  • I added location to the profile. I'm from Finland... I have been posting other weight loss boards about a year... but i have not been on finnish weight loss sites. They are too serious and really not that supportive especially when one gets this big... But here i feel like everyone is welcome and accepted as they are!
  • Thank you guys so much for the compliments. I feel a lot better about my choice to cut it all off.

Ammi ~ I have wanted to grow my hair long again (I love long hair and have had long hair most of my life), but every time I start seriously considering it, I change my mind and cut it again. This is so much easier ~ it literally took me 2 minutes to do my hair today!

Kayley ~ I have a question about the dreadfalls ~ are they clip-ons (how do you keep them in/on)?

Welcome, Kirsikka. This is an awesome site. You will like it here.

(I'm going to go change my avatar.)
  • Kayley - Thank you for asking about me. I've been pretty busy with work lately and have been dashing on here to read how everyone's doing and to quickly post my exercise, but that is about all I've had time to do. I'm really not sure where the time disappears to. I sometimes post quick replies on other threads, but I feel as though I want to put so much more time in here, to respond to people. I know that isn't necessary, but I like doing it. I may have to just bite the bullet and try to sneak in quick replies now and then. I do have my laptop connected at school, so could do some posts at recess and lunch breaks.
I LOVE your dreads! They look great. I am looking forward to seeing a pic of you all dressed up for the concert. I just KNOW you'll look fabulous.

Tasha - Your new hair do looks gorgeous! I love the length and the colour. I think I would like to get my hair cut really short some time, but hubby likes it a little longer (actually would like it REALLY long I think) and I do like to be able to tie it up when I exercise. I tend to get a little too sweaty. Mind you, if it was really short that may not be a problem. I'll have to think about it.

Amy - You are just cruisin' with your losin' aren't you? Well done!!! Keep up whatever you are doing.

Nancy - I'd like to know how you like the heart rate monitor. I've been thinking recently that I'd like to get one because I'm not sure how accurate the ones on the treadmill and bike are. My resting heart rate is just under 50, so I don't really know where I need to get it to for a good cardio workout. Some sites say that I should get it around 145 for my age, but that is almost tripling my resting heart rate, so I'm not really sure. I seem to only be able to get it to around 130 on both pieces of equipment. Do you know how to calculate your optimum heart rate?

Kirsikka - Welcome to the site. You'll love it here. Everyone is so friendly and supportive. They also have lots of good advice when you need it.

Not a lot has been happening really over here. I just seem to work, exercise, sleep and eat. It kinda all seems to be blending into a blur recently. I have a few meetings after work, which don't really help as that is usually my 'me' time where I can come on here and spend some relaxing time. This past weekend I got an attack of the 'guilts' and decided that I had better do some housework rather than spend extra time on here. It was LONG overdue, but I feel better about it now. That maybe means I can leave it for another few weeks before getting stuck into it again huh? Not really the best of methods I don't suppose.

Well, off to bed to read and hopefully have a good night's sleep, although it is a full moon, and that sometimes means I stay awake a little too long. We'll have to see. Actually... now that I think of it, the full moon could also be why I am feeling a little 'blah' and mixed up over the last couple of days. This may sound silly, but I tend to be 'affected' by the full moon. I mentioned it to a doctor once and she just chuckled and said "Well, where do you think the term 'lunatic' came from? There are lots of people affected by the full moon." Now, I'm hoping that she wasn't saying I'm a lunatic, but it's nice to know I'm not alone. I know that some of the kids get a little funny around the full moon, but it is sad to admit that I do as well. Poor hubby when the full moon and TOM coincide!

    Take care all,

    Zelma
