Morning All :

Target Tuesday hits home...around 8:00 every night ( TV time ) I am used to having a snack while I watch the shows...I am so used to it that I think I need it, even if I have had a good size dinner and am not hungry...here lately it has always been a low fat snack BUT if I could not do it ( if I am not truly hungry ) I would save some fat grams and calories...so I am going to work on that....

Sandy - Glad you came out of the depression...Spring is just around the corner....then we can all come out of this winter funk....keep up the good work...

Julie - Dont get frustrated with the scales it will start to come off, especially with all the exercise that you have been doing.....great job!!

Amanda - If you have any questions on WW let me know...I would be glad to help...

I got 4 points yesterday, did my WATP dvd....hope everyone has a good day..

Good morning all! Well, I got back on track this morning and have done my yoga and have my first 24 oz of water in! I never did work out yesterday so it was only a 3 point day.

Judy - its so wonderful that you are there for your friend. I'm sure he appreciates it! Its the little things that count!

Julie - Your bad year sounds like mine last year! It started with my dad losing his business to a fire in January and went down hill from there (heart attacks, hospitalizations, gall bladder removal, death of a friend, etc). Those are the type of years when you look back and wonder how you stayed sane!

Eyeball slime! LOL! What a visual! But I know what you mean. We had -30s last week and now its just above zero, with snow, snow and snow. Sorry Faye, but I had to chuckle when you said it was getting cold - in the 50s!

Faye - EWWWW! That's all I can say about that story! As far as the card goes, since I'm new I had no idea about it. Can a person opt out of it if they so choose?

Well, I have to go fold laundry and get some packages ready to mail (if I decide to wander out in the snow later!). Take care!

FYI- As for the gift card situation, no one is expected to participate. You only participate if you want to. You must have been a member of the thread for 4 months prior to Jan 1 to participate in the first quarter contest but then are eligible for any future ones. I thought the gift might spur everyone on to really work hard. We don't have to continue it past this quarter if the concensus is you don't want to. It is all up to the group.

POINTS POINTS POINTS POINTS:

Carri
Judy
Lisa

EXERCISE QUEENS:

Carri WATP tape Keep those legs moving Carri
Lisa Yoga the cultured way to exercise
Judy mall walk Wave as you go by!

Keep up the good work, ladies!

Thanks Faye...its good to feel like me again... as for the challenge... I still feel that the one who wins the first challenge should buy the next gift card. Since they are alreaday uneligible for the next challenge it just makes the most sense to me. They have 4 months to purchase it... thats my thoughts on it anyway... Seems the fairest... i will go along with the majority on this as well... just put in my 2 cents...lol

Hiya folks. 2 pts for yesterday, I have fallen off the writing things down wagon. Yikes. So just points for water and exercise. I dropped in on a toning class at the school gym yesteday, and I got my butt kicked. I strained muscles in my shoulder and thigh and this morning my rear end is sore as H.E. double hockeysticks! Oh boy. I didn't really like the class because I feel so behind everyone else, so much more out of shape. I am 26, getting stomped by beautiful in-shape 40 and 50 year olds. And I am the only one who has to sit out and the only one truely sweating bullets. And I am only a little overweight at this point. But maybe I will go back next week. I feel like challenging myself a little, just once a week would be good.

Next week I am going to see if they will give me Metformin at the doctor's office, for PCOS. I know I have it but didn't report it as a preexisting when I got my new health insurance (oops!) so I am going to have to play it cool. But I am hoping the drugs will drop the pounds.

Journaling. Today I am going to go to the mall and buy a nice journal, 14 bucks worth (ouch!) for writing my foods and feelings about foods into. Hopefully this will get me back on the wagon! I need to become much more familiar with my feelings around foods. I am hoping for a miracle, I admit. When I quit smoking, it was easier because I came to realise that I would get lethargic and depressed right after a smoke. I am hoping to grasp something similar to this with regards to overeating. Wish me luck!

Judy-when my buddy Doug when through a rough patch last year (REALLY ROUGH) one of his friends (a female) let him know she was going to make a "Doug-Call" every day. She just endevoured to call him every day to check in, and I think this really helped. Not that you should do it every day, but a scheduled check in might really remind your friend how much he is cared for.

To all of you, WTG!!!!!

Hi Ladies!

Well I did it - I've joined weight watchers!!. The group leader was reaaly warm and friendly, and the group seems nice - so I am feeling really positive about it. I weighed in at more than I thought I was - so my official starting weight is 255 lb. At least I know where I am, and I really like the look of the programme and think I can successfully lose weight. I'm feeling very good about it all - I'll let you know how I go at my first weigh in on Tuesday.

4 points for me yesterday!

Got to go and watch the new series of CSI!!!

Amanda- great! I'm sure you'll do great. Are you doing it with flex points?

Kim- How long have you had PCOS? What are your most obvious symptoms? I ask because I was diagnosed hmm about 2yrs ago with it. I am on Glucophage XR, which seems to work better for me than the reg. gluco. The reg one used to get me really "yucky"- upset stomach, funny taste in my mouth, etc. I have found it doesn't really make me lose more weight, but it seems to let you lose it if you follow some type of dieting/exercise program. I have also noticed if you do both you lose more weight...at least at a steadier rate. As far as my symptoms..I get irreg. periods (now under control for the moment with birth control), I don't ovulate...bummer, and I have some dark spots, also thinning hair. You should check out the PCOS forum on this site...lots of info. Well, hope it all turns out good for you.

Hello, I'm new to the site and Faye invited me to look in on you guys.

