  • Quote: My brother has a chocolate lab puppy that he named Loki too! He told me it's the name of the god of mischief, which is perfect for his dog. LoL
My coworker's black lab is named Loki too!

Funny though, ours is absolutely not mischievous.

When we got them, they were named Billy-Bob and Thornton, to keep them together in the shelter. Thornton became Thor, and so we had to think of a matching name for Billy Bob (worst name for a cat!). He's incredibly subdued and was somewhat depressed when we got him... so.... low-key. Hence Loki. The Norse gods references were just fun but really have nothing to do with their personalities!
  • anyone that want to use the mascot you can just open the link then(right click on the cheer leader on the screen copy) copy and (right click paste)paste her from here into your sig or the current post you are using.. its the easiet way to use here .. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...miley/Blue.gif
  • Quote: Pintobean, I will be up with you in the morning! It's not really that I'm not a morning person, I just am more of a well if the kids aren't killing themselves or each other why crawl out of bed. Hubby gets up at 4am, I get up with him and make his breakfast, pack his lunch and send him out the door. Usually I go back to bed with my alarm set for 6 so I can get up to exercise.. but snooze is my friend and I find myself still hitting it every 7 minutes and it's after 8! Sooooo I am trying to learn to stay up from the time hubby leaves... I guess I can consider it extra me time, extra cleaning time.. since with teaching the oldest and working a bit with the younger ones and then playing mediator all day the house is usually a disaster! or I guess I could use it for extra exercise!
I totally understand (even though I don't have kids yet)... I have 2 alarms set 15 mins apart. I figured I'll at least get up on one of them but it never happens. Have you tried preparing lunch etc the night before. I usually pack our lunches the night before and sometimes even plan few days in advance. We've been trying to plan our breakfast and lunch stuff on the weekends and things we can prep and portion before we do it so it is easier during the week. It might give you more time for yourself doing it this way.

Quote: I will be up with you pintobean.....that's when I usually work-out as well. I get up at 5:30 and do one of my DVDs. I aim for 3 times a week. Good luck tomorrow morning!!!
Thanks I have just started doing it so hopefully I'll be able to keep it going. I'm waiting till my knee gets better then I can start doing the FIRM DVDs. Till then I'm going to walk on the treadmill.

Quote: I'm a proud new owner of a 2008 VW GTI.... I've been sitting in a dealership for 4 and a half hours just so I could find out my credit score is better than Daniel's so I had to be the main buyer of the car. Shame I can't drive a manual...
    Congrats on the new car!!!
I still baby my car even though its 2.5 years old...

BTW what's the cheat sheet everyone's talking about. I'm trying hard to catch up with the thread here but I must have missed something

  • Omg..I'm so sore right now. I dunno how I'm gonna work out tomorrow. Those biggest loser dvds are killing me, lol.

And an off topic mini rant. This chick who I used to be friends with wouldnt leave me alone all freakin day. She had to go and ruin my birthday. We're not friends because she stabbed me in the back, then she had the nerve to say that she didnt. Whatever. I know it was her. I thought I have moved on from all of it..but obviously she hadnt. She had to go and bring it up on my freakin birthday!!! She couldnt wait one more flippin day!!!!!!

Whew..okay, I just had to get that out.
  • Pinto - I bookmarked the Cheat Sheet, so I could look it up anytime!

    Quote: Yay Cheat Sheet Time!

I'll edit the information as we get more people showing up and adding ages and location.

Time to go back through 8 pages again so I can get personals caught up!
Francie - Sorry that some chick went and tried to ruin your birthday fun. I hope it was great in spite of that!

Goodnight everyone zzzzz...I'll be one tired person at the training tomorrow.

If you click on it, you'll see it's just a list of the Blue Team members, their names, ages and locations. So we can all keep track of who is who & from where. This way we don't have to go back through 30 posts to try & get the info right.

  • Quote: Velveteen...your cat Frank is beautiful!
Frank Sinatra is a popular name I guess!

