  • Fresno-your metabolism has kicked into high gear now huh? Congrats on 168. 30ds is great, its a great workout in 20 minutes a day. It has 3 different levels. I didnt do 10 days of each in a row. I switch up everyday so I dont get so bored with it. Glad its almost day 30. I need a change.

Dance-good idea taking a break, hope the cold passes quickly.

Have done day 25 yet but will get it done in the next few hours. I have to head to the boys house later tonight and will have them all day tomorrow. I feel so tired tonight. I need to drink more water, maybe it will give me some energy. How is everyone else today? Vicky-how is the potty training going?

Day 25 done, 5 more to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been away again. Life sure has a way of catching up on you and I have found that I have no time to myself now.

Fresno: Congrats on the 160's! I hope to meet you there some day! You must have kicked your metabolism in the butt - good for you!

Burgundy: So proud of you for doing the 30DS! You are a workout queen! Still considering dusting off my copy, but I'm not sure. I have so many workouts from Jeff, not sure what I want to do. So sorry to hear about the yellow jackets! Poor thing!

Dance: How is your knee? Feeling better from your cold?

So, i have been totally busy. Potty training has been a blast! (Not really, sometimes you have to lie to yourself - LOL). Actually, Maddie is doing really well, only having one accident per day so far this week, usually in the morning at daycare. I'm thinking because she's still waking up and getting used to the "gotta go feeling."

My left knee is still in bad shape and it's actually causing some lower back pain and sciatica. Manageable pain, but still hurts. I went to Jeff and had him ARP it last Friday and it's getting better. I'm going 4 days in a row this week to just get it knocked out and taken care of. Last night I was working on both knees (super painful), but I got the dial to 8 (out of a possible 10), so I'm getting there. Once these 10 treatments are done, I'm going to work on strengthening everything so it never happens again.

Basically this happened becuase I was doing too much too fast. I began running 3 miles, but never fully strengthened my knees, so they couldn't take all the punishment. After all this is said and done, I'll be in good shape. My leg muscles are definitely showing now, which is a change! LOL

So, eating and everything has been fine, not working out because of my knees, but I'm going to get there. I'm still in the 190's, so I'm not too upset about not being able to work out for weight loss.

Hope everyone is doing well. Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?
  • Thanks for the continued support, girls!

Burgundy, I'll have to look into it. Twenty minutes a day sounds good! But I'm sure it's intense at times.

Dancer, how are you feeling? I feel you on the slow lane bit! Ha...it's definitely no fun. But you've come a long way, and I know you'll keep going!

Maddies, thanks! How is your week going?

I'm down to 166.5 today, after about a 45-min treadmill/circuit bit at the gym yesterday. I've worked out every day since Sunday, and I plan to go tonight after I get together with some girl friends.
I'm pretty happy to say...I think I'm at my lowest weight in the last 11 years or so. And it feels good! =)

Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement. I couldn't do it without you!
  • fresno - holy whoosh week, batman! That's an impressive change in ONE WEEK!!! No slow lane for you - that's the super highway right there - congrats on the great progress - you are an inspiration!!

maddiesmom - one of the many upsides to losing weight is definitely the reduction in the stress and hard work that we make our joints do. The skinnier you get, the happier your knees will be (at least in general - you may have other specific issues of course). You are quite the trooper putting up with all those painful treatments - yikes!

burgundy - are you on day 26? Hope so! You are a workout goddess!

Hope everyone's doing well. My skinned knee is on the mend so I feel less like a little kid and I think my cold is just a minor one and I got out for a good walk with a friend today so pretty much back to normal. Off to zip by the grocery store and home depot, my usual stomping ground during this remodel. Such fun. Happy almost friday, ladies!
  • And happy (finally) Friday to you! =)
Well, I took a night off last night, after going to run a couple of errands, having a later dinner, and giving my dog a bath. lol I'll be back on it tomorrow and Sunday though!
Back to 167.5 today. Booo! haha...I didn't fall off the wagon food-wise though, so I'm hoping for ...166 or so by weekend's end.
One good thing about living in KS? It's supposed to be 101 this weekend, so if I go outside, I'll sweat away an extra pound. lol!
Thanks again, girls, for all of your support, and Dancer, for all of your kind comments! We're coming to Denver in September...! For the Great American beer fest...lol...I'll behave though! Boyfriend's a beer connoisseur. I'll just do a little sampling. May ask for some tips on Denver though, since I've only been there once!
Have a wonderful day, ladies! Keep up the good work!
  • fresno - The beer fest is fun - we've only been once or twice as I'm not a major beer drinker. I loved the pretzel necklaces that people were wearing. Hmmm... wonder if they have diet-friendly pretzles somewhere. I like your 'sauna' weight loss plan idea for the weekend - it's supposed to be toasty here too - maybe we'll all benefit.
  • I hope so! lol
I had a rather large helping of Indian food at a local buffet today. Bad news = probably way too many calories for a lunch, lol...good news = I'm still stuffed and don't feel remotely like eating again any time soon. I'll have a salad and fruit for dinner.
Umm, pretzel necklaces? I may have to take a diet break that day, lol...
    Just kidding.
Hope you have a good weekend!
  • Vicky-I dont know about workout queen, Im not up to your level yet. But thanks for the nice words, thats always uplifting. You and Dance always know what to say. Glad Maddie isnt having many accidents. So sorry about your knee, is it doing better today? With Jeffs help you should be in good shape in no time. We need to work together and get out of the 190s and never look back.

