  • Hey, gals - I'm having a very busy day, so I'll have to do a "personal" response later. I think DH is mad at me We got a sitter this afternoon to go to brunch and a movie (Farenheight 9/11). When we got back, the sitter said Liam had been fussy the whole time. Then he continued to be fussy after the sitter left. He's been fussy this week from teething, though he's also been spitting up a bit - I'm not sure if the 2 are related. Well, the sitter was supposed to come back so we could go out to dinner (we had a whole date day planned). But I didn't feel right about leaving Liam with someone when he was being so fussy. So I insisted that we cancel and reschedule the dinner plans. But now DH seems very sad and is kind of pouty. But what was I supposed to do? Sometimes I get annoyed because he seems to sometimes resent the changes Liam has on our lives or something . . . I think it's easier for him somehow -- like he would have just left Liamm with the sitter, fussy or not. I don't know, maybe I'm the wrong one here . . .
    TTYL.
  • Leigh,

It's probably too late now, but next time when Liam is fussy, give him a bit of tylenol before you go. If it's his teeth, that should do the trick and then you dont' have to feel bad either way. I'm not saying do it all the time, but if you have plans with the hubby, give it a try. It's hard to get a sitter and hard to find time for date night. BUT, I also know it's hard to leave the little one's when you know they are not quite right. Hope you had a nice night even though you might not have gone out.
  • Good evening all,

Not too many posts since last night so I think I can keep up!

Michelle...sorry the numbers haven't been going down. I'm with you there....but like I said I've been snacking some at night and that's been slowing me down. Did you enjoy your day today? HOpe so.

Mel, glad bugga's back to normal . Found that Tony has his 9th tooth so there's the guilt again for all the times he's been cranky lately and I've yelled at him. I'm sure the next 3 are on their way. He gets sooooo whiney around me though that it drives me nuts. He can be with Dh and be fine...I walk in the room and he starts up. Makes me want to run away alot . Ah, motherhood!

Leigh...I'd try the Tylenol route too. But since Liam's your first...I totally understand your wanting to cancel the plans. Hopefully Dh will get over it quickly. You can still have a wonderful night together at home.

Spryng, that house sounds too cool. I love to watch "If Walls Could Talk" and "Building Character" on HGTV and I always think...damn, these people have a ton of money! I would love to fix up but don't think I would have the patience. Maybe before having kids! We've only had our AC on a couple of times this summer so far. It'll be hot a couple of days then cool again. Now it's supposed to heat up again. I think it was much warmer than they predicted because it was supposed to be cloudy most of the day and we had bright blue skies most of the afternoon...just pretty windy and cool in the shade...overall a very beautiful day.

Spent the day doing some laundry and hanging with the boys. I did take a couple of hours to do some shopping. Bought a Swifer Wet Jet mop...should have done that long ago! I love it. You've read my complaints about the white ceramic tile floor in our kitchen and I hate having to drag out the mop and bucket of water to clean. The wet jet is soooo cool. The highlight of my day (NOT!) Will actually rode his bike today. We bought him a nice new one this year and he rode it a couple of times and then would only sit on it. So we dug out his old one and he wouldn't ride that one either. My gf had suggested that maybe the new one scared him if he couldn't touch his feet on the ground. It also has the normal pedal brakes on it whereas the first one you just stop peddling and the tires stop moving and the bike stops. He finally got riding today and then didn't want to stop! So along with my 3 mile walk I also walked at least another mile or two with him. My resistance tube came in the mail today so I can start my resistance training tomorrow. We'll see how I do. It's just a stretchy tube with handles but feels like it'll make me sore. No pain, no gain!

OK, I had better get off of here. Hello to everyone I didn't get personal with! Take care and have a wonderful Sunday. Dh's brother is coming to town tomorrow (he's in IL for business, but lives in FL). so we'll be going to my MILs for dinner tomorrow...Popeye's chicken...how nutritious! I'll behave because I'll be busy feeding/watching the kids.

    TTYL!!
  • Good evening all!

Well my evening has been uneventful. Dinner was excellent. I loved those bbq beef burgers. And the homemade coleslaw was very tasty too and only 1 pt! I ended up making frozen fries for the kids in stead of the home made ones I planned because I realized I didn't have enough pts for fries anyway. The burger was 10 pts. But they loved their fries and everything else too. So that recipe was a hit. After dinner I crocheted some, had a big fight with my yarn (are you yawning yet? lol) it got knotted up somehow so I fought and fought with it and finally had to end up cutting it and throwing out part of the knotted mess. Frustrating when you pay so much for pretty yarn. Then watched some tv. So see? Boring! LOL. But it was a relaxing evening and that is what counts.

Geri I love all those shows too on old houses. My dream would be to buy that old house and really fix it up, but it's not realistic for us. I just hope someday we can buy a nice two story home, I love 2 stories. I don't think I've ever seen a resitance tube, sounds fun! Do you have a workout tape it goes with or you just use it on your own? I've never had popeye's chicken but DH loves it! There isn't one anyone near here. I hope you have fun at your MIL tomorrow!

    melissa, how are you tonight??

Leigh, there is nothing wrong with canceling those dinner plans to be with Liam. He is just a baby and probably needed you anyway. I think our dh's can get a little selfish at times, and it's understandable, they are used to having you all to themselves pre-baby and then this little person comes and you divert your attention from your spouse to your baby and it stays that way for awhile, but not forever. They are only babies once right? Could you have really enjoyed dinner if you were feeling guilty about leaving Liam when you knew he wasn't feeling good? I would have done the same thing as you. So don't feel bad, your dh will understand as soon as he has time to really think about it. So I have never asked you but what does your dh think of your weight loss and ww?

Michelle, sounds like those inches are melting off you! You are doing so great, don't let that number on the scale get you down. Your body will eventually even out and those lbs start dropping off again. But think of all the lean muscle you have been building in the mean time!

Well, I have to look up some info on Ozzfest for a friend before I go to bed, so I will chat with you all tomorrow! Have a great nights sleep! G'nite.