Frank is actually our third siamese. We had two others, who sadly have both died..they were Max and Mia.
Thank you so much. I love my Frankie. He's 16 years old. I thank God every day that he's still with me. We've been through so much together (he even moved with me to the Netherlands) and he always knows when I need an extra cuddle. I love him SO much!

Quote: I have been a crappy mom today. Meara is tired and getting into EVERYTHING that she should not. She has wrecked our TV (one is already broken, this is the little one from the attic). She is climbing on counters, throwing fits. I am reaching waaaaay deep down to find some compassion, and I am not eating my stress.

    Is it 7:30 yet?

I miss TBL on Tuesday nights.
    HANG in there, Tee!!

Quote: Blue Team, meet Tansy. Tansy, now don't be shy, this is the Blue team.
    what a cutie!!!

Quote: Aww..I gotta show my babies now.

They are Sassy, Lucky & April. April's birthday is today too, lol.
    LOVE your kitties!!

    Quote: Very handsome.
Thank you. I'll let Frankie know you said that

    Exercise:
I did my workout this morning. I walked on the treadmill for about 45 mins @3.0 mph while I watched TV. I forgot to wear my knee brace so didn't do much higher speed. I told my DH to wake me up at 6 AM and if I resisted to just keep trying till I woke up and to even pull me out or throw me off the bed if the need be In case, I didn't mention I'm NOT a morning person at all. And I have to say he succeeded. I'm trying this new thing where I wake up early morning finish my work out and then go to work. So wish me luck!!
Wow, this is awesome!! I've given up morning workouts for now, since I already get up at 4.30 am to prepare my food. My schedule is too hectic to do it the night before, but I would love to get to a point where I could do the exercise in the morning as well!

Quote: I will be up with you pintobean.....that's when I usually work-out as well.

3 times a week is great!!!

    Quote:
I ended up working late (apparently no one got my memo that there are to be no crisis calls at 4pm!)....but I went to the gym and did 25 mins of cardio. Not the plan, but better than nothing!

When I came home I was pleasantly surprised to find dh doing the dishes. I LOVE him so much!
Way to go!! You still go the exercise in!

And what a great DH you have!

    Quote:
I've been pretty hungry the past 2 days - not sure why, since I started my plan last week! I'm doing WW, and am going to end up eating all my extra points for the week in just these few days!

    Cindy
Hang in there Cindy. It takes just a little while to find the balance. You'll get there!

Quote: Ok, since we're a team and we are here to support each other. I've got an eating problem. I can do fine and stay on plan in the morning, but once early noon hits, I want to eat. I don't care what it is, I'll eat. Sweet, salty, cold, hot, it doesn't matter. I'll eat and eat till I'm stuffed then I'll want to eat something after that. It's driving me crazy. My hubby says it's cause I'm bored. I think that has a little to do with it but I also think it's emotional eating. I could go for walks but I have two little ones who always gets sick when I take them for walks and there are alot of stray dogs in the area, especially pit bulls (no offense any pit owners). I have workout videos but I feel that they aren't doing anything for me. I am a sahm and don't do anything but clean and take care of my babies. I love scrapbooking but can't do any of it because I need to buy things to finish but don't have the money to do so. I am also a cake decorator and could bake cakes all week but with the cost of eggs nowadays, that alone would make me go broke. I really need some help. My plan is to watch my calories and try to stay away from carbs, fast food, oils, and processed foods. I try to do high protein low carb (it worked for me before). Please help me.
It must be emotional eating and boredom is included in that. Try to ask yourself, "Is my head hungry, or is it really my stomach asking for food?" If it's your head, then try to do something else. Anything. Try to focus on eating when hungry and not when bored, sad, frustrated, any of those emotions.

Do you have a journal or a blog? You could make an entry each time you pass up an emotional hunger pang and try to find the root cause. If you can't do the things you like doing (baking cakes, scrapbooking) is there anything else you like? What about photography? You could do a 365 project with yourself, your kids, your family... documenting each day in the life of ... When you take photos digitally and then edit them on the computer HOURS can pass before you are ready and then you'll feel REAL hunger in your belly. Just a thought. I don't know what else you like to do, but maybe it's an idea to write down ALL the things you enjoy that you could possibly do during these moments.
