  • Hi everyone just a quick hello been so busy this past day and today is going to be as bad…

2lbs down this week so I finally made my 50lbs mark!

Hope everyone is well and I promise to catch up with you soon!

Catherine, nice to see you back and hope you are keeping well xx
  • Story – I must have missed all that while I was so busy last week. I’ve got you in my thoughts that your test results come out alright. *big hugs*

Moosegirl – CONGRATS on the loss, and hitting the -50 mark! That’s fantastic!!

Good morning, everyone! Just wanted to pop in here before work. This whole getting up at 4:00am thing, is going to definitely take some getting used to!
  • Good morning Peeps

OK - it's official WI day and this week I am up 1.25 lbs after staying the same next week. Later when I have more time I will post what I have been eating for a few days and any help would be greatly appreciated. On the up side I have exercised 770 minutes so far this month - now that is a huge change for me.

This ticker is updated and I'm off to work.

Move your bodies, drink your water and SMILE.

    Hugs,
    Carol

  • Already tried to post 2X and this friggin computer shut down both times!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! I will try again later!!!
  • Good Morning everyone! Thank you all for you positive comment they are much appreciated. My family is one big drama always has been and always will be. This is one reason my DH and I decided to move several states away. I am actually paying for my mothers divorce from my (so-called) father for the second time lol second times a charm eh? Well enough of that.

I went to put on my rain coat this morning, that I have had for a very long time and love, and it was not tight. For awhile now it has been really tight up against my stomach and I have had to unzip it in order to drive. This morning I had room to move and did not have to unzip it. I was like woohoooo. So that was a great boost for me today.

Heather_dw--nite time snacking is my downfall. The way I have been handling it is to save points or calories specifically for that time. Two things I eat is the WeightWatchers fudge bars they are 1point each and full of fiber. The other is light yogurt. I am adding a new one today and that is fiber one cereal. 1cup +1/2c milk is only 2points for me so it makes a great snack. I find that if I know I have to eat at that time and plan for it I make better choices. Hang in there!

    Have a great day.

    Tina
  • Hello my peeps!

I'm hanging in there. TOM appeared this morning with much horrah (cramps) and I'm crabby.. plus it's raining out. Wheeee! lol. I made myself smile at my my negative "self description".

Battle, I think you'll be just fine on the plane rides. I know you've probably been reading the horror story thread, but try and relax. Sounds like you have a big job ahead of you as you are helping your Mom get her house in order.

    Story, yay for DDR!

I'm a wee overwhelmed on all the postings and I'm truly sorry that I can't keep up with all the personals. Just know that each person who posts, you get a psychic hug as I read the post. EVERY single post means a lot to me!!

Lurkers.. post more! You'll get psycho, er psychic hugs!

    Luv,
    Ratkity
  • Hi all. I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

I am another person having issues with my scale. I feel like I have been working really hard the past few weeks and at the moment my scale is being rather obnoxious. I am hoping it will be in a better mood on Thursday for my official weigh in...

My dad ended up having to cancel on Sunday, so I didn't have to worry about Indian food. I am a bit worried because my knee is a bit wonky. I was having a bit of trouble with it last night and today it is really stiff. I hope it is just that and not something serious.

My big news of the week is that I decided I am ready to put myself out there into the dating pool and I have signed up on a website! I feel this is a big step for me and really important even if nothing comes of it. I was very honest about my size and I am going to have my co-worker take a full body shot of me today as well. I KNOW there are guys out there who will value me for me - I just have to have the confidence to go out and find them! I will keep everyone updated!
  • Well, It is -40 degrees here now. That's where Celsius and Fahrenheit intersect, so in any country that's cold. The new snow to be shoveled is knee deep, and the wind chill is -51, so what is a girl to do but go shopping. They say it is going to last a couple of weeks because it is some kind of front that is stationary, so we have a friend taking us to the big grocery store to stock up in case we can't get out of the house for a bit. It might put a dent in our Superbowl party, except these nuts keep right on going in this weather. They don't cancel work or school. Some of the school buses didn't run yesterday, but everything else did. Back home if we had this kind of weather everything would be canceled, even ambulances. They did open up the emergency shelters for the homeless. Sometimes they leave the subway tunnels open all night when it is this cold, but they have had enough shelter space so far. We left the heated entry area by the mailboxes which open last night just in case someone in the neighborhood needed it. We usually lock it at night. If someone in the building complains about it being open, I will tell them to go suck on a rock. I'm not having someone freeze to death in my neighborhood if I can help it. I checked yesterday to see if the man who had been living under a fir tree in a lot at the end of the block was still there, but he had moved on. The prostitutes are even still out working in this weather. I hope they are getting hazardous duty pay. It certainly made for an interesting walk to and from Church Sunday. It's only 2 blocks, but my crutch tip was going in about a foot or so into the snow. I'm thinking about getting a big sled to let him pull me when it gets like that. It would have to be as big as a canoe, but I'm sure they have something like that for the dog sleds to pull. The only question is if he could get me across the street before the don't walk sign starts flashing. Would that technically be jaywalking if I'm reclining on my butt being pulled? Be fun to take to court.
  • Good Morning all,

I have some kind of bug but managed to drag myself to work anyway. Hope you are all okay. Sorry for no personals today. Congrats to the loosers. Hang in there to the stay the samers or gainers.

