I've been following the plan for a few days now, though I'm not sure if it's been strict as a friend borrowed my book. Hoping by this weekend I'll have it back and can really follow it to the T. However just by cutting out extra carbs and sugar (not a soda/coffee person either) I too got headaches, but they went away in a few days. Hopefully yours will too AuntieCiCi! I took it as my body starting to detox.
My menus have been looking similar to this:
B: 1-2 egg whites scrambled with about a cup of mixed veggies (peppers, onions, mushrooms, and carrots)
S1: piece of fruit or some fresh veggies
L: 1/2 cup brown rice with stir fried veggies (non stick spray) spiced with lots of garlic and ginger, maybe tofu too
S2: same as snack 1
D: homemade veggie chili for at least today, yesterday, and tomorrow as I made a HUGE pot, served over 1/2 cup brown rice
I should add that I'm already a vegetarian so this was not a terribly hard change to make to my diet
bbobsgrl, I don't have my book with me, but I was under the impression that the food amounts listed were maximums that we may have during the day, not required, just cause I don't think I could eat that much during one day!I also think the rice could be omitted, but I'm sure that and the oatmeal help with you feeling a little fuller for a slightly longer period of time. Somebody correct if I'm wrong on either point though. And I'm pretty sure sweet potatoes are totally fine for phase 1.
