I seem to remember reading somewhere that the fake crab meat was not OK due to all the sugars in it. Hmm! Either way I'd avoid it.
Steph: Yes, the recipe is in the b'fast section. It's really good with some flax meal added to it, just be sure to count that as your nut serving, according to Dr. A.
Yesterday was a good OP day. I had a late class so didn't feel like making the soup so just had leftover roast chicken and broccoli. Ruth somewhere posted about having sf syrup in milk as a dessert...I tried it...and it's so good. Thanks for that.
Morning all you Phase 1 chicks. I just have to say YEEEEE HAW!!!!
Today was weight in day and I'm down 5.5 pounds. Hubby was down 7.
I couldn't believe it. I know it is all water weight because of how much I had to pee yesterday but it is so encouraging to know I am getting rid of some of the weight I have gained since October. WOO WHO!
I'm going to chime in on the imitation crab also. When I read the package it had some kind of filler and for the life of me I can't remember what it was right now and sugar. I know when I found that out and quit eating it my weight started going down again.
Yesterday was another OP day for me even though the temptations (better know as cream cheese danish) were still in the office. Had my 120oz of water and am feeling really good. I had forgotten how good I feel when I stay OP.
Today's menu:
B - Ham and turkey rollup with a smidge bit of chive onion cream cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers
S - Bean Salad and Milk
L - eating out with a friend at Burger and Brew will probably have a spinach salad or ceasar salad w/o the dressing
S - celery with laughing cow light swiss
D - Chicken foil pouches (can't remember what they are called in the SBD book), black beans and spinach
S - SF Jello with dollop of cool whip for hubby and SF peanut butter with a dollop of cool whip for me.
Manage to get through, yesterday, with all it's here, there and everywhere's. Thanks for the chicken cola recipe. I do have problem, though. I cannot get all the SF items, here, that you have in America. Makes it difficult. I am not sure about the ketchup, either. Don't know if we even have anything like low carb ketchup. What about tomato sauce. Guess it wouldn't taste the same. Major boo boo, yesterday. Went to the shops and saw some low fat fudgesicles. I thought, yippee, Bought them and then on the way home, a light pinged in my head. I checked the fat content, but did I check the sugar. NOOOOOOOOO! it had 16.1 g of sugar. Well, offered them up as a sacrifice to DH when I got home. He gladly accepted. Back to the drawing board. As for the crab meat. What's left in the frig will be breakfast for the magpies this morning. Well, off for another cuppa and see what I can get into, today. It is a home day. Cleaning and finally take down the Christmas tree.
Just made the Salsa chicken and as I was making it, I noticed the taco mix had sugar in it, the salsa had sugar in it. Was going to make something else and noticed the tinned diced tomatoes had 4.0 sugar in it. What do I do? How much is too much sugar? After having to give up my fudgecicles, yesterday, not ready to give up my chicken I dont' think we have many of the LF, SF, items, here, that are available overseas. Oh, woe is me.
Do they list sugar in the ingredient list or only on the nutritional information? Tomatoes have natural sugar which is fine but you want to avoid added sugar. I know someone has listed a combination of spices that you can use for the Taco mix.
Arheba sorry you sound so stressed. I don't know what kinds of salsa you have there but if Pace is one of the brands they don't add sugar to it. It will show a sugar grams count but like Barb said it is from the tomatoes and that sugar is OK. If you can't find one with out added sugar you could always make your own with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos or chillis and cilantro. I haven't been able to find a no sugar added Taco mix. However I did find that the spices that are in the Taco Bake recipe work wonderfully for a Taco mix. And you can make it as spicy or mild as you want just by adding and deleting the spices. The Taco Bake link is http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...highlight=Taco Hope this helps you dear.
As for me well I had another OP day and am feeling really good still. I love it. Just wish I could remember how much better I feel when I'm eating correctly when that donut or cookie pops up at me.
Today's menu will be:
B - Ham & turkey with smidge bit of cream cheese roll up, cucumbers, tomatoes. I know boring but I like it and it is something I can eat while I drive for 45 mins to work.
S - Bean salad and milk
L - Taco Bake, broccoli, grean beans, snap peas and cottage cheese
S - Laughing cow light swiss and celery
D - Meatloaf (no crackers or oatmeal), spinach/romaine salad, cauliflower
S - hubby get jello with dollop of cool whip and I will have peanut butter with a dollop of cool whip
Hope everyone has a great OP day.

Thanks to all for your insight. Will have to learn to read the labels for sugar. Have always read the fat content, but never thought much about the sugar. Off to town, today, to the hairdresser and then to the shops and have a wander and read some labels. Did well, yesterday, but in reading the other posts don't think I am eating enough veggies. Stayed OP all day, which I am pleased about, plus did not feel hungry. Don't we all wish this feeling could last a lifetime. Congrats to all that stayed OP, yesterday. The taco chicken bake was good, yesterday. I made a cucumber, onion, tomatoe salad with a little olive oil, vinegar and equal. Was quite good, although don't think DH was to fussed on it, but he suffered in silence! lLost four pounds so far.
Off for another cuppa before my day begins. Catch up with you later.
Had a poke around at shops before going to hairdresser. Didn't come up with much. Did find some mexican spices for the next time I make the taco chicken. No spray butter. Found a Heinz tomato sauce, Oops, ketchup with 25% less sugar. Nothing SF. Did find some cheese sticks that were low in fat and calories, so went with those, also. That's about the long and short of it. Will keep reading and searching in some other shops as time goes along. Bought some caulie and will cook and mash that tonight. I do have some Molly McButter someone sent me from the States, so will give that a go. I waited until I got home for lunch and finished off the chicken with the tomato, cucumber and onion salad. I tend to be a creature of habit. When I find something I like, it seems I eat it a few days in a row. Catch up with everyone in the a.m.
Hi everyone just a quick drive by today. Lots to do. Still OP and feeling great. Scales down again this morning. It is amazing how much water you can retain and not know it.
Today's menu will be:
B - Ham & turkey with smidge bit of cream cheese roll up, cucumbers, tomatoes.
S - Bean salad and milk
L - Left over meatloaf, broccoli, grean beans, snap peas and cottage cheese
S - Laughing cow light swiss and celery
D - Garlic soy pork chops, cauliflower and black beans
S - hubby gets SF jello with dollop of cool whip and I will have peanut butter with a dollop of cool whip. Know this is what we have every night but it works for us. Cures the wanting something sweet/dessert crave after dinner.
We didn't get the foil pouch chicken done this week. Just didn't have time that day so we just ate leftovers. However, the chicken was thawed so I baked it with some seasonings and tomorrow I am going to put it in the crock pot with either the cola chicken items or the SBD BBQ sauce. Not sure which I want to try yet.
Hellloooo Phase 1ners! I've been goood.. just haven't been here
Sheba: DRAT! I wanted to make your garlic/soy pork chops the other day.. I have NO soy sauce in the house... another item on the grocery list..
I used all the other ingredients fer it, and then used Carboption Asian Marinade. DH looooved it!
Tonight's menu : I get to eat what I want..since DH is away. So I am making Spinach stuffed portabella mushrooms, with a huge tossed salad.
Looks like a good menu, Sheba's Mom.
Arheba, that salad with the cukes and tomatoes sounds good. I may have that with my dinner tonight.
You chickies are doing well on Phase I! Good going!