    Blessings,
    Annie
  • I'm sorry Catherine, I couldn't resist!!!

Bailiff: "Court is in session, all rise for the honourable Judge J.N. Waulk"

Prosecutor: "Case of Canada verses the Sliding Jay Walker. Your Honour, this case is cut and dry. The defendent was caught in the crosswalk when the walk timer expired"

Defender: "Objection! Conclusions before the case is presented"

Judge: (closes eyes briefly to prevent audience from seeing eye roll) "Defender, please present your case"

Defender: "My client wasn't walking in the crosswalk, she was sliding"

Judge: "Sliding and walking are synonomous in Canada during the winter"

Defender: "She was sliding on her, um, posterior"

    Judge: "She fell?"

Defender: "No she was doing it on purpose." (goes on about the fateful night of the injury, the use of crutches by a transplanted Canadian).

Judge: "So she was sledding across the crosswalk"

Defender: "No, your honour, she was being pulled"

Judge: (raises eyebrows) "Pulled by whom? And why wasn't that person given a ticket?"

Defender: "Her husband, but he wasn't in the crosswalk. He was already on the curb."

Judge: "exactly how long was this rope he was pulling?"

Defender: (leans over to clients, turns red, and then clears throat) "Eh, um, long enough so my client wasn't in arm's reach of her husband while he was pulling"

Judge: "Why is that counselor?" (eyes the couple next to the Defender)

Defender: (looking uncomfortable and a little hot, adjusts tie) "Well, it has something to do with getting pinched and my client yelling MUSH! during the tow". (looks over at his client on crutches and her husband.. who are smiling at one another).

Judge: (Briefly closes his eyes again and ignores the snickering in the court room as he tries to compose himself) "Court rules for the defendent, charges dismissed!"
  • Rat-for once it was me spitting up on my computer screen. In the alternative, I would also have argued that the rope had to be longer due to the physics of leverage involved in overcoming inertia involving such a large mass.

I do have very long arms. In college they called them freakishly long. We had to be calibrated for this piece of equipment, and it was from the eye to your hand extended at arm's reach. There were 5 women and 19 men, and only one of the guys had a longer arm and he was 6'6". The women in my family are all over 6 feet tall, except me and my mom, and the doctor once said that I should have been too. Besides my really bizarrely long arms, my thigh bone is too long in relation to my leg. If a pathologist only had my thigh bone to go by, they would have put the length into a formula, and gotten my height at 6'1". The doctor said I must have been malnourished when I was a toddler or something. Probably the only time in my life I was

I'm pretty sure my husband married me just because of my long arms. I'm probably the only Catholic woman in 1000 miles who could give him the Heimlich maneuver. That's important for someone who eats as fast as he does.
  • I swear I posted once, obviously not…

Not got time for personals, sorry people things are a tad hectic here for me now.

Well done to everyone one else who has seen a loss this week.

Apologies if I am not here for a day or two since my grandma is very sick at the moment and we don’t think she has much longer left with us so planning to go up to visit tomorrow…
  • Story, sorry to hear you're going thru a bit of a rough time. I'll be saying a prayer that your results come back with great news and then they can get down to the bottom of why you're having pain in your breast.

    Alison on the 50lb loss
Soory to hear about your Grandma.

Carol, ah....geeze...sorry to hear about the weight gain. I have a feeling mine is going to go up this week too. I sorta splurged last night but back under control. Plus I think I've been eating too much breat. Don't worry, we can get ourselves back OP again.
for all the exercise you've done this month.
I'd love to see you post what you've been eating. It sorta gives me an idea of what others are eating and if I'm doing ok.

Tina, great NSV with the coat!!

Ratkity, so that's what I was feeling when I had that bear hug moment...thanks

Nancy, good for you on getting out there in the dating world. You might have to kiss a few frogs along the way, but you'll find your knight in shining armor soon. Best of luck to ya!!

Catherine, brrrrr that is just too cold. I'm having a hard time dealing with the 30 degree weather. That is so sweet of you to leave the little entry way for the homeless to get away from the weather. You've got a heart of gold. I would love to see you on the sled with himself pulling you!!

Annie, hope this lil bug that you caught goes away soon.

    Ratkity too funny!!!!

