  • I am SOOO ready y'all!!
It's a good thing I got back from NYC today...because I definitely DID NOT eat BFL style!!! And I only got to the gym twice - it was uh, blah type of gym. Okay but older equipment, everything was squeezed into a small space - I'm used to having a LOT more room. It really makes me realize how fortunate I am to have a really good gym within a few blocks from my place. It was pretty claustrophic in there and that's probably why I wasn't especially keen on working out during this trip.

I did do a LOT of walking though...except for taking a carriage ride through Central Park yesterday - we walked everywhere! Finally going up to the Observation Deck of the Empire State Building was a blast! Wish we had more time and money...but we're definitely going back sometime in the future!

    Here are my goals:

    1) Drink 1 gallon water a day minimum
    2) EAT CLEAN!!!
    3) 1/2 Free Day on Sunday (I can't commit to having just one free meal but I'm working on that)
    4) Keep the intensity going - hit those 10's!
    5) See my ABS again!
    6) NO missed workouts...the only time I see that being a possibility is when we go to SoCal to visit family for a three-day weekend...we're driving there...but I should be able to work out Friday morning before we leave. I'll have to do some research on the Net to find a gym I can use in the area for Saturday and maybe Sunday (usually my day off).

Before I go - I want to post a note I received from Pam this week (I haven't checked my home email since Tuesday morning!)
    Quote:
    Hey Karen!

Can you let the ladies know that I was trying to post a message tonight and must have forgotten my password!! LMAO But I wanted to let them all know that I am sooooo proud of each and every one of them for making this new commitment to themselves! There are not many people out there who would take a close look at their lives, decide what they need to change, and then actually take ACTION!! Wooohooooo!!! You all are the BEST!! From what I have read there are already SO MANY of you who have had great success already. My hat goes off to you!

I'll swing by from time to time to check in and say hello. Let the games, I mean challenge, begin!!!!! I'm in your corner rooting for you!!

    Stay Strong!

    Pam

Live your life with no regrets... go for your dreams!!!

  • MrsJim: my body is already feeling the negative effects of being without my NY powerwalking that I did for 12 weeks. Nothing quite compares to it.

I pulled out a lot of old M&F Hers and a few other books to make up routines for the coming 40 days!!! I am taking a free evening tomorrow (dinner plus dessert, probably Dairy Queen)....but on Tuesday, it is GO time.

I'm going to do AB work every other day. I am hoping to put together a routine that is similar to AB Bootcamp. I am definitely doing leg bootcamp. And starting tuesday I'm going to powerwalk in Berkeley during a long stretch I have between classes. The law school is at the top of the campus so I have to go up a loooooooooooooooooooooong hill to get to it once I go down onto lower campus, so that will be good. :

Also measurements tomorrow!!! I haven't weighed myself since May (when I was gaining a gazillion pounds during finals) so I might do that too (though I don't want to really).

I am so looking forward to this.

    we're in this together!!!

  • Got my plan from Pam B.
Pam emailed my plan last nite laste , and I perused it just before bed. I goot a say, at first glance, I'm really uninspired! (Sorry Pam if you lurk here-). Where are all those dreaded vegies? I have about 1/2 of what I used to eat vegieswise, twice as many carbs, bread, frozen vegies instead of fresh, corn- which I don't think I'll even be able to gag down after 1 1/2 years of avoiding high glycemic foods. And more MRP's than I've had in 3 challenges. I detest them. Plus the timing of the meals looks impossible, since 5pm is drive around to soccer practice time, my family doesn't eat til 7pm, 9:30am is go to work time...argh, the list of problems is endless. I guess I was expecting more the 6 meal BFL style nutrition plan, but with different foods. Right now I'm just really depressed about this. Plus the workouts look easier than I've been doing- she has me lifting 3 days/week with 5 of cardio, and has dropped out a lot of the heavy compound exercises that I live for- like squats and pull-ups! I'm used to lifting 4, and breaking up the big muscle groups so I can really work them. Basically I'm totally baffled as to how or why this is supposed to work.

Sorry to start out so negative...this just doesn't look or feel right at all.

I'm trying it I guess, but I'm sure not excited.

    Any suggestions from the veterans?