My current weight is 183 and my goal weight is 125. Not terribly unreasonable since I'm 5'0". When you're this short every pound looks like 5. For challenge Tuesday, my challenge would be giving up sweets. I just need to get them out of the house. Every time I walk by a bag of chocolates I pop one in my mouth. All that popping adds up and I don't mean for calorie burning! For points I get 4 today. I went to the gym at lunch and did 30 minutes on the nautalis machine and 20 on the bike. I feel pretty proud of myself, hopefully I can keep it up. I've read through some of the posts and this seems like a good group. I look forward to hearing more from all of you.

I need to rant.....

You know, I'm really kicking myself for not taking measurements when I started this month. I don't feel a difference in my clothes or see a difference in the scale, but according to the body fat index on the scale, I've gone down 2% (or maybe 3%, I can't remember).

Someone said to me that maybe I'm "meant" to weigh this much....I cannot believe I'm meant to be 200 lbs! I know I don't "look" like I weigh that much (both my mom and my DH wouldn't lie to me), but I am that and those numbers really bother me.

I also have PCOS and am currently unmedicated for it and hypothyroidism too. I had my gall bladder taken out last fall and have been having problems with digestion. And anyone on Metaformin (Glucophage) knows how that messes with digestion too! I can't handle that double-whammy.

So I'm thinking and hoping that I'm not losing because of the fact I'm not medicated right now and I'm gaining muscle. I'm also having those wonderful femine problems associated with PCOS, so I have to keep telling myself all this so I don't get too frustrated.

Okay, rant over. Thanks for reading, if you did!

Amanda - Congrats for joining! It sounds like you've found a warm and welcoming group!

Babsangie - Welcome to the group! I too am a newcomer here...about 3 weeks now, but these gals are great!

I finally am back up to four points. I'm actually thinking of maybe doing a second workout tonight.....since I missed my abs/glutes workout on Saturday. We'll see!

Take care everyone!

Evening all!

First of all welcome Babs!

Yesterday was great 4pts! Today well I will write it off and get on with it! Wish that I could have a great run with points like Juile! I will get there. Not making excuses or anything but I need some help trying to fit in a workout while holding down these 2 jobs. Any ideas are welcome. I am going to get myself a treadmil or some other equipment in a few weeks(waiting for income tax refund). As far as the target for today my thing is getting home late in the evening and being starved. I tried to eat healthy but for some reason when I make it home I seem so hungrey!! I have been having some good for me snacks when I get home(fruit/yogurt).

I feel for everyone with PCOS. One of my friends has it and she finally was able to have a child! Then when her child was 3 months old she found out that she was going to have another. She has been truly blessed. I don't really know what exactly this does to you but if it is anything like endo(extreme pain to the nth degree) I feel for you all. Each and everyone of you are in my prayers(actually everyone here are in my prayers).

As for the card I am up to whatever goes! Hey I am easy!

Got to toot a horn for my son. Had a parent teacher conference on the day that report cards came out and was shocked! Corey is in the 2nd grade and is reading 3rd grade level, math skills are on the border of 2nd/3rd grade, spelling is 3rd grade as well. His teacher has been getting him to help with some of the other students in her class. He gets to help some of the students with schoolwork. According to his teacher is explains it to them very well. Also is the only student in her class that can constantly carry on an adult conversation with everyone. She is very impressed him as well as myself. Not to bad for a child with ADHD who has trouble paying attention at home some days. Hey I will take it. I am sorry to ramble on about him but hey this has made my week.

Gotta run time for bed. Catch everyone later

Morning all you beauties!

Cold and snow this morning. I guess that this is going to be a chilly day for me. To be someplace warm right now sounds so good to me.

My woe for today is actually 2 woes. First of all, my biggest complaint is that there is no place here that is early brid or night owl friendly for those who want to workout. The gym here doesn't open until 8 a.m., already at work by then when I work days and it closes at 9 p.m. sometimes they will stay open til 10(on Fri they close at 7 and on Sat they are only open from 9a.m.-2p.m.). When I work days I don't get home til 530 p.m. and by the time I get Corey fed and his homework it is 730 that don't leave me any workout time as Corey's bed time is 8-830 during the school year. On the days that I go in at 1 p.m. I have to run errands for my mother and another friend and there are also times that I work my second job from 7-12. I don't get off of work until 930 or so at night so I don't have time then. I guess that I wish that they were open at 7am or before. I have suggested that they open earlier but I was told that nobody wanted to come to open the gym that early. I am going to buy some equipment. I wish that there was a 24 hr place or some place that opened at 6am. My second woe is enegery. I have none whatsoever. I am forcing myself to get moving. I know that it has lots to do with 2 jobs. Any ideas for enegery?

Time to run have to shower and get dressed for work(artic circle time today no heat where I will be working at)

Here's to a wonderful OP day!

Morning Ladies!

4 points again yesterday, but just barely. I decided to not treadmill cuz my body was aching from all the extra exercise. But I was going to go ice skating with my kids.....well we ended up by sliding my huge van into a ditch instead. Had to call a tow truck to get pulled out. So, I came home and hauled/stacked wood for 30 minutes. I'm calling that my exercise. So, 8 in a row!!

Back to treadmill again today. I feel like things are shifting around. I can feel bones when I lie down or when dh snuggles with me....so, I guess the scale doesn't know everything.

LisaZ--I totally know what you mean about feeling "meant" to weigh this much. I've been feeling that way for weeks, since the scale quit moving. BUT, I know that's a cop out.......it's not true, it's just our subconscious brain rationalizing and trying to convince you to eat that extra cookie! We are NOT meant to weigh 200 pounds!! It is not healthy. And sooner or later, the scales will move........

Well, gotta fly............welcome to Angie! Sandy, congrats about your son! That's awesome

Oh, and Amanda, I'm so glad you found a group to join that you feel comfortable with! There's no where to go now but DOWN DOWN DOWN

Later babes,
Julie
