brandy - welcome back!!! glad to hear you had fun on ur trip. you've got a lot of discipline starting up running right after a vacation. keep it uP!!

canadian mom - i know what you mean. it's just getting the guts to actually start. because I can totally kill it once i get in my groove.....it's just that I need a little extra kick to get my butt moving and to keep it moving. I'll figure it out eventually. I'm hoping it's sooner than later.

Good morning gals, hope everyone is off to a wonderful start. I slept in this morning, and think I may finally be back to Michigan time.

CM-We went to Oahu, Kauii, and the big island of Hawaii. I didn't like Oahu, but we were mainly in Waikiki which is very touristy and VERY crowded. I LOVED Kauaii-the garden island- and the big island both. They were much less touristy, and more natural wonder type beauty. I've been told the North shore of Oahu is more like what I'd like, but we didn't get there.

Rosario-hang in there girl! I know you can accomplish your weightloss goal. It will happen so keep trying. Try to find 1 part of the formula that is a little easier for you to do and work on that first, then you can gradually add in other aspects.

Wendy-OH NO!!! I sure hope your puter gets fixed fast so you're back soon. We'll be missing ya.

Courtnie-thats how I felt after checking in from vacation-Its hard to get caught back up with everyones days!

Well, I'm babysitting this morning so maybe I'll get a little practice in. Choir informed me last night that they want to sing to MY accompanying them instead of the CD which means I have a whole book of music to learn in a very short time. Wish they wouldv'e decided this back in September, but they've changed their mind, so I've got my work cut out for me.

Hope you all stay on track today and have fun.

Brandi~Thanks for the input. I'll keep the info in mind about Oahu, I would rather be where it is less crouded so I can enjoy the islands.

Brandy, glad to have you back and you must've had a fab time in Hawaii. I'm going to get there someday

Wendy, what WILL you do without your computer?! I go stir-crazy if my computer's down for even a day or two. Eeek!

I've plateau'd. As much as I hate to admit it, I have. I've been doing the same things I normally do and it's been about 7 weeks since I actually LOST weight. I've been gaining and losing the same pound for two weeks after mysteriously gaining three out of nowhere. So what I've decided is that I'm going to go straight into maintenance now. I've lost 40 pounds and don't have THAT much more I want to lose. Hey, why don't I focus on gaining muscle instead? New year comes around, I'll be getting some new exercise equipment (like a chin-up bar to hang in my doorway) to help me get fit. If I lose more weight, okay. But you know what? I'm fine where I'm at now. I'm still losing inches, slowly. But I'm not going to worry anymore if I don't lose weight. I'm just going to concentrate on not gaining, you know?

Speaking of the new year, do any of you have resolutions? I was reading a food blog the other day, and I came across a FABULOUS idea that I convinced my boyfriend to go in on me with to try.

No taboo foods for an entire year. Don't like asparagus? Tough. If it's served to you, you eat it. All of it. Actually, my reasoning for this challenge is I want to like a lot of things, such as tomatoes. Funnily enough, that's the reason the blogger decided to do this challenge. Tomatoes. I think tomatoes look and smell awesome, but I bite into a hunk of raw tomato and it makes me gag. I know they're SO good for you, but I can't stand eating them. Next year, my friend, is going to be a big year.

hey gyalies!!

ugh!! I have been so stressed trying to cram 4 years of high school math into my brain. I'm studying for my COMPASS test, which I am taking tonite!! The results will determine what level of math and english I can take. If I score low, I'm going to be stuck with remedial courses I need to pass before I can take the classes that I'll actually get any credit for. And since school ain't cheap, I'm trying to take the fewest classes possible. I've taken these tests before and I scored too low and ended up having to take one course below the college level (english and math!!)....but back then I wasn't paying for school so it really was no biggie. But now.....<sigh> I need to do awesome. So scared, but will have to see how it goes.

lydia--oh gosh, resolutions already??? that sounds like a good one, but for someone like me, it'll be a toughie. that's great that u r happy with where u r. of course that is not gonna stop u from working at it. you've done an awesome job!!!

brandy--hawaii sounds awesome....i hope i get a chance to visit there in this lifetime. good luck with your music.

courtnie---where did u and bf decide to go for vacation???

chat with ya later!!

Hi everyone!

WELCOME BACK BRANDY!!!!

Gah Wendy, you are in the same boat as me!!! I'm using my friend's computer right now. Hurry back! Love you!

How is everyone? Back up to that awful 242 *gag* But it's my fault really. I haven't been to the gym for over a week, I've been eating horribly, and I've been stressed out. Had a big blowout with two of my supervisors yesterday. Asshats. I was so close to kicking some *** but luckily my mama was there. I let them know to quit messing with me. Let's see if they've learned anything. The search for a second job is getting kinda desperate. I had my heart set on moving out before Christmas so I can have a Christmas in my own place but if I don't get some more income, that dream is kuput. Damn.

hey gals!!

so i took my tests yesterday. turns out i was stressin over nuttin. they were a piece of cake and now I can take college level courses - woohoo!!! but now I am finding out it may be too late to turn in my immunization records, so I will be restricted to only taking online classes. what a pain in the arse!! online courses cost $31/hour more than an on-campus course, so for a typical 3-hour course, I will be paying $93 more. so I will definitely only be taking only 2 classes this sememster. I need to save up at least 2 g's to go full-time. man, higher education sucks!!!

on the brighter side, (and I know you have all heard me say this before) I think I am finally ready to get serious about losing weight. I know this isn't a new story to you guys, but this time it just feels different, and I feel like I can do it. I am so ready to join the weight loss game. I am tired of being the one on the sidelines, I wanna play dammit!!!

shari- bad supervisors suck...but don't let them get to you. about that 2nd job, have you tried target or wal-mart? I know they are usually dying for extra help around this time of year. the pay sucks, but it is extra money. and if you are saving up to move out, every cent counts!!

take care everyone and have a great weekend.

and I forgot...I lost a freaking pound!! haven't done that in awhile. woohoo!!!

It's never too early to think of resolutions My boyfriend's a REALLY picky eater, and I'm picky... up to a point. The boyfriend basically won't touch condiments. Mustard and ketchup he'll eat if they're already on the food, but sour cream, cream cheese, mayo, etc. he REFUSES to eat. Well, unless you make it taste good (such as in cream cheese frosting, which he'll eat by the gallon, ugh.). Me, I'm not a fan of seafood of ANY kind (last time I ate seafood pasta, even taking out the actual animals, I got sick to my stomach. It just doesn't taste good to me). I'll only eat 5 kinds of fish. I HATE pork products of any kind, except for bacon. I can tolerate bacon, but I VASTLY prefer beef bacon over the pig variety. I also don't care for raw tomatoes, most kinds of squash, and really most kinds of raw veggies unless they're slathered in ranch dressing. I mostly like veggies from a can (though fresh corn on the cob CANNOT be beat). My boyfriend basically only eats potatoes. He's lucky to have a super-high metabolism. His body is literally all muscle with only a very very thin layer of fat and he doesn't even work out. And he eats disgustingly bad for you food (like Chef Boyardee w/cheese whiz *shudder*). This challenge is going to be difficult for both of us... but we're doing it together. If we can get through this, we can get through anything
