  • Okay girls I am new to posting my points online...but I have been BAD. So I think this will help me.

    45 pts----to many my goal is 34 a day.

    I am not sure how to add in the work out points...so maybe you can enlighten me. I have been struggling with the same pound for 3 weeks. I want to get rid of it. I think I am eating too much.

  • Wow - there are so many new people! Welcome. It will take me a bit to get up to speed as I don't have time to read right now.

    Today is weigh in. I have had 3 weeks of eating all my extra points plus about 30 extra points beyond that - and not exercising. I got zero sleep last night and feel like a zombie. DH is in Muskeegon, MI on a business trip so I have full time night duty with the kids. I am sure I don't appreciate how much he does at night. Most of the time when the kids wake up I sleep through it and he deals with it. Now I am sleep deprived. The downside was the kids were disoriented and wanted their dad in the middle of the night.

    So I am going to the meeting and getting out a paper journal and really making an effort for this next month. Tomorrow is my last day of finals and Thursday is my last day of school. We leave for Mazatlan on Friday night and I have to have the house spic and span for the house sitter + have both the housesitters over for dinner to go over stuff. I will be there for 8 days, get home on Sunday morning and then leave for Seattle for 5 days of a class - my mom is picking me up (with the kids) in Seattle and we go from there to a friends, but then drive back home (about a 8 hour drive with kids) on the 3rd so we can be home for the 4th. We will have houseguests for several days starting the 5th and then we leave again on the 12th for a 2 week vacation. I have to drop my DH off in Seattle on the way home from that vacation so he can fly to Lima, Santiago, and Buenas Aires on a business trip and drive the 7 hours back home again with the kids by myself.

    Basically - I am on the road or have guests from Friday the 16th of June through July 25th. Many of the weeks I won't be able to make it to a meeting to weigh in. I think I will be able to find one in Seattle, but probably not in Mexico, not the week after Seattle, and definately not between the 12th and 25th of July. I will have limited or no internet access. What I really need is a game plan. How am I going to survive this next month without gaining 5-7 lbs like I usually do the first month of summer vacation.

  • I thought about switching to core - since points haven't been working well for me. Then I decided that it was me that has not been working well at points intead of the other way around. What I need is a good swift kick in the b***. I stayed for the meeting this week. It really helps to hear others that go through similar struggles. I am making ww soup this week and keeping greens on the counter to munch on when I head for the box of wheat thins or South Beach Diet Bars. I am resolved not to go to the grocery store this week since we leave on Friday and won't be around to eat it.
  • Hey Wendy, hang in there. I went through some funk there for a few weeks. Don't know if you remember. I was just grazing on fattening stuff all day for about a month. If I remember right, I weighed the same after 6 weeks. I was up down up down. You will get there.

    Grilling steaks tonight for dinner with a baked potato and grilled veggies if I can run out and buy some. Any suggestions on what kind of veggies to grill? I was thinking peppers with squash and zucchini.
  • Squash, zucchini, mushrooms and onions are wonderful grilled. We had that last night!
  • I have been grilling veggies a lot lately and slicing up the leftovers to go over my salad the next day.

    VICTORY: I went the whole day without snacking - kid food or otherwise. I had oatmeal for dinner, so not a completely normal day, but much improved.


    Now - this is one of those things you can only say online, because it would be too embarrasing otherwise. My mom baked a cake with the kids. Biquick coffee cake, then mixed up butter, coconut and brown sugar, puts it on top and broils till done. We are talking really, really good, + we ate these for dessert alot growning up - which means yummy food combined with nastalgia. So I did actually take a bite, but I spit it into the sink before swallowing. I feel crazy when I do things like that. Part of me says, what the heck, will one bite kill me? The other part of me goes back to if I screw up by taking one bite, then I might as well eat a whole peice. OK, got it off my chest. Hope I am not the only crazy person out here.

    That leaves me with 11pts for dinner. Not sure what we're having yet. My husband grilled a wonderful barbecued pork loin last night from a WW recipe and we may have leftovers of that with pieces of WW baguette and a salad.
  • Morrigan!!! You crack me up! After reading your posts, sometimes I wish we lived near enough to do our own group for weight watchers. Your MIL story had me rolling too. Congrats on not snacking. Congrats also on spitting out the cake. I used to make that coffee cake as a kid at home. I never added the custom top you speak of. Sounds good.

  • I was up early today. Had to go to Curves and get done in time to get home before my husband went to work. So the summer vacation begins. <sigh> I really don't like working out 15min after I roll out of bed. Makes me feel kind of ill.

    Anyway, I have my nice, skim milk latte now, so I should be alright. No food yet, but I don't want any yet, either. I'm having one of those "fat" weeks where I just feel big and full and bulky. Tomorrow is weigh in and I'm convinced I haven't lost any this week. I've only used 1.5 flex points all week, but I just really don't feel like I've been eating properly. Does that make any sense?

    Lily has her very first soccer game this afternoon. Not sure I know exactly how to be a "soccer mom", but I guess I'll learn. Hopefully the rain will hold off until the kids are done playing. We've had rain for the past three days.

    I'm rambing here. Sorry. Have a great, on-point day everyone!

  • Good morning everyone. I just got back from the gym. I did 20min on the elliptical. I saw my trainer (who didn't show up yesterday for my workout). He worked out with us today instead. So, I ended up doing 1hour cardio with 30minutes of lower body personal training sandwiched in between. I will have very sore legs tomorrow.
