I'm a definite hourglass. My shoulders and hips are exactly the same width and my waist is much smaller, no matter how much I weigh. I'm grateful for that, but find it very frustrating to buy jeans/pants, and I can't wear those babydoll/empire waisted dresses or tops because I look massive! The hourglass is held up as such a womanly figure, yet I look ridiculous in a lot of clothes, so I wanna know who these clothes are designed for exactly??
When I lose weight I notice it on my face first, particularly the chin/cheeks, and my lower abdomen. My body responds well to exercise, I have a very round butt, and it's taking on a Beyonce-like bubble since I started squats and lunges! I used to get teased for it, but I'm proud of it now. I used to want so badly to be a wedge (big bust, boyish hips) or lollipop, but I simply don't find it very sexy anymore. Give me Marilyn anyday
