Just done day 1 week 6 c25k, I ran out of steam half way through! Oooops! My knee is giving me a bit of gyp - I forgot the glucosamine over the weekend and that must be making the difference.

That breathing sounds interesting, I wonder if I shouldnt try it, I seem to work my right leg more, but my left knee and left hip bother me. Go figure
I try not to concentrate on my breathing, instead just listen to the music and just go. I find if I concentrate on my breathing I get winded LOL probably because I realize I cant breath! just kidding.
Yeah, I spoke to my friend that ran the 26 miles she gave me much encouragement, and you all have as well. I so appreciate it!
I ran 4.5 miles both Sat and Sun- only stopped to walk on one stretch where there really isnt a shoulder to run on, so I have to walk on a very narrow section as to not get hit by traffic... but otherwise had nice runs.
If the weather holds out I hope to get my 3 miles in each evening after work.

Hmmm, I notice that my right hip hurts at times on the elliptical. I wonder if trying this breathing thing would help? Can't hurt to try I guess.

On breathin -- When I first started running, 2 years ago, I would absolutely NEED my music or would not go running... Since I've been running with the group of ladies, we concentrate a LOT on the breathing and almost make a mantra of it when we are running in a group... It's quite funny if you stop and listen because everyone is breathing at almost the same rithm and some of count 1-2-3 while breathing out and 1-2 while breathing in. So anyways, now that I do the breathing thing, I don't listening to music because I can't concentrate on my breathing strange I know...

I didn't run today, I had a great leg workout...

I'll have to try that on my treadmill run tomorrow. I've got 4 miles planned as part of the "follow the half-marathon schedule for a couple of weeks before committing" plan, and it might stop me getting bored as quickly. I'm definitely coming round to the running outside is best point of view, if only it wasn't so cold!

Hellen - I've said this before, I MUCH prefer the cold to the heat and humidity of summer... I sometimes think it's so cold and damp, but once I am out there it takes less than 5 minutes to get warmed up... You just need the right clothing, and that doesn't mean super heavy clothing, just the proper kind of wicking away t-shirts and socks mainly and a good breathing windbreaker... I've run in -15C so far this year and if there is no wind, it's gorgeous!! Add the sun and I'm in heaven

I really like the cold runs too, but then I haven't run in any other weather yet! I'm sure I'll get all hot and sticky once the warmer weather comes.

Yeah, in the summer I run in the early morning or not at all, I cant hardly get my legs moving when it is 100 degrees out. I love running in the cold, cool crisp air its very invigorrating! Its the WET that I cant stand, but do it anyway rain, hail, snow, it doesnt matter LOL (yes i was in the middle of my run and it started hailing, thankfully it was little tiny hail and wasnt coming down hard)

4.2 miles (40 minutes) on the this morning. Dull, dull, dull, I can't wait for the weekend so I can run outside. I always run early morning so summer doesn't bother me (and anyway it doesn't get that hot here). I want some decent gloves, I've got most of the rest of my clothes sorted but my hands just freeze.

YP1, they have great running cloves that cut the wind and if there is too much wind I just put a light pair of mitts on top and it's perfect...

I had a great 7k run today... The sidewalks were horrible though, full of snow, not really cleaned off, it felt like running in the sand, so I pretended to be on a beach ...

Did day 2 week 6 couch to 5k. I skived off 4 minutes at the end. Can I have opinions on this pls? Do you think I'm doing too much now, or am I just not pushing myself hard enough. I was going uphill when I stopped so perhaps that was a bit daunting. I'm also doing lots of other stuff like kickboxing and weight training 3 times a week so do you think it was wise to finish off early?

I've thought of a strategy for next time - instead of going up the hill, I'll turn down a side street that's fairly level and then come back. I think I need to push myself a little more, but then I don't want to overtrain! GAH!

2F -- I think that if you were overtraining you'd be feeling it elsewhere, joints, fatique, lack of motivation etc, I don't think those are you problems, although you are the only one to really tell if you have those issues.
