Well done frus . Well I had a quiet weekend but was pleased that Villa beat blues!!

I had a nice weekend in Mexico for a wedding.

I'm tan and 5 lbs heavier, hopefully that will go away this week. I honestly was very lazy and ate and drank whatever I wanted. This was like a reunion of friends from all over the US and I couldn't be bothered to go out and exercise when I could be lounging around with them. I did a bit of walking but obviously not enough

Miche - What kind of mum pinches her son's chips??? Shame on you! You do know when that happens the chips magically become even more calorific don't you????!!! The shame of it makes even more inches stick to your hips!

It's really quiet around here, where is everyone??!
I'm having a crappy couple of days, as usual. Someone bought a huge box of my favourite choccy biscuits and I ate about 7 of them yesterday, then I had a takeaway and a Galaxy last night. My willpower has been sapped already. It seems that if I step on the scales and they don't show a loss it's enough to make me think 'sod it, it's not working so there's no point in trying'.
It's my boyfriend's birthday today and we're going away for the weekend though, so I'm going to try to sort my head out then.

Wanawear sorry about your crap few days. Sometimes it's just so hard to get yourself motivated and keep at it. I've had a real good healthy week and I am feeling so much better but the weeks and there were plenty of them where I ate just for the sake of it were awful. Have a lovely weekend and get yourself in the right mindset for Monday. Good luck.

Well again here its been frantic, my father took ill again but wait for it, didn't he have the most miraculous recovery in A & E and practically hopped off the bed when the doctor said he didn't need a blood transfusion this time. He he is so frail just seven stone 12lbs but he is in good form and in fact I know he feels good as he rung at 7.30am to tell me his phone is ringing constantly if he leaves it on the hook and can I come round and sort it!!

I'm off to have a fried egg sarnie.

MIche- Well you r Dad has made a remarkable recovery hasn't he? Must be the thought of all those pints he would miss!!! Glad he is ok.

Mmm fried egg sarnie sounds good to me. I was in a rush a few days ago dashing out to the theatre and wanted to fry some eggs. Unfortunately the oven is electric and takes an age to heat up. I thought the pan was hot enogh and two sad egg yolks look up at me in a watery clear pool before, finally the whites became white and they eventually cooked. Unfortunatley because it is a hospital place I suppose they can't have gas - there would always be some ninnie leaving the gas on!!! However it takes an age to even cook pasta and you are not allowed to leave your cooking unattended so I have to stand there while it is being done. I try to cook up enough stuff for the next day but what a chore!

I shouldn't complain cos with the last lot of house mates I could never get in the kitchen and there was no room in the fridge or freezer. There is now. Yippeee.

Peacock I forgot to ask which job did you get in the end?

HI Miche- it is the same company (so I lost out in a good redundancy settlement) but at least I can keep my pension etc etc and have continous whatsit (forgotten the term but meaning you have not broken your contract). It is a University but on a different campus so I have to commute a few stops (not many).

I'm still around, but not posting much because I'm trying to cut down at work (got a promotion and am trying to set a good example by not spending my day on the internet) and I'm not in the house much (grandmother still ill so I'm dashing over there when I have a spare moment).

My weight is a bit up after Amsterdam and New York, which isn't good. I'm still a healthy weight, but a bit heavier than I prefer being - my clothes are tight and I feel slow when I run. This week I have been a lot better with my eating though, so hopefully I can break the comfort eating cycle and get back in the saddle a bit.

Although I do have a bottle of wine tonight, to celebrate my first quiet Friday night in for about six weeks!

Gah. I was planning to be all good and environmentally friendly today. I was going to cycle to Leeds station, get the train to Blackpool, cycle from there to the hospital, visit my grandmother and then do the trip in reverse. On a Sunday it's easier than getting the bus to and from the station because they're fairly infrequent, and taking the bike all the way rather than leaving it in Leeds meant I didn't need anyone to pick me up in Blackpool to get to the hospital.

Except I cycled to the station and there weren't any trains. there's a replacement bus part of the way which, as far as I can tell, I can't take a bike on.

So having got cold and wet on the way into town I had to turn round and cycle straight back home again, without the chance to dry off and warm up. 5 miles at a time in the cold with time to warm up in between isn't too bad, but doing 10 miles pretty much straight wasn't fun. My fingers could barely operate the gears at one point!

Still, I'm home now and not planning to venture outside until tomorrow.

Have been feeling a bit rough this week and lacking energy, so no exercise for me. OH has borrowed my car for work today. Went to go out in his and it won't start. Buses don't start running here til mid afternoon and it is pelting down with rain so not walking weather. Need to get a new collar for my puppy as he has managed to snap the one he was wearing.

Inside is the best place to be I think Helen. I've already sent my eldest fella out in the cold to buy yorkshire puddings as I couldn't face it. Mind you he is 16 so he is practically a man so a bit of cold won't do him any harm.

Well I've started the day with a friend egg sarnie thats my second in a week.
However apart from that I've been very healthy for a whole week. I feel as if I am in control again thank god.

All quiet here eldest fella is revising for mock exams youngest fella is at his friend's house. Hubby is working I've just been looking at Ebay and now I've got to do a pile of ironing to do.

Peacock a downer about missing the redundancy package but glad everything worked out.
