we did have mexican food. I cheated!! Plain simple. I ate all the wrong things. And had two ice cold beers on top of that. So I'm humble today. This evening I start walking at the camp ground I hope. When it cools off. So wish me luck.....

chris- Yep the day was a success... How are you and daughter feeling?

Peggy- Sounds like you had a great day with your Dad. How lucky you are to have him.

meowee- So glad the weight and blood levels are okay today. What more can you ask for!!! Hope you got to grocery shop. I'm so glad the fire is contained. Hope the air is okay.........

Okay Sugar Shakers I'm on my way to cook breakfast/lunch for the hubby. Did I mention I've got the best white meat peaches. They're yummy.

Can't believe nobody has been here since me. Come on ladies get with it. I just ate a lean cusinene spa meal for dinner and a glass of wine. I'll be going in 20 minutes to walk at the camp ground. Hope you all have had a good day.

Hey Toni....I was here but did not post. Had to go get the outdoor carpet and ceiling fan for the gazebo we are having built. I think most every one works days and I don't think some of the regulars have posted on this new board yet! What's up there? I miss lots of the ladies too!

I don't know where so many of the regulars went. I miss them all posting. I walked, I walked......... Went to the campground and gave it my all. Hope I can keep this up. I may have to get up early and get out in July and Aug. Its so hot here.

Peggy- Your gazebo sounds wonderful.... I would love that to go out and have my coffee in it.

I know Toni! And I don't know any email addresses to write them. I have scanned the other boards as best as I can (not sure I am even doing it correctly) and I can't figure out the PM thing on here, But I am really missing them! We are happy to be getting the gazebo here. It has been several years in coming and I thought if I got it in I might get some idea what to do with this horrible back yard! Enjoy your walking! I do mine in the early AM, too hot here after 10 AM now.

Good Morning . . .

Not feeling too perky today -- partly weather since it's pretty overcast and supposed to rain later one -- partly because this is the day for my annual Gyn visit -- partly because the weight blipped up again. Oh well -- everything on the list will pass in due course. At least the BGL was not too bad.

Didn't get a chance to start that new plan/book review series yet, and today doesn't look promiosing either. But, I will get there, I promise.

Peggy . . . PM 101 time . . .
At the very top of every forum page (right where it says Welcome PeggyJ) there is a link to Private Messages. Click on that and it takes you to the PM area in User CP. In the list at the left, click on Send New Message. In the Recipient box, type as much as you remember of their name and you'll get a list of all the similar names -- for example, if you type in 'peggy' you'll get a fairly good sized list that you can just scroll down and click on the right one -- then you just proceed as if you were doing a regular post.

Hope everybody has a good day . . . see you later

Thanks Meowee!
This time the instructions took I think! It just seems so many are missing since the crash, and I would really like them to return! I did just a few PM's and that is all I can do. Before, when I tried the PM thing, I got some message about not being authorized to to that, and it freaked me out, so I never tried again. Maybe in the first few days of learning about boards? Anyway, I thank you again for your help! Hope your feeling better!

Hi all!!!!! Sorry i have been missing in action over here...my computer crashed and has been in the shop getting diagnosed...we did end up having to buy a new one, since the cost of repairing the old one was almost the same price..!!! Thanks for your message, Peggy, I wasn't able to reply due to you having your message settings off and you aren't accepting messages, but thank you so much for thinking of me..I do appreciate it!!!!
Hubby and I were able to sneak away for a few days...(the inlaws were in town to watch the kids), but it was quite a challenge for me to try to find the right foods to eat..as every night was a lavish buffet (at the resort), loaded mostly with high carb foods, as well as high salt content. I ended up coming home with a few pounds of water weight just from the salty foods...so it was very nice to see that all come off when I got back home and was back to healthier food preparation. Omg!, the desserts looked so amazing too, but I was good and didn't even taste a smidgen! I was so proud of myself...because I know that before SB, I would have had to have tasted at least a few of them...lol... I think I was too scared to start all over again with the whole sugar withdrawal...and that was enough to keep my willpower on track.
Well, it's been super hot here in NJ, I hope all of you are staying nice and cool wherever you are....I have missed all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so good to be back! ~ Ashley:-)

Good morning everyone. Just had a breakfast of oatmeal and pumpernickel toast and of course coffee. I probably shuld have had so OJ. Eating has been good. I'm trying not to eat at night and did well last night with only having a few walnuts and lots of water. Thats sure important especially this time of year to try and get your water in. Plus I have 2 or 3 cups of hot green tea.

Ashley- Its good to see you posting again. Its nice you got away for a bit. And how lucky to have in laws around to babysit for you. Since the kids are grown now we need a dog sitter for our spoiled rotten boston terrier. But guess thats not going to happen.

Peggy- How neat you send out messages. I sure some of the people. I know its summer and everyone is probably busy with warm weather stuff.

meowee- Hope you get to feeling better today. The rain is a bit depressing...Sorry about the weight but it will come off. Curl up with a good book and a cup of tea. Pamper yourself.......

Okay have to go out of town today. Hope I walk tonight. I think Peggy is right and morning time would be better. Maybe tomorrow I'll try that.

HI there ASHLEY . . . glad to hear you are back in the cyber-world again. Thanks for the 'heads-up . . . I'll answer Peggy's question before she asks it this time . . .

PEGGY -- to turn on your private messaging, go to User CP, then click on Edit Options. Scroll down until you find the Private Messaging area and click on the first box. BTW, I think what happened when you tried to PM early on was that you were still in your 30-day probabtion period. During that time you are only allowed to PM to Moderators and you must have been trying to reach another member.

Hi TONI and thanks -- actually the sun is out now which is good -- unfortunately I still have that Gyn appointment ahead of me.

Oh Happy Days!!!!!!!!!!!
RICE~~~You are back! Lord Woman I have missed YOU! Sorry to hear about the computer crashing but was VERY HAPPY to hear about your get-a-way with your Hubby ! I never get enough of those! You ought to be all 'renewed" now and even have a new computer, so start blasting out some recipes ! Ladies, Ashley has the BEST Spagetthi Sauce recipe you will ever put in your mouth, you have to try it ! Did I mention I missed you? I am glad you got the PM and sorry you could not reply back. I thought I had it open to all but I will go double check per Meowee instructions....She who knows me too well already ! What would I do without her?

I may be a little slack in my posts for the next few days as I have some help coming to get my household back on track. Too much traveling, revamping things, etc., to do my housework decent. I am 53 yrs old and I have never had help with housework...I must be losing it! See you all later!