Fresno-30ds is intense almost all the way through but I am sticking it out. This is my second time doing it 30 days straight. You are doing great, 150s here you come.

Dance-yep day 26 was yesterday. Glad the cold isnt keeping you down and you are still able to walk.

Today was day 27, man on man, am I ready to be done with this. I love that its 20 minutes but ready to do something different. I have plenty of other dvds, need to dust them off. I wanna do wiifit some more too. I thought the boys broke my wii the other day but I guess it was just overheated, it worked fine today.

I had very bad pains around my whole midsection that kept me awake until almost 6 this morning. Felt like when I had kidney stones just not as intense. I took some Bayer and rolaids and just rode it out. Finally subsided between 530 and 6 and was able to fall asleep. So I was LAZY today. I did go jump a few minutes and just finished day 27. Need to get in the shower now.

Tomorrow we are going to an outdoor flea market a few towns over. My hubby hopes to find some stuff for his motorcycle. Maybe I can find some more books, I can never have too many books. Chris wants to get pizza. I am gonna get a salad. Ready to bust outta these 190s so I need to make smarter choices.

    Have a fun weekend everyone.
  • Dance: Glad that your knee is feeling better and your cold is starting to subside. I always hated when an injury/cold got ahold of me, it completely derails me of my routine. How have you been doing eating-wise?

Burgundy: Knees are ok - not great - but ok. You are so determined with the 30 DS, hope you have some majorly lost inches!! You deserve it - you've put a lot of hard work into this! Sorry you weren't feeling well - are you still doing ok? Have fun at the flea market. BTW - I LOVE to read, so if you have any suggestions, throw them my way!

I ARP'ed for the 4th day in a row. Right now he's doing my knee caps, which is one of the most painful areas. The ARP is breaking up the scar tissue, but it's an extremely painful process. One of the Chicago Bears came in for one treatment and never returned! Guess women are tougher! LOL Jeff is on vacation until next Thursday, so he said no running, aerobics, etc. I can only do the isometric exercises. Trust me, I'm in no mood to run today - I was almost in tears the pain was so bad!

So, I'm feeling a bit low lately, not because of my knees, just feeling like I really don't want to do this anymore - the whole weight loss thing. I know I've made a lot of progress, but it just seems like this never ending journey. I'm not eating as strictly as I should be, I have to have a ton more protein since I'm working my muscles so much with ARP, I just don't feel like watching what I eat, when I work out, etc. etc. So....what is all of your motivations lately? We have all been on this journey together for a long time - just need a pick me up, I guess. I have one month to drop another dress size before I start looking for something to wear to the SIL's wedding. Not sure if I'm sabotaging myself from meeting my goal or what my problem is. What do you guys think??
  • maddiesmom - you are going through some really tough and painful stuff right now - it makes complete sense to me that now is not the time to be super strict at creating a calorie deficit. Think of it as practicing for maintenance maybe. I think another week or so of maintenance would be just fine - then you can kick it into a higher gear for those last few weeks before you pick out a dress - and you can always go dress shopping wearing spanx to simulate a few more pounds lost! I totally relate on reduced motivation - this last week or so with my scraped up knee and the cold, I haven't exactly been an exercise machine and I've had some treats. But even my treats are better and more limited than they used to be - pineapple popsicles (not sugar-free) instead of a pint of ice cream, baked tostitos with ff sour cream and salsa instead of full fat chips and dips. I bet you're similar - even if you're not POP, you're probably a heck of a lot closer to it than you used to be. Hang in there and wait out this painful period and then you can get going again. *hugs*

burgundy - you stud, you! so impressed by the 30ds streak - WTG! Have fun at the market - I love used book stores but have never looked for books at a flea market - curious to hear what you find.

fresno - Indian food is so yummy! That's one of the things I miss the most as I just know I can't be reasonable and just eat one small piece of naan - it's too good!

