Congrats to both WileyB and Kristy on your new jobs! I cannot wait to get out of school so I can get my first "real" job! I guess it isn't that long to wait- I graduate in October!

I am not sure about my weight...yesterday the scale said 217 and today it says 222?!?!? I don't get it...but I am not going to stress it...my new smaller clothes fit great so I shall focus on that!

I hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Wowza, sounds like the mixed nuts are coming into a good luck streak?! CONGRATS to both WileyB and Kristy on the new jobs!!! Good luck, I am sure you will both be great!

Last night when I got home from Boston I decided to pop on the scale to see what kind of damage I had done and LOW AND BEHOLD.....I had entered ONEderland! This morning I got on the scale and I am back into the 200's. Not really sure what thats all about, I did have ham for dinner so it may be from all the sodium?! I WANT TO BE BACK IN ONEDERLAND! hehe, it will happen, I know, I'm slightly impatient.

I'm going to go do some house work while the little one is sleeping....but I will check in again tonight and see what else is going on. Anyone been counting their points? I have barely any points at all. lol. Been one of those months?! I'm not sure what I am supposed to be counting and not counting. I guess this was my practice month.

Ciao my thin ladies!!

Hello Girls! I'm snuggled under my blankets, where I've been all day. Not l
lazy, not sick, just trying to stay warm. It's sooooo cold and the heat isn't working right in my apartment.

I did all right with my eating today--I had about 600 calories total. I think I can get back to doing that every day, or at the most 900. I've done it before. I found that drinking green tea when I "want something" helps a lot. I try to stop eating by 7pm.

So---it's good to hear you all sounding positive, that's what we need. We can do this!! Remember to drink your water and eat thosefruits and veggies!

Marion!!!! 600 calories TOTAL?! Your body is going to enter starvation mode! If you want to lose and keep it off.....your body needs AT MINIMUM 1200! Your likely to stop losing fat and instead lose muscle and gain as soon as you eat more because your body will save everything you eat not knowing when it will get the food it needs again. Please be safe about this and eat the minimum caloric intake. At the most 900 is just not safe. I worry about you. Also, remember to eat every 3-4 hours....you dont want to counteract everything you are trying to accomplish. Do a little research, I am sure you will find that you will lose just fine with 1200-1400 cals/day.

I'm worried about you, please dont take offense to this, I am just making sure you do this the healthy way....You want this to be long term, not short term. Think about what I said....heres a good website for you....

Ohhh... I agree... You need to eat to lose... You need something to start the internal fat burning engine (metabolism).... When you eat that low amount of calories then your body thinks that it is starving and it HOLDS ON to the extra fat because i doesn't know when it's going to get it's next source of energy....

If you increase your intake, I bet you'll lose MORE....

Hiya Morgan! I know, it's a ghost town here. I don't know what the story is. Maybe everyone was in hiding for the weekend.

So what's up? How are you doing with your diet? What special things have you found help/don't help? I need ideas and input.

I hope we can get the group moving. Support is so important. It's a lonely battle!

Hi all- things have been crazy busy here. I just started my pediatrics nursing course and am swamped with work. This has also been a yucky week for my dieting. I have been having all kinds of cravings. I have resisted them for the most part and when I have splurged it has only been a bite or two of something naughty. I have only lost one pound this week- actually I went up a bit and then dropped back down. I am a bit frustrated as I am still working out a bunch. Actually I have a new goal. I am going to participate in the MS walk in the end of April...it is 5 miles. So now I am really trying to increase my workouts on my treadmill so I am ready. I am very motivated by this but am still having such a tough time with the cravings. Any advice for this hunger surge would be helpful. I am definetly eating enough calories so I know it isn't true hunger!

Thanks ladies- I will try to drop back here in a few days.

Well I'm glad to see that Marion and Vanessa are still hanging tough!

As for things that have worked for me Marion....eating breakfast, eating every 3-4 hours and exercise. Those are the only things that I wasn't doing before that I am doing now. I def eat between 1200-1400 calories per day regardless. There is also a theory that if you alter your caloric intake each day, like Monday 1400, Tuesday 1200, Wednesday 1500 etc, that you will not platue because it keeps your metabolism always working and guessing how many calories you will eat. I actually havent tried that, but they say its a good thing to do.

I probably should try it as I have platued and not lost in over a week! I havent gained, just havent lost. Wow, its discouraging.

I was telling Vanessa about this a month or so again....ever heard of negative calorie foods? Basically the gist of it....is that it takes more calories to digest the food then is actually in the food. Gives you a negative calorie count. Here is a brief summary and small list of negative calorie foods....

http://weightlossinternational.com/n...rie-foods.html

Maybe including some of these foods into your diet will be helpful? Just remember how important it is to eat the minimum required amount of calories per day.

Pediatrics huh Vanessa?! Sounds like fun! I hated my rotation into the ped office, we saw 3 patients on my day. Blek, how boring! Hopefully, it is going well and you are studying hard! Dont focus on whether or not you did poorly this week, you just keep trucking on and worry about doing better this week. You have so much on your plate right now that school should be your number one priority anyhow. Isnt it like 20 pounds the average person gains while in college? No excuse I know, but I surely know how tough it is to endure nursing classes AND try to diet. It didnt work for me, but then again, I didnt put much effort into the diet. Chin up Chica!

I have to go to the Doctors to get my throat checked out again, think I am dealing with strep AGAIN (3rd time since September!). Then I need to nap before work tonight. Blek. It was nice to hear from someone, you all take care now!

Thanks, Morgan.

Well. It's good to hear from you, Morgan and Vanessa!

Thanks for those tips, Morgan. I know I need to eat more, strange as that sounds. There just isn't anything I like or want! I seem to live on tomato soup.

Sorry this is short. I'm totally dead and tomorrow is my crazy busy day. I'll catch up later. Take care!

Hey girls! I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to write to you all again. We have been terribly busy. We are moving into another house, and I started my new job yesterday. I still can't find a sitter for baby girl, and she has two brand new teeth coming through. Baseball season starts any day now, and spring break is next week. We are truly going in circles, and trying to make the best of it. I hope that everyone is doing well. I haven't had a chance to weigh because I have to work at the time that I was going to our local clinic to weigh. I am going to have to find another, more convienient time to do it. I got little girl down for the count, and now I have to go and cut the boys hair. They look like they are wearing dirty mops on their heads!Well..... not quite that bad, but close. I've got a busy day tomorrow, and really need to get in bed early tonight. My eating habits actually seem to be getting better, I think. Hopefully, after we are done moving, I'll be able to get back into some kind of "routine". I haven't forgotten ya'll and will try my best to write again soon. Have a great week!

That was my mini goal for this week since i am going on vacation....speaking of which- i won't be around for the next few days (until next sunday or monday) when i return. i hope everyone has a great week- i know we seem to be checking in less often- but i still hope everyone's weight loss battle is still going strong!
