Hey everyone - I took today off from exercise (although I did walk to the library and back, a total of ~40min.) but I did really well at work today! Even though I was hungry by the end of the day, which I always am before I get home for a pre-workout snack, I didn't give in to anything at work....it was like I wasn't even going to consider the sweets as an option. I have been drinking green tea as well with a little Equal to increase my water intake. Yum!!
As some people on 3FC say, failing to plan = planning to fail....so I am planning ahead for this weekend:
Thursday: Work out extra-hard because I won't have time on Friday (traveling 8hrs by car to a family reunion). Day 2 of C25k

Friday: Eat REALLY healthy today, since I can't get to the gym! I am anticipating being tempted by lots of delicious food, so I think that focusing on small portion sizes will be very important. Overeating will only make me feel gross & guilty

which I do NOT want!
Saturday: Get up early to use the hotel gym...do Day 3 of C25k

Sunday: Exercise in the morning and keep watching my food intake.
Monday: Return home....I don't know if I'll be able to work out though.
Iris - hope you feel better! I get cramps too (in my back) and it sucks because I need to start taking Advil 2 or so days in advance in order for the pain to go away

Exercise loosens up your muscles and eases the pain though, so if you work out you will probably feel better!! Even something low-key is better than nothing.
Chiquitaberlinda - It's so frustrating when we feel we are doing EVERYTHING right, yet we obtain unwanted results....I'm SO happy though that you aren't giving up just because of the number on the scale! The truth is that there could be 100 different reasons why you "gained" 3lbs. One possibility is that you are retaining water, or maybe it just has to do with the time you are weighing yourself. Personally, my weight fluctuates within a 4lb range in ONE given day! So don't be too discouraged - just keep doing what you are doing and I promise you will feel better off for it.
Spoz - it sounds like you need to take some time to rejuvenate yourself! I recommend this a lot, but it does work for many people: write down your goals - not just long-term, but short-term as well (short-term goals are what keep me on track), HOW you will achieve them, non-food rewards you can give yourself when you do get there, and what you will do if you get off-track. It might sound corny to say, but making mistakes makes you stronger and smarter in the end. If you analyze what made you fall into a "rut" in the first place, you are more likely to be able to avoid another one in the future. Are you stressed out lately? Do you think you might be treating your emotional self with food?
I know you can do this, and deep down you know it too - you just have to convince yourself. Tomorrow morning, when you wake up, tell yourself that it's a new day and you will be making GOOD choices for yourself. You deserve nothing less!!
Sorry for the essay guys, but I really do hope that all of you are successful in your WL journey....it's tough but we can do it!