I'm going to try to fit in a run later this morning while the electrician is doing his magic. Not sure what we're doing tonight - maybe we'll walk to dinner somewhere to get in a little more activity. Hope you all are having a great weekend!
  • Vicky-I am determined to finish out 30ds. Tomorrows the last day. You must be one tough cookie to endure all the arp treatments and a pro athlete cant even do more than one. I am with you with this seeming like a never ending progress. I get like that a lot, like the other day when I said I need to make smart choices when we went out to eat. Well that flew out the window and I had breadsticks and pizza(with ranch) Not good at all. Take a few days break and spend some quality time with your family or just take some walks to think. We all need a break. You can get right back to being on track and you know you will. Hope things look up for you. You are an inspiration to all of us here. You will look great in the dress for the wedding, we will need some pics.

Dance-I didnt find any books at the flea market, oh well I have some here that I havent read yet. Im reading a mystery right now and Think! Light(lowfat living plan) I am enjoying it so far. Lots of the helpful tips.

Finished day 29 earlier today and then tonight I did another Jillian dvd(one of her early ones with some contestants from biggest loser) It was about 45 minutes and I actually liked it. I'll have to see what the name of it is later.

My hubbys cousin had her baby last night. Me and her have been trying to get pregnant for a long time and she finally did. Her name is Jade and I cant wait to meet her later this week. Shes gonna give me baby fever big time. I am planning on getting tests done to see if I am fertile and gonna drag Chris to get tested too, even though he says he wont go to any doctor. Im ready to be a mom. I love my job keeping other children but ready for the kids to be my own for a change. Want to lose a little more weight first though.

Hope everyones weekend was filled with fun. Happy Monday girls.
  • Well, I'm somehow back at around 170! I'm telling you, I've still been eating well....it's just, if I even take a DAY off from working out, I gain a pound back. Ugh. Working late today and tomorrow, and have friends in town...and I've basically lost my motivation for the week. I just do not feel like doing three or four straight days of working out. Isn't it ridiculous how sometimes you're super motivated and sometimes you have days like this? lol
Hope the rest of you are doing well!
How did the weekend treat everyone?
  • Fresno-just get back into your routine once friends are gone or even have them go on an evening walk with you. Im sure you didnt gain actual weight, its probably water.

I did finish out 30 day shred today. I am a little disappointed with the results, but still proud of myself for sticking with it. I am still at the same weight as when I started but I did lose a few inches so thats a plus. I wasnt strict with my eating while doing it so I know thats why I didnt lose weight. I am now trying to do lowfat eating and alternating my dvds everyday, plus start walking again. When I was walking, I was losing. Gotta go with what works for me. This is twice I have done 30ds without losing a lot or any. I think I will walk tomorrow and jump. Maybe use my ab lounger. I am sick of seeing 190 something everytime I get on the scale, I want to see 180something soon. Gonna get in the shower, paint my nails, read and go to bed. Have a great night everyone.
  • Burgundy: Hang in there sweetie, you will get there. Looks like you caught my case of the "ickies." I think it's completely normal to go through those cycles where you are on a high and losing, then we hit a plateau and it sucks. You will get to the 180's - we just have to keep chugging along I guess...even though it REALLY sucks sometimes.

As for me, I had the weekend from **** (eating wise). I think TOM is coming, I just couldn't stop eating! The hubby was gone for the weekend, so I made beef stroganoff, which I havne't had in forever...tasted sooooo good. So I had that Saturday night, stayed up until 1 a.m. Got hungry at 11:30, ate more beef stroganoff. Then yesterday, had pasta for lunch and chinese for dinner. To top it all off...a DQ blizzard! That was the end of my binge. I felt so crappy for the past week with the knee pain and ARP, I thought I deserved a weekend off. Now it's back on plan with a vengence.

Jeff is on vacation until Thursday, and I ARP on Thurs and Friday. This weekend was supposed to be the 5K, but my knee still feels super sensitive (if I move the wrong way a little, it kills me for an hour), so I think I'm dropping from the 5K. I'm looking to do another one in September - gives me time to work on my knees and another month to train.

Dance and Burgundy: Thanks for the kind words - it really helped my icky mood. I just have to keep chugging along and hope the scale soon follows.

Went shopping to try and find a cute outfit for the SIL's bridal shower in 2 weeks - no luck yet. Did find that I'm definitely not a 14 in dresses! Why do designers always size their different clothes in different ways?? (Pants vs. slacks vs. dresses, etc?) Drives me nuts! I have 30 days to lose as much as I can before shopping for the wedding. I gotta do this!! Keep me on plan ladies!!!!!!!
  • Wow, quiet board!

Dance: Where are you? I miss your upbeat posts.

Allison: Feeling better today? Hope so because you are a 30DS rockstar! So proud of you for sticking with it for 30 days. There's no way I could do it. Sounds like you have a new plan in place, so let's get out of the 190's!!!

Back on plan today after my weekend of eating - didn't do too badly yesterday either. Hoping to be down at least 5 pounds by the end of the month. If I could be 185 by the SIL's wedding (10/2), I would be thrilled.

Hope everyone is doing well and checks in!