I didn't exercise yesterday and it was really a hard day for me to get my calories in with healthy foods....so I messed up last night but OP today. Just another hiccup in this journey. Today I started doing a graph of my weight loss month to month. Last year I had started one but it was starting when I first started and my long term goal weight date. I want to keep better track of TOM and how it affects my weight loss. I tend to lose weight before and then gain it back after without really changing my eating habits or calorie intake. Weird!
The weather is weird too. Snow this morning, then sun, now clouds again but cold cold cold.
to all the losers, to those of us gaining or staying the same.
    Debbie
  • Ok, doing well OP so far. I have 66 ounces of water down and I'm under 800 calories so far. I didn't do the WATP but I was out all day helping hubby with work stuff. I'm going to try to shove in a bit of WATP later but right now I am tired! Hey, on the good side that earache went away. I used peroxide and then later yesterday I used vinegar and it seems to have worked!
  • Hi All,

I wish I had a few hundred pounds sitting spare in the bank lol. I just had an email advertising a holiday company’s Valentines Breaks. One of them was for 3 days in Rome. I was just itching to get my credit card out, but NO, I’m getting it paid off this year, so I am definitely not going to add to it. But a romantic break in Rome would be heavenly Oh well at least I won’t be tempted to go off my diet because I’d be away from home. See every cloud DOES have a silver lining

Annie – I’m really sorry to hear that you have a bug, I hope you’ll be feeling better soon

I don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about when you go on the plane in March, you’ll have lost even more weight by then and you will fit in those seats easy peasy!! It’s going to be such a wonderful moment for you, I bet you’ll be close to crying tears of happiness

Kayley – that sounds like a good idea taking your lap top to work so you can use it between the runs you do. I hope you will be able to post regularly then, it’s always nice to read your posts.

BattleAx – what size are you now? You must be smaller than a 24, so I am sure that even if you don’t have much room to move in those plane seats, you won’t be squeezed in so tightly that you are in pain! The last time I felt like you did on that plane was when I went to see an ice skating show. The seats were tiny, I was huge, and the seats had metal arms with not an ounce of padding. The show was 2 hours long and the pain I was in really detracted from the show! I actually had huge bruises on both thighs the next day! It’s my 40th birthday in July and money permitting we’d like to celebrate it in Blackpool, where I saw the ice skating show. It will be so cool to see how I fit in those chairs now because I am sure I won’t come away bruised

Val – so sorry to hear about you losing your filling and then your tooth breaking, ouchies. I hope you aren’t in too much pain especially as you have to wait until Friday before you can have the tooth pulled out.

Sandy – you’ll have to email me and tell me all about that relative that’s driving you nuts at the moment. Is it the same one as before, or a different one? You are very true about us not being able to choose our families but that we can choose how we deal with them. They should make a bumper sticker or fridge magnet that says that

Heather D – the way I deal with late night snacking is I still do it, but with very low fat snacks! I save points in the day purely for my snacks. Another godsend for me is sugar free Jello, it’s a free food on WW, so I’ve always got a bowl of it made in the jelly ready for when I just have to eat something!

So glad to hear that your earache has gone away, that hydrogen peroxide is miracle stuff isn’t it!

Carol – I’m sorry to hear that your WI wasn’t good. Maybe with all that exercise you have done this month you have gained some muscle and that’s why you’ve not seen losses recently. Big Hug hang in there and those lbs WILL come off!

Thank you so much for telling me that you enjoy my posts, I always worry that I’m too optimistic and that one day somebody will tell me to shut up and get a grip

Dusty – yes now I think about it I think even I could go off Special K if I did have it too often. Have you tried Special K Sustain, that is my all time fave variety although it’s a lot more expensive than the original.

There is NO way I’d sell my Gazelle, not just because I love it but it took me many many attempts to win the thing on eBay and it’s MINE MINE MINE,

Xena – oh yes, that’s one good thing about putting on weight, losing it again means that when I hit milestones again we all get to party again Only this time is the last time to hit the 100 lbs off because I refuse to let myself gain so much weight again!

Story – it’s perfectly understandable that you’d want to comfort eat with the worry of the mammogram to deal with. I really hope that the test results won’t be nasty, and that whatever is causing you the breast pain will be something easily remedied

Alison - well done on the 2 lbs lost and a big on hitting your 50 lbs lost milestone

I am so very sad to hear how poorly your grandmother is, I’m sure the next few days won’t be easy, I hope you’ll be OK

Tina – what a wonderful NSV fitting so much easier into your rain coat. It won’t be long until the thing is too big for you and you’ll have to buy a new one in a smaller size!

Ratkitty – sorry that TOM has arrived and brought all sorts of nasty cramps with him. Us women have it so unlucky don’t we!! I hope you’ll be feeling better soon.

Loved the court script you made up, it gave me a really great laugh,

Nancy - good for you for putting your profile on a dating site!! That is phenomenal, and I know what a huge step it must have been for you. I know you will meet a great guy who will indeed love you and value you for who you are. I can’t wait to hear how it all goes.

    Debbie
    – I reckon as long as you always get straight back on track as soon as you can after having a little hiccup with staying OP then you will be fine.

Time for me to go now, but I’ll be back tomorrow. Bye for now and enjoy what’s left of your day,

    Hugs,

    Ammi
